समासीनो ऽच्युतो ध्येयो द्रुतहाटकसन्निभः
There, the imperishable one is to be meditated upon, seated, resembling molten gold.
सर्वाङ्गसुंदरः सौम्यः सर्वाभरणभूषितः
Beautiful in every limb, gentle, adorned with all ornaments.
अनाहतोच्छलद्रत्नधारौघकलशं स्पृशन्
Touching a vessel overflowing with streams of jewels from the heart center.
रुक्मिणीसत्यभामे ऽस्य मूर्ध्नि रत्नौघधारया
Rukmiṇī and Satyabhāmā pour streams of jewels upon his head.
नाग्नजिती सुनन्दा च दिशन्त्यौ कलशौ तयोः
Nāgnajitī and Sunandā offer two vessels to them.
रत्ननद्याः समुद्धृत्य रत्नपूर्णौं घटौ तयोः
Having drawn from the river of jewels, they fill those two pots with gems.
बहिः षोडश साहस्रसंख्याकाः परितः प्रियाः
Outside, surrounded on all sides by beloved ones numbering sixteen thousand.
तद्बहिश्चाष्टनिधायः पूरयन्तो धनैर्धराम्
And outside them, the eight treasures, filling the earth with riches.
एवं ध्यात्वा जपेल्लक्षपञ्चकं तद्दशांशतः
Having meditated thus, one should recite the mantra five hundred thousand times, or one-tenth of that.
विलिप्य गन्धपङ्केन लिखेदष्टदलांबुजम्
Having anointed with fragrant paste, one should draw an eight-petaled lotus.
शिष्टैस्तु सप्तदशभिरक्षरैर्वेष्टयेत्स्वरम्
One should encircle the syllable with seventeen prescribed letters.
षट्सु संधिषु षट्कर्णे केसरेषु त्रिशस्त्रिशः
At the six junctions, in the six petals, and in the filaments, place them three by three.
षटूषः संलिख्य तद्बाह्ये वेष्टयेन्मातृकाक्षरैः
After inscribing the six grains, outside of that, one should encircle with the letters of the alphabet.
भूग्रहं चतुरस्रं स्यादष्टवज्रविभूषितम्
The earth diagram should be square, adorned with eight thunderbolts.
संस्कृतं धारयेद्यो वै सोर्ऽच्यते त्रिदशैरपि
Whoever bears this consecrated form is worshipped even by the gods.
विद्महेधीमहियुतौ तन्नो ऽनङ्गः प्रचोदयात्
May we know, may we meditate, may that Ananga inspire us.
हृदयं कामदेवाय ङेंतं सर्वजनप्रियम्
The heart is for Kāma, the beloved of all people.
ज्वल ज्वल प्रज्वलेति प्रोच्य सर्वजनस्य च
Reciting 'Blaze, blaze, blaze forth,' for all people,
प्रोक्तो मदनमन्त्रो ऽष्टचत्वारिंशद्भिरक्षरैः
Thus is declared the Madana-mantra, consisting of forty-eight syllables.
पीठ प्राग्वत्समभ्यर्च्य मूर्ति संकल्प्य मूलतः
Having worshipped the seat as before, and having visualized the form at the root,
आसनादिविभूषान्तं पुनर्न्यासक्रमाद्यजेत्
From the seat to the ornaments, one should again perform the sequence of installation and worship.
शङ्खं चक्रं गदां पद्मं मालां श्रीवत्सकौस्तुभौ
Conch, discus, mace, lotus, garland, Śrīvatsa, and Kaustubha,
षट्कोणेषु षडङ्गानि दिग्दलेषु क्रमाद्यजेत्
At the six corners, the six limbs; on the petals of the directions, worship in order.
पत्राग्रगा महिष्यो ऽष्टौ यजेत्साधकसत्तमः
At the tips of the petals, the best practitioner should worship the eight queens.
इन्द्रनीलमुकुन्दांश्च करालानन्दकच्छपान्
Indranīla, Mukunda, Karāla, Ānanda, and Kacchapa,
तद्बहिर्लोकपालांश्च वज्राद्यानपि पूजयेत्
Outside of that, one should also worship the guardians of the directions and those like Vajra.
प्रीणयेद्दधिखण्डाज्यमिश्रेण तु पयोंऽधसा
One should please them with milk mixed with curd, sugar, and ghee.
उद्वासयेत्स्वहृदये परिवारगणैः सह
One should bid them farewell into one's own heart, together with their attendant groups.
रत्नाभिषेकध्यानेज्या विंशत्यर्णाश्रिते रिता
By means of consecration with jewels, meditation, and worship, the rite is established with twenty fees.
जपहोमार्चनध्यानैर्यो मनुं प्रजपेदमुम्
Whoever recites this mantra with recitation, oblation, worship, and meditation,
