संरक्षिता विष्णुसुदर्शनेन दैत्यान्तकेन स्वजनानुकम्पिना
She was protected by Vishnu's Sudarshana, the destroyer of Daityas, compassionate to his own people.
स वह्निरदितिं मुक्त्वा कथं तानदहत्क्षणात्
How did that fire, leaving Aditi unharmed, burn them in an instant?
परोपदेशनिरताः सज्जना हि मुनीश्वराः
For the noble sages are always devoted to instructing others.
हरिध्यानपरान्साधून्कः समर्थः प्रबाधितुम्
Who is capable of harming the virtuous who are absorbed in meditation on Hari?
देवाः सिद्धा मुनीश्वाश्च नित्यं तिष्टन्ति सत्तमाः
The gods, the Siddhas, and the great sages always remain among the excellent.
हरिनामपराणां च किमु ध्यानरतात्मनाम्
What then of those whose minds are absorbed in meditation, devoted to the name of Hari?
यत्र तिष्टति तत्रैव लक्ष्मीः सर्वाश्च देवताः
Wherever he abides, there Lakshmi and all the deities are present.
राजा वा तस्करो वापि व्याधयश्च न सन्ति हि
Neither kings nor thieves nor diseases exist there.
डाकिन्यो राक्षसाश्चैव न बाधन्ते ऽच्युतार्चकम्
Witches and demons do not trouble the worshipper of the infallible one.
यत्र तिष्टति तत्रैव सर्वतीर्थानि देवताः
Wherever he abides, there are all sacred places and deities.
तत्रैव सर्वश्रेयांसि तत्तीर्थं तत्तपोवनम्
There itself are all auspicious things; that is the sacred place, that is the hermitage of austerity.
स्तोत्रैर्वाप्यर्हणाभिर्वा किमु ध्यानेन कथ्यते
Whether by hymns or by offerings, what need is there to speak of meditation?
सादितिर्नैव दग्धाभूद्विष्णुचक्राभिर क्षिता
Aditi was not burned or destroyed by the discus of Vishnu.
प्रादुरासीत्समीपे ऽस्याः शङ्खचक्रगदाधरः
Near her appeared the bearer of the conch, discus, and mace.
स्पृशन्करेण पुण्येन प्राह कश्यपवल्लभाम्
Touching her with his holy hand, he addressed the beloved of Kashyapa.
चिरं श्रान्तासि भद्रं ते भविशष्यति न संशयः
You have been weary for a long time; blessings to you, without doubt you will prosper.
मा भैर्भद्रे महाभागे ध्रुवं श्रेयो भविष्यति
Do not fear, O blessed one; surely auspiciousness will come to you.
तुष्टाव प्रणिपत्यैनं सर्वलोकसुखावहम्
She praised him, bowing down, who brings happiness to all worlds.
सत्त्वादिगुणभेदेन लोकव्यापारकारण
By the distinction of the qualities such as sattva, he is the cause of the activity of the worlds.
सर्वैकरुपरुपाय निर्गुणाय गुणात्मने
To the one whose form is singular, who is without qualities, yet whose essence is qualities.
सद्भक्तजनवात्सल्यशालिने मङ्गलात्मने
To the one who is affectionate to true devotees, whose nature is auspiciousness.
तमादिपुरुषं देवं नमामि ह्यर्थसिद्धये
I bow to that primeval Lord, for the attainment of my purpose.
तं नमामि जगद्धेतुं समायं चाप्यमायिनम्
I bow to him, the cause of the universe, who is united and also the magician.
जगद्रूपं जगद्धेतुं तं वन्दें सर्ववन्दितम्
I salute him, whose form is the universe, who is its cause, who is revered by all.
अवापुः परमां सिद्धिं तं वन्दे कमलाधवम्
They attained supreme perfection; I salute the lotus-navelled one.
अत्यासन्नं च भक्तानां तं वन्दे भक्तसंगिनम्
I salute him who is exceedingly close to devotees, who associates with the devoted.
करोति ह्यात्मनः सङ्गं तं देवं सङ्गवर्जितम्
He indeed forms association for himself; I salute that Lord who is free from association.
नमामि यज्ञफलदं यज्ञकर्मप्रबोधकम्
I bow to the giver of the fruit of sacrifice, the awakener of sacrificial acts.
प्रात्पवान्परमं धाम तं वन्दे लोकसाक्षिणम्
I bow to Him, the supreme abode, the witness of all worlds, who appeared at the beginning of creation.
इति लोकस्य नेता यस्तं नमामि जगद्गुरुम्
Thus, I salute Him who is the leader of the world, the teacher of the universe.
