किं बहूक्तेन मन्त्रो ऽयं सर्वाभीष्टफलप्रदः
What need is there for much speech? This mantra grants all desired fruits.
दशाक्षरः स एवादौ प्रोक्तः शक्तिरमायुतः
The ten-syllable mantra, with the power of Amā, is declared at the beginning.
वरदाभयहस्ताभ्यां श्लिष्यन्तं स्वाङ्गके प्रिये
With hands granting boons and fearlessness, embracing his beloved to his own body.
ध्यात्वैवं प्रजपेल्लक्षदशकं तद्दशांशतः
Having meditated thus, one should recite one hundred thousand times, with one-tenth.
सर्वकामप्रदौ सर्वसंपत्सौभगाग्यदौ नृणाम्
Bestowing all desires, all wealth, and prosperity upon men.
नारदो ऽस्य मुनिश्छन्दो गायत्री देवता मनोः
Narada is the sage, Chandas is Gayatri, the deity is Manu.
षड्वीर्याढ्येन बीजेन षडङ्गानि समाचरेत्
With a seed endowed with sixfold power, one should perform the six limbs.
वामे दधद्दिव्यदिगंबरो गोपीसुतो ऽवतु
May the son of the cowherd, adorned with divine directions as his garment on the left, protect.
दशांशं जुहुयादग्नौ सिताढ्येन पयोंऽधसा
One should offer a tenth part into the fire with milk and water rich in white substance.
पद्मस्थं कृष्णमभ्यर्च्य तर्पयेत्तन्मुखांबुजे
Having worshipped Krishna seated on a lotus, one should satisfy him at his lotus-like face.
पुत्रार्थी तर्पयेदेवं वत्सराल्लभते सुतम्
Desiring a son, one should thus offer satisfaction; within a year, he obtains a child.
वाक्कामो ङेयुतं कृष्णपदं माया ततः पगरम्
Desiring eloquence, one should know the Krishna-syllable joined with 'ma' and then the 'pa' joined with 'ga'.
मनुस्वरयुतौ सर्गयुक्तौ भृगुतदूर्द्धूगौ
Accompanied by the nasal and the creative syllable, and raised by the Bhrigu accent above.
ऋषिः स्यान्नारदश्छन्दो गायत्री देवता पुनः
The seer is Narada, the meter is Gayatri, and the deity is again Gayatri.
शक्तिस्तु वाग्भवं विद्याप्राप्तये विनियोजना
The power is the Vagbhava, assigned for the attainment of knowledge.
अक्षमालां च दक्षोर्द्ध्वस्फआटिकीं मातृकामयीम्
And a rosary of crystal, strung upwards with the letters, is to be held in the right hand.
गायत्रीगीतवसनं श्यामलं कोमलच्छविम्
Clothed in the song of Gayatri, dark-hued, with a tender complexion.
ध्यात्वैवं प्रमदावेशविलासं भुवनेश्वरम्
Thus meditating on the Lord of the world, delighting in the play of feminine charm.
हुत्वा तु पूजयेन्मन्त्री विंशत्यर्णविधानतः
Having offered oblations, the practitioner should worship according to the rite of twenty offerings.
अदृष्टान्यपि शास्त्राणि तस्य गङ्गातरङ्गवत्
Even unseen scriptures become to him like the waves of the Ganges.
सर्वज्ञ त्वंप्रशंशब्दान्ते सीदमे ऽग्निश्च मारम्
O all-knowing one, at the end of the praise, sit here, and the fire, and Mara.
त्रयस्त्रिंशदक्षरो ऽयं महाविद्याप्रदोमनुः
This mantra of thirty-three syllables bestows the great knowledge.
पादैः सर्वेण पञ्चाङ्गं कृत्वा ध्यायेत्ततो हरिम्
Having composed the five-limbed form with all its feet, one should then meditate on Hari.
वेदैः कल्पद्रुरूपैः शिखरिशतसमालंबिकोशैश्चतुर्भिर्न्यायैस्तर्कैपुराणैः स्मृतिभिरभिवृतस्तादृशैश्चामराद्यैः
Surrounded by the Vedas in the form of wish-fulfilling trees, by hundreds of peaks, by fourfold methods, by logic, by Puranas, by Smritis, and by such as Amaravati and others.
व्याख्यां वामे वितन्वन् स्फुटरुचिरपदो वेणुना विश्वमात्रे शब्दब्रह्मोद्भवेन श्रियमरुणरुचिर्बल्लवीवल्लभो नः
May the beloved of the cowherd maidens, whose left hand unfolds commentary, whose words are clear and beautiful, whose flute arises from the sound-brahman, whose radiance is crimson, grant us prosperity.
अष्टादशार्णवत्कुर्याद्यजनं चास्य मन्त्रवित्
The knower of mantras should perform worship with an eighteen-spoked arrangement.
आनन्दवपुषे दद्यादृशार्णं तदनन्तरम्
He should offer the eighteen-spoked mantra to the embodiment of bliss immediately thereafter.
नन्दपुत्रपदं ङेंतं श्यामलाङ्गपदं तथा
He should recite the mantra for the son of Nanda, and likewise for the dark-limbed form.
दशार्णो ऽतो भवेन्मन्त्रो द्वात्रिंशदक्षरान्वितः
Thus, the ten-spoked mantra consists of thirty-two syllables.
देवता नन्दपुत्रस्तु विनियोगो ऽखिलाप्तये
The deity is the son of Nanda; the application is for the attainment of all desires.
