मनोबुद्वीन्द्रियहराः स्फोटकाश्च महाग्रहाः
Those who steal mind, intellect, and senses, eruptions, and great afflictions,
दिवाचरा रात्रिचरा ये च संध्यासु दारुणाः
Those who move by day, those who move by night, and those dreadful at the twilights,
ते सर्वे कार्त्तवीर्यस्य धनुर्मुक्तशराहताः
All these were struck down by the arrows released from Kārtavīrya’s bow.
ये सर्पा ये महानागा महागिरिबिलेशयाः
All the serpents, the great nāgas, dwelling in the caves of great mountains,
अनन्तशूलिकाद्याश्च दंष्ट्राविषमहाभयाः
Those like Ananta and Śūlika, and others, terrifying with fangs and deadly venom,
महाविषजलौकाश्च वृश्चिका रुक्तपुच्छकाः
Great poisonous leeches, scorpions, and those with blood-red tails,
जलसर्पा जलव्याला जलग्राहाश्च कच्छपाः
Water-snakes, water-beasts, crocodiles, and turtles,
जलजाः स्थलजाश्चैव कृत्रिमाश्च महाविषाः
Aquatic, terrestrial, and even artificial beings, all possessing great poison,
नानाविषाश्च ये घोरा महोपविषसंज्ञकाः
Various poisonous beings, terrifying, known as the most deadly,
ते सर्वे कार्तवीर्यस्य खङ्कसाहस्रदारिताः
All these were split apart by the thousand blows of Kārtavīrya’s sword.
मनुष्याः पशवो त्वृक्षवानरा वनगोचराः
Humans, animals, tigers, monkeys, and those who dwell in the forest,
गजास्तुरङ्गा गवया रासभाः शरभा वृकाः
Elephants, horses, wild oxen, donkeys, sharabhas, and wolves,
शृगालाः शशकाः श्येना गुरुत्मन्तो विहॄङ्गमाः
Jackals, hares, hawks, and other heavy-bodied birds,
उद्भिज्जाश्चाण्डजाश्चैव स्वेदजाश्च जरायुजाः
Those born from eggs, from sweat, from the earth, and from the womb,
ये ऽस्मान्बाधितुमिच्छन्ति सेध्यासु च दिवा निशि
Whoever wishes to trouble us, whether by day or by night,
दूरादेव विनश्यन्तु विनष्टगतिपौरुषाः
Let them perish from afar, their strength and power destroyed.
मारणोत्सादनोन्मूलद्वेषमोहनकारकाः
Those who cause death, destruction, uprooting, hatred, or delusion,
ये चाततायिनो दुष्टा ये पापा गोप्यहारिणः
And those wicked aggressors, those sinners who steal in secret,
क्षेत्रवित्तादिहरणबन्धनादिभयप्रदाः
Who bring fear by seizing land, wealth, or through imprisonment and the like,
पीडाकरा ये सततं छिद्रमिच्छन्ति बाधितुम्
Those who always cause suffering, seeking an opening to harm,
दूरादेव क्षयं यान्तु विनष्टबलसाहसाः
Let them be destroyed from afar, their strength and boldness lost.
ये महाशनयो दीप्ता ये निर्घाताश्च दारुणाः
Those who are fierce, blazing, and terrible like thunderbolts,
सूर्येन्दुकुजसौम्याश्च गुरुकाव्यशनैश्चराः
The Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn,
तिथयः संक्रमा मासा हायना युगनायकाः
The lunar days, transitions, months, years, and lords of the ages,
निधयो ऋग्यजुःसामाथर्वाणश्चैव वह्नयः
The treasures, the Rig, Yajur, Sama, and Atharva Vedas, and the fires,
विद्याश्चैव चतुःषष्टिभेदा या भुवनत्रये
And the sixty-four branches of knowledge in the three worlds,
ते संतु नः सदा सौम्याः सर्वकालसुखावहाः
May they always be gentle toward us, bringing happiness at all times.
कार्तवीर्यार्जुनो धन्वी राजेन्द्रो हैहयेश्वरः
Kārtavīryārjuna, the wielder of the bow, the king, lord of the Haihayas,
दुःखहा चौरदमनो राजराजेश्वरः प्रभुः
Remover of sorrow, subduer of thieves, lord of kings, the mighty one,
राजचूडामणिर्योगी सप्तद्वीपाधिनायकः
The crest-jewel among kings, a yogi, ruler of the seven continents,
