तस्य दुःस्वप्नचौरादिभयं नैव भवेत्क्वचित्
For him, there will never be fear from bad dreams, thieves, and the like.
वर्मास्त्रान्तो महामन्त्रो द्वादशार्णो ऽष्टसिद्धिकृत्
This great mantra, consisting of twelve syllables, is the end of armor and weapons, and grants the eight powers.
हनुमान्देवतां बीजमाद्यं शक्तिर्हुमीरिता
Hanuman is the deity, the seed is the first syllable, and the power is expressed by 'hum'.
महाशैलं समुत्पाट्य धावन्तं रावणं प्रति
Uprooting a great mountain, running towards Ravana—
ज्वलदग्निसमं जैत्रं सूर्यकोटिसमप्रभम्
Blazing like fire, victorious, shining like ten million suns.
तिष्ठ तिष्ठ रणे दुष्ट सृजन्तं घोरनिः स्वनम्
Crying out, 'Stop, stop in battle, O wicked one!' making a terrible sound.
दशांशं जुहुयाद्वीहीन्पयोदध्याज्यमिश्रितान्
One should offer one-tenth part of rice mixed with milk and ghee.
मूर्तिं संकल्प्य मूलेन पूजा कार्या हनूमतः
Conceiving the form with the root mantra, one should perform the worship of Hanuman.
अथास्य साधनं वक्ष्ये लोकानां हितकाम्यया
Now I will declare its practice, for the welfare of the worlds.
एतद्गुह्यतमं लोके शीघ्रसिद्धिकरं परम्
This is the most secret in the world, and grants swift accomplishment, supreme.
प्रातः स्नात्वा नदीतीरे उपविश्य कुशासने
In the morning, after bathing on the riverbank, sitting on a seat of kusa grass—
पुष्पाञ्जल्यष्टकं दत्वा ध्यात्वा रामं ससीतकम्
Offering eight handfuls of flowers, meditating on Rama with Sita—
कुचन्दनेन घृष्टेन संलिखेत्तच्छलाकया
With a stick smeared with sandalwood, one should draw (the form).
मूर्तिं मूलेन संकल्प्य ध्यात्वा पाद्यादिकं चरेत्
Conceiving the form with the root mantra, meditating, one should perform the offerings beginning with water for the feet.
केसरेषु षडङ्गानि दलेषु च ततोर्ऽचयेत्
He should worship the six limbs on the filaments and also on the petals.
जांबवन्तं च कुमुदं केसरीशं दलेर्ऽचयेत्
He should worship Jāmbavanta, Kumuda, and the lord of the filaments on the petals.
एवं सिद्धे मनौ मन्त्री साधयेत्स्वेष्टमात्मनि
Thus, when the mantra is perfected, the minister should accomplish his desired aim within himself.
साधयेत्साधक श्रेष्ठो भूमिग्रहणपूर्वकम्
The best among practitioners should accomplish it, having first taken possession of the ground.
दिग्बन्ध नादिकं कृत्वा न्यासध्यानादिपूर्वकम्
Having performed the binding of the directions and the like, preceded by nyāsa, meditation, and so on,
लक्षान्ति दिवसं प्राप्य कुर्य्याञ्च पूजनं महत्
Having reached a hundred thousand in a day, he should perform a great worship.
दिवारात्रौ जपं कुर्याद्यावत्संदर्शनं भवेत्
He should recite day and night until the vision occurs.
सुप्रसन्नस्ततो भूत्वा प्रयाति साधकाग्रतः
Then, being well pleased, he appears before the foremost practitioner.
वरं लब्ध्वा साधकन्द्रो विहरेदात्मनः सुखैः
Having obtained a boon, the best of practitioners may enjoy happiness for himself.
प्रकाशितं रहस्यं वै देवानामपि दुर्लभम्
This secret has been revealed, indeed difficult to obtain even for the gods.
वियदिन्दुयुतं पश्चान्ङेंतं पवननन्दनम्
Afterwards, with the sky and moon, one should meditate on the son of the wind.
मुन्यादिकं च पूर्वोक्तं षडङ्गान्यपि पूर्ववत्
Also, as previously stated, the sages and others, and the six limbs as before.
धावन्तं रावणं जेतुं दृष्ट्वा सत्वरमुत्थितम्
Seeing Ravana running forth swiftly to conquer,
गुरुं च क्रोधमुत्पाद्य ग्रहोतुं गुरुपर्वतम्
He should generate anger towards the guru and seize the great mountain.
आब्रह्माण्डं समाख्याप्य कृत्वा भीमं कलेवरम्
Having proclaimed throughout the universe, he assumes a terrible form.
पूर्ववत्पूजनं प्रोक्तं मन्त्र स्यास्य विधानतः
As before, worship is prescribed according to the rule of this mantra.
