समुद्धृतमहाछत्त्रवितानितवियत्पथे
With a great white umbrella raised, shading the path of the sky.
सुस्थितं विपुलोदारं सहस्रभुजमण्डितम्
Firmly established, vast and noble, adorned with a thousand arms.
किरीटहारमुकुटकेयूरवलयाङ्गदैः
Adorned with crowns, necklaces, diadems, armlets, bracelets, and bangles.
भूषितं विविधाकल्पैर्भास्वरैः सुमहाधनैः
Decorated with various splendid and immensely valuable ornaments.
धनुर्ज्या सिंहनादेन कंपयन्तं जगत्त्रयम्
Shaking the three worlds with the lion's roar of his bowstring.
सर्वसंपत्प्रदातारं विजयश्रीनिषेवितम्
Bestower of all prosperity, attended by the goddess of victory.
दिव्यमाल्यानुलेपाढ्यं सर्वलक्षणसंयुतम्
Endowed with divine garlands and ointments, possessing all auspicious marks.
वरदं चक्रवर्तीनं सर्वलोकैकपालकम्
The granter of boons, the universal emperor, the sole protector of all worlds.
महायोगभवैश्वर्यकीर्त्याक्रान्तजगत्त्रयम्
Who has conquered the three worlds by the glory of his great yogic power and fame.
सम्यगात्मादिभेदेन ध्यात्वा रक्षामुदीरयेत्
Having meditated properly on him in the forms of self and others, one should recite the protection.
अग्नीशासुरवायव्यकोणेषु हृदयादिकाः
In the corners of Agni, Īśa, Asura, and Vāyu, may the deities presiding over the heart and other centers be present.
अव्याहतबलैश्वर्यशक्तिसामर्थ्यविग्रहाः
They possess unimpeded strength, sovereignty, power, capability, and form.
प्राचीं दिशं रक्षतु मे बाणबाणासनायुधः
May he who wields arrows, a bow, and a missile protect me in the eastern direction.
शरचापधरः श्रीमान् दिशं मे पातु दक्षिणाम्
May the illustrious one, bearing a bow and arrows, protect my southern direction.
महेषुचापधृक्पातु मम प्राचेतसीं दिशम्
May the bearer of the great bow and arrows protect my western direction.
परिरक्षतु मे सम्यग्विदिशं चैत्रभानवीम्
May he thoroughly protect me in the intermediate direction called Caitrabhānavī.
पातु मे नैरृतीं चापपाणिर्विदिशमीश्वरः
May the Lord, holding a bow, protect me in the southwestern and the intermediate direction.
इष्वासनेषुधृक्पातु विदिशं मम वायवीम्
May the one holding a bow and arrows protect my northwestern intermediate direction.
चापेषुधारी शैवीं मे विदिशं परिरक्षतु
May the bearer of bow and arrows protect my Shaiva intermediate direction.
दिशमूर्द्ध्वामवतु मे सर्वदुष्टभयङ्करः
May the one who terrifies all wicked beings protect my upward direction.
परिरक्षतु मे दुःखध्वान्तसम्भेदभास्करः
May the one who is the sun that dispels the darkness of suffering thoroughly protect me.
महायोगीश्वरः पातु सर्वतो मम पद्मभृत्
May the great Lord of Yogis, the lotus-bearer, protect me on all sides.
प्रधानदेवतारूपाः पृथग्रथवरे स्थिताः
The principal deities, each established in their respective places, take form.
शुक्लमाल्यानुवसनाः सुलिप्ततिलकोज्ज्वलाः
They are adorned with white garlands and garments, and their bright foreheads are beautifully marked.
स्वस्वदिक्षु स्थिताः पान्तु मामिन्द्राद्या महाबलाः
May Indra and the other mighty ones, stationed in their own directions, protect me.
सर्वतो मां सदा पातुं सर्वशक्तिसमन्विताः
Endowed with all powers, may they always protect me from every side.
तेजोरूपाः स्थिताः पातुं वाञ्छासुखनद्रुमाः
May those who are forms of radiance, standing as wish-fulfilling trees of happiness, protect me.
व्यापकत्वेन पान्त्वस्मानापादतलमस्तकम्
By their all-pervasiveness, may they protect us from the soles of our feet to the crown of our heads.
सुमुखो मे मुखं पातु कर्णौं व्याप्तजगत्त्रयः
May Sumukha protect my mouth, and may He who pervades the three worlds protect my ears.
नयनं पुंमडरीकाक्षगो नासिकां मे गुणाकरः
May He whose eyes are like blue lotuses protect my eyes, and may the Abode of Virtues protect my nose.
