सदाहमोहैरार्तस्य विस्फोटकज्वरादिभिः
For one afflicted with constant delusion, distress, eruptions, fever, and the like—
अथवा गरुडारूढं प्रद्युम्नबलसंयुतम्
Or else, meditate on him mounted on Garuda, endowed with the strength of Pradyumna.
ध्यात्वा मूर्ध्नि जपेन्मन्त्रं ज्वरमुक्तो भवेज्ज्वरी
Meditating, one should recite the mantra upon the crown of the head; the afflicted person becomes free from fever.
जुहुयादमृताखण्डैरयुतं ज्वरशान्तये
One should offer ten thousand oblations with pieces of nectar for the pacification of fever.
ध्यात्वा जपेत्स्पृशन्नार्तं पाणिभ्यां ज्वरशान्तये
Meditating, one should recite while touching the suffering person with both hands for the pacification of fever.
यथोक्तैरमृताखण्डैरपमृत्युनिवृत्तये
With the aforementioned pieces of nectar, one should act for the removal of untimely death.
सुतं ध्यात्वा जपेल्लक्षं पुत्रपौत्रादिवृद्धये
Meditating on a son, one should recite the mantra a hundred thousand times for the increase of sons, grandsons, and others.
तत्काष्ठैरेधिते वह्नौ सुतान्दीर्घायुषो लभेत्
By offering sons into the fire kindled with that wood, one obtains sons of long life.
प्रातर्ज्जप्त्वायुतं नारीमभिषिञ्चेद्दिषड्दिनम्
Reciting the mantra ten thousand times in the morning, one should sprinkle a woman for six days.
प्रातर्वाचंयमाश्वत्थदलसंपुटकं जलम्
In the morning, after washing, one should use water contained in a cup made of banyan leaves.
सर्वलक्षणसंपन्नं वन्ध्यापि लभते सुतम्
Even a barren woman obtains a son endowed with all auspicious qualities.
तेजसा तस्य नगरं दहॄन्तं भावयन्हरिम्
By his radiance, imagining Hari, he burns the city.
कृत्याकर्तारमेवास्मै कुपिता नाशयेद्ध्रुवम्
If someone performs sorcery against him, an angry person will surely destroy him.
स्पृशन्तं करपद्माभ्यां घण्टाकर्णकलेवरम्
Touching the body at the ear with lotus-like hands,
महापापयुतो ऽप्येवं पूतो भवति तत्क्षणात्
Even one laden with great sin becomes purified at that very moment.
जुहुयादिष्टयोर्द्विष्ट्यै गुलिका गोमयोद्भवाः
For the destruction of enemies, one should offer pills made from cow dung to the fire prescribed for the ritual.
वर्षन्तं गरुडारूढं ज्वलदग्निमुखैः शरैः
He should meditate on Garuda raining down, mounted, with arrows whose mouths are blazing with fire.
ध्यात्वा सप्तसहस्रं तु जपेन्मन्त्रमनन्यधीः
Meditating, one should recite the mantra seven thousand times with unwavering mind.
ध्यायन्नुत्क्षिप्तवत्सं तु कपित्थफलहारिणम्
Meditating on the calf being lifted up, and the one who steals the fruit of the wood-apple tree,
आत्मानं कंसमथनं ध्यायन्मञ्चान्निपातितम्
Meditating on oneself as the slayer of Kamsa, lying upon a couch.
रिपुजन्मर्क्षवृक्षोत्थसमिद्भिरयुतं निशि
At night, with ten thousand sticks from the arka or vṛkṣa trees growing in the enemy’s land,
अथवा निंबतैलाक्तैर्हुनेधोभिरक्षजैः
Or else, with oblations anointed with neem oil and offered by those born from the eye,
निशादिष्टदलव्योषकार्पासास्थिकरैर्निशि
At night, with the leaves of iṣṭa, long pepper, cotton, and bone fragments,
न शस्तं मारणं कर्म कुर्य्याञ्चेदयुतं हुनेत्
Killing is not a righteous act; if one must, let him offer ten thousand oblations.
पारिजातहरं कृष्णं ध्यायन् लक्षं जपेन्मनुम्
Meditating on Krishna, the remover of the pārijāta, one should recite the mantra a hundred thousand times.
व्याख्यामुद्राकरं कृष्णं रथस्थं भावयञ्जपेत्
Meditating on Krishna, making the gesture of explanation, seated in a chariot, one should recite the mantra.
पावाशपुष्पैर्मध्वक्तैर्लक्षं विद्याप्तयेहुनेत्
With pāvāśa flowers and honey offerings, one should perform a hundred thousand oblations to obtain knowledge.
विश्वरूपधर प्रोद्यद्भानुकोटिसमप्रभम्
He bears the universal form, shining like ten million rising suns.
अर्काग्निद्योतितास्याङ्घ्रिंप्रङ्कज दिव्यभूषणम्
His face and feet are illuminated by the radiance of the sun and fire, O lotus-born, adorned with divine ornaments.
ध्यात्वा लक्ष जपेन्मन्त्रं रक्षणाय समाहितः
Meditating thus, with a focused mind, one should recite the mantra a hundred thousand times for protection.
