षडक्षरो ऽयं संप्रोक्तः सर्वसिद्धिकरो मनुः
This six-syllabled mantra is declared to bestow all accomplishments.
गोविन्दवह्निचन्द्राढ्यो मनुः श्रीबीजमीरितम्
The mantra, endowed with Govinda, fire, and moon, is said to have the Śrī seed.
शालग्रामे मणौ यन्त्रे मण्डले प्रतिमासु वा
In a Śālagrāma stone, a gem, a device, a diagram, or in images—
एवं यो भजन्ते कृष्णं स याति परमां गतिम्
Thus, whoever worships Kṛṣṇa in this way attains the highest state.
कृष्णश्च देवता कामो बीजं शक्तिर्द्विठो बुधैः
Kṛṣṇa is the deity, desire is the seed, and Śakti is the second, according to the wise.
मूलेन व्यापकं कृत्वा मनुना पुटितानथ
Having made it pervade with the root, then enveloped with the mantra—
दशतत्त्वानि विन्यस्य मूलेन व्यापकं चरेत्
Placing the ten principles, one should move with the root as the pervader.
शीर्षे ललाटे भ्रूमध्ये नेत्रयोः कर्णयोस्तथा
On the head, forehead, between the eyebrows, on the eyes, and on the ears—
उदरे नाभिदेशे च लिङ्गे मूलसरोरुहे
On the abdomen, at the navel, on the organ, and at the root of the lotus—
न्यसेद्धृदन्तान्मन्त्राणां सृष्टिन्यासो ऽयमीरितः
One should place the mantras on the heart and other limbs; this is called the creation-placement.
कट्यां जान्वोर्जङ्घयोश्च गुल्फयोः पादयोस्तथा
On the waist, knees, shanks, ankles, and feet as well—
वदने चिबुके कण्ठे दोर्मूले विन्यसेत्क्रमात्
On the mouth, chin, throat, and at the base of the arms, one should place them in order.
पादयोर्गुल्फयोश्चैव जङ्घयोर्जानुनोस्तथा
And likewise upon the feet, the ankles, the shins, and the knees.
दोर्मूले कण्ठदेशे च चिबुके वदने नसोः
At the base of the arms, the region of the neck, the chin, the face, and the nostrils.
मूर्ध्नि न्यसेन्मन्त्रवर्णान्संहाराख्यो ऽयमीरितः
Upon the crown, one should place the syllables of the mantra; this is called the 'saṃhāra' (dissolution).
मूर्तिपञ्जरनामानं विन्यसेत्पूर्ववत्ततः
Then, as before, one should establish the so-called 'mūrti-pañjara' (cage of the form).
द्वारवत्यां सहस्रार्कभास्वरैर्भवनोत्तमैः
In Dvārakā, with splendid mansions shining like a thousand suns.
ज्वलद्रत्न मयस्तंभद्वारतोरणकुड्यके
With pillars, gateways, and walls made of blazing jewels.
पद्मरागस्थलीराजद्रत्नसंघैश्च मध्यतः
In the center, with clusters of gems upon a platform of ruby.
रत्नप्रदीपावलिभिः प्रदीपितदिगन्तरे
Illuminated in every direction by rows of jeweled lamps.
समासीनो ऽच्युतो ध्येयो द्रुतहाटकसन्निभः
There, the imperishable one is to be meditated upon, seated, resembling molten gold.
सर्वाङ्गसुंदरः सौम्यः सर्वाभरणभूषितः
Beautiful in every limb, gentle, adorned with all ornaments.
अनाहतोच्छलद्रत्नधारौघकलशं स्पृशन्
Touching a vessel overflowing with streams of jewels from the heart center.
रुक्मिणीसत्यभामे ऽस्य मूर्ध्नि रत्नौघधारया
Rukmiṇī and Satyabhāmā pour streams of jewels upon his head.
नाग्नजिती सुनन्दा च दिशन्त्यौ कलशौ तयोः
Nāgnajitī and Sunandā offer two vessels to them.
रत्ननद्याः समुद्धृत्य रत्नपूर्णौं घटौ तयोः
Having drawn from the river of jewels, they fill those two pots with gems.
बहिः षोडश साहस्रसंख्याकाः परितः प्रियाः
Outside, surrounded on all sides by beloved ones numbering sixteen thousand.
तद्बहिश्चाष्टनिधायः पूरयन्तो धनैर्धराम्
And outside them, the eight treasures, filling the earth with riches.
एवं ध्यात्वा जपेल्लक्षपञ्चकं तद्दशांशतः
Having meditated thus, one should recite the mantra five hundred thousand times, or one-tenth of that.
विलिप्य गन्धपङ्केन लिखेदष्टदलांबुजम्
Having anointed with fragrant paste, one should draw an eight-petaled lotus.
