नश्यन्ति तत्क्षणादेव विद्वेषिग्रहदानवाः
Hostile planets and demons are destroyed instantly.
भूतापस्मारकृत्योत्थज्वरे तन्मन्त्रमन्त्रितैः
Fevers caused by spirits, epilepsy, and witchcraft are removed by those mantras.
त्रिदिनाज्ज्वरमुक्तो ऽसौ सुखं च लभते नरः
After three days, the fever leaves him and the person attains comfort.
सर्वान्रोगान्पराभूय सुखी भवति तत्क्षणात्
All diseases are overcome and he becomes happy at that very moment.
योद्धुं गच्छेच्च यो मन्त्री शस्त्रसंघैर्ंन बाध्यते
If a minister goes to fight, he is not troubled by groups of weapons.
त्रिर्जप्तेन च संस्पृष्टाः शुष्यन्त्येव न संशयः
Touched after being recited three times, they dry up completely, without doubt.
मन्त्रं सप्तदिनं यावञ्चादाय भस्मकीलकौ
Taking the mantra together with ashes and a nail for seven days,
विद्वेषं मिथ आपन्नाः पलायन्ते ऽरयो ऽचिरात्
Those who have fallen into mutual enmity, their enemies quickly flee.
भक्ष्यादियोजितं यस्मै ददाति स तु दासवत्
To whomever one gives food and the like, prepared with this, that person becomes like a servant.
गृहीत्वेशनदिस्कंस्थं करञ्जतरुमूलकम्
Having taken a vessel from the dining area, and the root of the karañja tree,
कृत्वा प्राणप्रतिष्टां च सिंदूराद्यैः प्रपूज्य च
After establishing the life-force and duly worshipping with vermilion and such,
ग्रहाभिचाररोगाग्निविषचौरनृपोद्भवाः
Afflictions arising from planets, sorcery, disease, fire, poison, thieves, or kings—
तद्गृहं धनपुत्राद्यैरेधते प्रत्यहं चिरम्
In that house, wealth, sons, and so on increase daily for a long time.
शत्रोः प्रतिकृतिं कृत्वा हृदि नाम समालिखेत्
Making an image of the enemy, one should inscribe the name on its heart.
मन्त्रान्ते प्रोञ्चरेच्छत्रोर्नाम छिन्धि च भिन्धि च
At the end of the mantra, one should utter the enemy’s name, saying: 'Sever! Break!'
पाण्योस्तले प्रपीड्याथ त्यक्त्वा तं स्वगृहं व्रजेत्
After pressing it between the palms, one should abandon it and return home.
राजिकालवणैर्मुक्तचिकुरः पितृकानने
With mustard seeds and salt, hair unbound, in the ancestral forest,
द्विक(काक)कौशिकगृध्राणां पक्षैः श्लेष्मान्तकाक्षजैः
With the feathers of an owl, crow, vulture, and mucus from the eyes of a crow,
एवं सप्तदिनं कुर्वन्मारयेदुद्धतं रिपुन्
Doing this for seven days, one can destroy an arrogant enemy.
ततो वेताल उत्थाय वदेद्भावि शुभाशुभम्
Then a spirit arises and declares what is to come, auspicious or inauspicious.
भास्मांबुमन्त्रितं रात्रौ सहस्रावृत्तिकं पुनः
Ash, water, and mantra, at night, repeated a thousand times again,
यासु कासु च स्थूलासु लघुष्वपि विशेषतः
In any of the gross or especially the subtle ones,
अष्टम्यां वा चतुर्दश्यां कुजे वा रविवासरे
On the eighth or fourteenth day, or on a Tuesday or Sunday,
कुर्याद्रम्यां विशुद्धात्मा सर्वलक्षणलक्षिताम्
One should perform the rite, pure in mind, marked by all auspicious signs.
संस्थाप्यावाहयेत्पश्चान्मूलमन्त्रेण मन्त्रवित्
Having established it, the knower of mantras should then invoke it with the root mantra.
रक्तचन्दनपुष्पैश्च सिंदूराद्यैः समर्चयेत्
He should worship with red sandalwood flowers and with vermilion and similar substances.
अपूपमोदनं शाकमोदकान्वटकादिकम्
He should offer rice cakes, cooked rice, vegetables, sweetmeats, fried balls, and the like.
अखण्डितान्यहिलतादलानि सप्तविंशतिम्
He should offer twenty-seven whole, unbroken tender leaves.
एवं संपूज्य मन्त्रज्ञो जपेद्दशशन्त मनुम्
Thus having worshipped, the knower of mantras should recite the mantra ten times in peace.
निजेप्सितं निवेद्याथ विधिवद्विसृजेत्ततः
Then, having offered his desired intention, he should properly dismiss it thereafter.
