यः सेवते सदा विप्र श्रीमञ्चक्रावतारकम्
Whoever always worships, O brāhmaṇa, the glorious Cakrāvatāraka,
मयैतत्कवचं विप्र दत्तात्रेयान्मुनीश्वरात्
This armor, O brāhmaṇa, I received from the sage Dattātreya.
श्रुतं तुभ्यं निगदितं धारयस्वाखिलेष्टदम्
It has been heard and spoken to you; bear it, for it grants all desires.
मोहविध्वंसनं जैत्रं मारुतेः कवचं शृणु
Hear the armor of Māruti, which destroys delusion and brings victory.
भूतप्रेतारिजं दुःखं नाशमेति न संशयः
Suffering caused by ghosts and spirits is destroyed, without doubt.
आनन्दवनिकासंस्थं ध्यायन्तं स्वात्मनः पदम्
Meditating on the abode of his own self, established in the grove of bliss.
नमस्कृत्य तदादिष्टमासनं स्थितवान् पुरः
Having bowed, he took the seat indicated to him and remained standing before them.
पृष्टं प्रोवाच राजेन्द्रः श्रीरामः स्वयमादरात्
When questioned, King Śrī Rāma himself spoke with respect.
मह्यं तत्ते प्रवक्ष्यामि न प्रकाश्यं हि कुत्रचित्
I will tell you this, but it must not be revealed anywhere.
श्रीरामेणाञ्जनासूनासूनोर्भुक्तिमुक्तिप्रदायकम्
By Śrī Rāma, son of Aṅjanā, this grants both enjoyment and liberation.
पातु प्रतीच्यामक्षघ्नः सौम्ये सागरतारकः
May he who destroys misfortune, gentle and ocean-crossing, protect from the west.
अधस्ताद्विष्णुभक्तस्तु पातु मध्ये च पावनिः
Below, may the devotee of Viṣṇu protect, and in the middle, the purifier.
सुग्रीवसचिवः पातु मस्तकं वायुनन्दनः
May the son of the wind, Sugrīva’s minister, protect the head.
नेत्रे छायापहारी च पातु नः प्लवगेश्वरः
May the lord of the monkeys, who dispels darkness, protect our eyes.
नासाग्रमञ्जनासूनुः पातु वक्त्रं हरीश्वरः
May the son of Aṅjanā protect the tip of the nose, and the lord of monkeys the mouth.
भुजौ पातु महातेजाः करौ च चरणायुधः
May the mighty one protect the arms, and he who wields weapons with hands and feet protect the hands.
वक्षो मुद्रापहारी च पातु पार्श्वे भुजायुधः
May he who took the ring protect the chest, and he who wields arms as weapons protect the sides.
नाभिं श्रीरामभक्तस्तु कटिं पात्वनिलात्मजः
May the devotee of Śrī Rāma protect the navel, and the son of the wind protect the waist.
ऊरू च जानुनी पातु लङ्काप्रासादभञ्जनः
May the destroyer of the palaces of Laṅkā protect the thighs and knees.
अचलोद्धारकः पातु पादौ भास्करसन्निभः
May he who lifted the mountain, radiant as the sun, protect the feet.
मुखाङ्गानि महाशूरः पातु रोमाणि चात्मवान्
May the great hero protect the features of the face, and the self-controlled one the hairs.
स्थितं व्रजन्तमासीनं पिबन्तं जक्षतं कपिः
Whether standing, going, sitting, drinking, or eating—may the monkey protect.
प्रमत्तमप्रमत्तं वा शयानं गहनेंऽबुनि
Whether careless or careful, sleeping, or in a dense forest—
संग्रामे संकटे घोरे विराङ्रूपधरो ऽवतु
In battle, in terrible danger, may he who assumes heroic forms protect.
शयानं मां विभुः पातु पिशाचोरगराक्षसीः
May the Lord protect me as I lie down, from demons, serpents, and female fiends.
साधकेन्द्रावनः शश्वत्पातु सर्वत एव माम्
May the foremost sage of the forest always guard me on every side.
स सर्वरूपः सर्वज्ञः सृष्टिस्थितिकरो ऽवतु
May He, who is of all forms, all-knowing, and the creator and sustainer, protect me.
सूर्यमण्डलगः श्रीदः पातु कालत्रये ऽपि माम्
May He, who dwells in the solar orb and bestows prosperity, protect me in all three times.
देवा मनुष्यास्तिर्यञ्चः स्थावरा जङ्गमास्तथा
The gods, humans, animals, immobile and mobile beings likewise—
यस्यानेककथाः पुण्याः श्रूयन्ते प्रतिकल्पके
Of whom many auspicious stories are heard in every cycle of creation—
