कन्यार्थी विमलापाणिग्रहणासक्तमानसः
A man seeking a bride, whose mind is intent on a pure marriage,
ईप्सितां लभते कन्यां शीग्रमेव न संशयः
quickly obtains the desired maiden—of this there is no doubt.
ध्यात्वा च विधिवन्नित्यं जपेन्मासत्रयं मनुम्
Meditating properly, he should recite the mantra for three months continuously.
सर्वासामपि विद्यानां तत्त्वज्ञो जायते नरः
By this, a man becomes a knower of the true essence of all branches of knowledge.
ध्यायंल्लक्षं जपेन्मन्त्रं मुच्यते महतो भयात्
By meditating a hundred thousand times and reciting the mantra, one is freed from great fear.
सर्वपापविनिर्मुक्तो याति विष्णोः परं पदम्
Freed from all sins, he attains the supreme abode of Vishnu.
स्वाचारनियतो दान्तो गृहस्थो विजितेन्द्रियः
A householder, self-controlled, disciplined in his own conduct, with senses subdued,
स सर्वान्पुण्यपापौधान्दग्ध्वा निर्मलमानसः
burns away all heaps of merit and demerit, and becomes pure in mind.
सकामो वाञ्छितान् लब्ध्वा भुक्त्वा भोगान् मनोगतान्
With desires, having obtained what is wished for, enjoying pleasures as imagined in the mind,
निद्राचन्द्रान्विता पश्चाद्भरताय हृदन्तिमः
afterwards, accompanied by sleep and the moon, the final syllable for Bharata is 'hṛ'.
बकः सेंदुश्च शत्रुध्नपरं ङेतं हृदन्तिमः
'Baka', 'seṃdu', and 'śatrudhna'—the final syllable for 'hṛ' is indicated.
सप्ताक्षरो ऽयं शत्रुध्नमन्त्रः सर्वेष्टसिद्धिदः
This seven-syllabled mantra of 'śatrudhna' grants all desired accomplishments.
यान्समाराध्य विप्रेन्द्र तत्तुल्याचरणा नराः
O best of Brahmins, those men who worship these, following the same practice,
हसफआग्निनिशाधीशाःद्वितीयं बीजमीरितम्
'ha', 'sa', 'pha', 'āgni', 'niśādha', 'īśa'—the second seed syllable is stated.
वियद्भृग्वग्निमन्विन्दुयुक्तं स्याञ्च चतुर्थकम्
'Vi', 'yad', 'bhṛgu', 'agni', 'man', with 'bindu'—thus is the fourth syllable.
मन्विन्द्वाढ्यौ हसौ षष्टं ङेंतः स्याद्धनुमांस्ततः
'Man', 'vind', 'vāḍhya', 'ha', 'sa'—the sixth is 'ṅeṃtaḥ', then 'hanumān' after that.
रामचन्द्रो मुनिश्चास्य जगतीछन्द ईरितम्
'Rāmacandra' and 'muni' are his; the meter of this is 'jagatī', as stated.
षड्बीजैश्च षडङ्गानि शिरोभाले दृशोर्मुखे
With six seed syllables and six limbs: on the head, forehead, eyes, and mouth.
ध्वजे जानुद्वये पादद्वये वर्णान्क्रमान्न्यसेत्
On the banner, place the colors in order upon the two knees and the two feet.
नाभावूर्वोर्जङ्घयोश्च पादयोर्विन्यसेत्क्रमात्
Arrange them sequentially upon the navel, thighs, shanks, and feet.
उद्यत्कोट्यर्कसंकाशं जगत्प्रक्षोभकारकम्
He is radiant like the rising edge of the sun, causing agitation in the world.
वित्रासयन्तं नादेन राक्षसान्मारुतिं भजेत्
One should worship Maruti, who terrifies the demons with his roar.
दशांशं जुहुयाद्बीहीन्पयोदध्याज्यमिश्रितान्
Offer one-tenth as oblations, mixed with rice, milk, and clarified butter.
आवाह्य तत्र संपूज्य पाद्यादिभिरुपायनैः
Having invoked him there, honor him with offerings such as water for the feet and others.
रामभक्तो महातेजाः कपिराजो महाबलः
He is devoted to Rama, of great brilliance, king of the monkeys, and of immense strength.
दक्षिणाशाभास्करश्च सर्वविघ्नविनाशकः
He is the sun of the southern quarter, destroyer of all obstacles.
सुग्रीवमङ्गद नीलं जांबवन्तं नलं तथा
Also honor Sugriva, Angada, Nila, Jambavan, and Nala.
वज्राद्यानपि संपूज्य सिद्धश्चैवं मनुर्भवेत्
Having worshipped Vajra and others, thus the mantra becomes accomplished.
यो नरस्तस्य नश्यन्ति राजशत्रूत्थभीतयः
For the man who does this, the fears arising from royal enemies are destroyed.
द्वाविंशतिब्रह्मचारि विप्रान्संभोजयेच्छुचीन्
He should feed twenty-two pure brahmacari priests.
