सर्वज्ञ त्वंप्रशंशब्दान्ते सीदमे ऽग्निश्च मारम्
O all-knowing one, at the end of the praise, sit here, and the fire, and Mara.
त्रयस्त्रिंशदक्षरो ऽयं महाविद्याप्रदोमनुः
This mantra of thirty-three syllables bestows the great knowledge.
पादैः सर्वेण पञ्चाङ्गं कृत्वा ध्यायेत्ततो हरिम्
Having composed the five-limbed form with all its feet, one should then meditate on Hari.
वेदैः कल्पद्रुरूपैः शिखरिशतसमालंबिकोशैश्चतुर्भिर्न्यायैस्तर्कैपुराणैः स्मृतिभिरभिवृतस्तादृशैश्चामराद्यैः
Surrounded by the Vedas in the form of wish-fulfilling trees, by hundreds of peaks, by fourfold methods, by logic, by Puranas, by Smritis, and by such as Amaravati and others.
व्याख्यां वामे वितन्वन् स्फुटरुचिरपदो वेणुना विश्वमात्रे शब्दब्रह्मोद्भवेन श्रियमरुणरुचिर्बल्लवीवल्लभो नः
May the beloved of the cowherd maidens, whose left hand unfolds commentary, whose words are clear and beautiful, whose flute arises from the sound-brahman, whose radiance is crimson, grant us prosperity.
अष्टादशार्णवत्कुर्याद्यजनं चास्य मन्त्रवित्
The knower of mantras should perform worship with an eighteen-spoked arrangement.
आनन्दवपुषे दद्यादृशार्णं तदनन्तरम्
He should offer the eighteen-spoked mantra to the embodiment of bliss immediately thereafter.
नन्दपुत्रपदं ङेंतं श्यामलाङ्गपदं तथा
He should recite the mantra for the son of Nanda, and likewise for the dark-limbed form.
दशार्णो ऽतो भवेन्मन्त्रो द्वात्रिंशदक्षरान्वितः
Thus, the ten-spoked mantra consists of thirty-two syllables.
देवता नन्दपुत्रस्तु विनियोगो ऽखिलाप्तये
The deity is the son of Nanda; the application is for the attainment of all desires.
दक्षिणे रत्नचषकं वामे सौवर्णनेत्रकम्
On the right, place a gem cup; on the left, a golden vessel.
लक्षं जपो दशांशेन जुहुयात्पायसेन तु
Recite the mantra one hundred thousand times, and offer one-tenth of that with rice pudding.
प्रणवः कमला माया नमो भगवते ततः
The syllable 'Om', the goddess Kamala, Māyā, and 'Salutations to Bhagavat' follow thereafter.
ऊनविंशतिवर्णो ऽयं मुनिर्ब्रह्मा समीरितः
This mantra consists of nineteen syllables, as declared by the sage Brahmā.
मन्त्रो ऽयं सर्वसंपत्तिसिद्धये सेव्यते बुधैः
This mantra is practiced by the wise for the attainment of all prosperity.
वह्निजायावधिः प्रोक्तो मन्त्रः षोडशवर्णवान्
The mantra with sixteen syllables is prescribed up to the wife of the fire.
पञ्चाङ्गानि प्रकुर्वीत ततो ध्यायेत्सुरेश्वरम्
He should perform the five limbs, then meditate upon the lord of the gods.
श्लिष्यन्तीं स्वयमन्यहस्तविलत्सौवर्णवेत्रश्चिरं पायान्नः सुविशुद्धपीतवसनो नानाविभूषो हरिः
May Hari, adorned with various ornaments, wearing a pure yellow garment, holding a golden staff in his own hand, and embraced by another, protect us for a long time.
ध्यात्वैवं प्रजपेल्लक्षं रक्तैः पद्मैर्दशांशतः
Having meditated thus, one should recite the mantra one hundred thousand times, offering one-tenth with red lotuses.
अङ्गैर्नारदमुख्यैश्च लोकेशैश्च तदायुधैः
With the limbs of Narada and the chief lords of the world, along with their weapons.
लीलादण्डपदाब्जो ऽपि जनसंसक्तदोः पदम्
Even the lotus feet of the playful staff, the position of hands engaged with people.
मेघश्यामपदं पश्चाद्भगवान् सलिलंसदृक्
The Lord, whose feet are dark like a cloud, who resembles water, is behind.
नारदो ऽस्य मुनिश्छन्दो ऽनुष्टुप् च देवता मनोः
Narada is the sage; the meter is Anushtubh; the deity is Manu.
वेदैः पञ्चां गकं भागैर्मन्त्रवर्णोत्थितैः क्रमात्
With the Vedas, five parts, and syllables arising from the mantra, in order.
दिश्यन्निजप्रियसखांसगन्दक्षहस्तो देवश्रियं निहतकंस उरुक्रमो नः
Granting his own dear friends, with a fragrant hand, divine glory, the slayer of Kamsa, the mighty one, to us.
त्रिमध्वक्तैस्ततो ऽभ्यर्चेदङ्गं दिक्पालहेतिभिः
Then, with three honey offerings, he worshipped the limbs with the weapons of the guardians of the directions.
स सर्वैः पूज्यते लोकैस्तस्य गेहे स्थिरा रमा
He is worshipped by all the worlds; in his house, Lakshmi remains steadfast.
भयाग्निवल्लभामन्त्रः सप्तार्णः सर्वसिद्धिदः
The mantra beloved of Bhaya and Agni, sevenfold, grants all accomplishments.
देवतापूर्ववच्चक्रैः पञ्चाङ्गानि तु कल्पयेत्
As before, with the circles of the deity, one should arrange the five limbs.
पाशं सयष्टिमपरत्र पयोदनीलः पीताम्बराहिरिपुपिच्छकृतावतंसः
With a noose and staff, elsewhere, cloud-dark, wearing yellow garments, adorned with peacock feathers as a crest.
