वेणुवीणाहेमयष्टिशङ्खशृङ्गादिपाणयः
Holding flute, vīṇā, golden staff, conch, horn, and other such instruments in their hands.
मन्दारदींश्च तद्बाह्ये पूजयेत्कल्पपादपान्
Outside of that, one should worship celestial wish-fulfilling trees made of coral and other precious materials.
कल्पद्रुमस्ततः पश्चाद्ध्वरिचन्दनसंज्ञकः
Then, behind that, the wish-fulfilling tree known as Hvaricandana.
तदस्त्राणि च संपूज्य यजेत्कृष्णाष्टकेन च
Having duly worshipped those weapons, one should perform worship with the Kṛṣṇāṣṭaka hymn.
नारायणं यदुश्रेष्ठं वार्ष्णेयं धर्मपालकम्
Nārāyaṇa, the foremost of the Yadus, the descendant of Vṛṣṇi, the protector of dharma.
एभिरावरणैः पूजा कर्तव्यासुखैरिणः
With these enclosures, worship should be performed, O seeker of happiness.
एवं पूजादिभिः सिद्धा भवद्वैश्रवणो यमः
Thus, by such worship and related acts, Vaiśravaṇa and Yama have attained perfection.
श्रीमदुद्यानसंवीतिहेमभूरत्नमण्डपे
In a splendid pavilion of gold, adorned with precious gems, within a divine garden.
सुत्रामरत्नसंकाशं गुडस्निग्धालकं शिशुम्
A child, radiant like a string of immortal gems, with soft, curly hair.
स्फुरद्विमलरत्नयुक्कनकसूत्रनद्ध दधत्सुवर्णपरिमण्डितं सुभगपैण्डरीकं नखम्
Wearing anklets studded with pure, shining jewels and bound with golden cords, with beautiful lotus-like nails adorned with gold.
कटीलस्थले चारुजङ्घान्तयुग्मं पिनद्धं क्वणत्किङ्किणीजालदाम्ना
On the slender waist and lovely pair of shanks, fastened with a tinkling girdle of small bells.
दधानं करो दक्षिणे पायसान्न सुहैयङ्गवीनं तथा वामहस्ते
Holding in the right hand a vessel of milk-rice and pure clarified butter, and likewise in the left hand.
महाभारभूतामरारातियूथांस्ततः पूतनादीन्निहॄन्तुं प्रवृत्तम्
Then, he set forth to destroy the hosts of enemies of the gods, such as Pūtanā and others, who had become the great burden of the earth.
दध्ना गुडेन नैवेद्यं दत्वा दशशतं जपेत्
After offering food made of curds and jaggery as oblation, one should recite the mantra one thousand times.
नारदाद्यैर्मुनिगणैः सुरवृन्दैश्च पूजितम्
He is worshipped by groups of sages led by Nārada, as well as by assemblies of gods.
शिखण्डिच्छदापीडमब्जायताक्षं लसञ्चिल्लिकं पूर्णचद्राननं च
He is adorned with a peacock-feather crown, has lotus-like eyes, a shining cheek, and a face radiant as the full moon.
सुकार्तस्वराभांबरं दिव्यभूषं क्वणत्किङ्किणीजालमत्तानुलेपम्
He wears garments of beautiful, melodious hues, divine ornaments, a network of tinkling bells, and is anointed with intoxicating unguents.
दक्षे तथैवेप्सितदानदक्षं ध्यात्वार्चयेन्नन्दजमिन्दिराप्त्यै
Meditating on him as skilled in granting desired gifts, one should worship the son of Nanda for the attainment of Lakṣmī.
अपूपपायसान्नाद्यैर्नैवैद्यं परिकल्पयेत्
One should prepare offerings of cakes, milk-rice, and other foods as oblation.
स्वस्वदिक्षु बलिं दद्याद्दिशेदाचमनं ततः
One should place offerings in all directions, then instruct the ritual sipping of water.
अह्नो मध्ये यजेदेवं यः कृष्णं वैष्णवोत्तमः
Whoever, being a foremost devotee of Viṣṇu, worships Kṛṣṇa in this way at midday—
मेधायुःश्रीकान्तियुक्तः पुत्रैः पौत्रैश्च वर्द्धते
He increases in intelligence, lifespan, beauty, and prosperity, along with sons and grandsons.
सायाह्ने निशि वेत्यत्र वदन्त्येके विपश्चितः
Some learned ones say that this should be done in the evening or at night.
उभयीमुभयेनैव कुर्यादित्यपरे जगुः
Others declare that it should be performed at both times, using both methods.
अष्टसाहस्रसंख्यातैर्भवनैरुपमण्डिते
In a splendid palace adorned with eight thousand mansions—
सरोभिर्नीलांभोभिः परीते भवनोत्तमे
Surrounded by lakes filled with blue water, in the supreme mansion—
हेमांभोजासनासीनं कृष्णं त्रैलोक्यमोहनम्
Kṛṣṇa, who enchants the three worlds, sits upon a golden lotus seat.
तेभ्यो मुनिभ्यः स्वं धाम दिशन्तं परमक्षरम्
He bestows his own supreme, imperishable abode upon those sages.
स्निग्धं कुन्तलसंभिन्नकिरीटवनमालिनम्
He is gentle, with hair interwoven with a crown and garlands of forest flowers.
श्रीवत्सवक्षसं भ्राजत्कौस्तुभं सुमनोहरम्
His chest bears the mark of Śrīvatsa, he shines with the Kaustubha gem, and is supremely beautiful.
