बीजं रामाय ठद्वन्द्वं मन्त्रो ऽयं रसवर्णकः
The seed for Rāma is ṭha-dvandva; this mantra is of the rasa syllables.
सुदर्शनमहाशब्दाच्चक्रराजेश्वरेति च
Sudarśana, Mahāśabda, Cakrarāja, and Īśvara are the names.
छिन्धिद्वयं भिन्धियुग्मं विदारययुगं ततः
Chindhi is twice, Bhindhi is twice, Vidāraya is twice thereafter.
त्रासयद्वितयं वर्मास्त्राग्निजायान्तिमो मनुः
Trāsaya is twice, Varmāstra, Agni, Jaya; the last is the mantra.
तारो हृद्भगवान् ङेंतो ङेंतो हि रघुनन्दनः
Tāra, the Lord in the heart, ṅeṃto, ṅeṃto, indeed Raghunandana.
वरदानायामितान्ते नुतेजसेपदमीरयेत्
For granting boons, at the end, one should utter the word of praise for the seat of power.
सप्तचत्वारिंशदर्णो मालामन्त्रो ऽयमीरितः
This garland-mantra is said to have forty-seven syllables.
श्रीरामो देवता बीजं ध्रुवः शक्तिश्च ठद्वयम्
Śrī Rāma is the deity, the seed; Dhruva is the power, and ṭha is twice.
ध्यानपूजादिकं सर्वमस्य पूर्ववदाचरेत्
All meditation, worship, and related rites for this should be performed as before.
स्वकामसत्यवाग्लक्ष्मीताराढ्यः पञ्चवर्णकः
The five-syllable mantra is to be worshipped by the Tara syllable for one's desired truth, speech, and prosperity.
ब्रह्मा संमोहनः शक्तिर्दक्षिणामूर्तिसंज्ञकः
Brahmā is the spell of enchantment; Śakti is named Dakṣiṇāmūrti.
अथवा कामबीजादेर्विश्वामित्रो मुनिः स्मृतः
Alternatively, Viśvāmitra the sage is remembered as the origin of the seed of desire and others.
बीजशक्तिराधमान्त्यं मन्त्रार्णैः स्यात्षडङ्गकम्
The seed-power is the lowest and final; with the syllables of the mantra, it becomes six-limbed.
ध्यायेत्कल्पतरोर्मूले सुवर्णमयमण्डपे
He should meditate at the root of the wish-fulfilling tree, within a pavilion made of gold.
पद्मे वसुदलेदेवमिन्द्रनीलसमप्रभम्
On a lotus, upon the earth, the god, shining like blue sapphire.
वामोरुन्यस्ततद्धस्तसीतालक्ष्मणसेवितम्
With his left thigh placed, served by Sita and Lakshmana, with that hand.
यद्वा स्मारादिमन्त्राणां जयाभं च हरिं स्मरेत्
Or else, one should remember Hari, resembling victory, with the Smara and other mantras.
रामश्च चन्द्रभ द्रान्तो ङेनमोन्तो ध्रुवादिकः
Rama, shining like the moon, with the syllable 'ṅe' at the end, and with the fixed (dhruva) and other (syllables).
एतेषां यजनं सर्वं कुर्यान्मन्त्री षडर्णवत्
The priest should perform all the worship of these, using the six-syllabled mantra.
दशार्णो ऽयं महामन्त्रो विशिष्टो ऽस्य मुनिः स्वराट्
This ten-syllabled great mantra is distinguished; its sage is Svarat.
स्वाहा शक्तिश्च कामेन कुर्यादङ्गानि षट् क्रमात्
With 'svaha' as the power, by desire, he should perform the six limbs in order.
नाभ्यङ्घ्रिजानुपादेषु दशार्णान्विन्यसेन्मनोः
He should place the ten syllables of the mantra on the navel, feet, knees, and legs.
मन्दारपुष्पैराबद्धविताने तोरणान्विते
With canopies adorned with mandara flowers and furnished with gateways.
रक्षोभिर्हरिभिर्देवैः सुविमानगतैः शुभैः
With Rakshasas, monkeys, and gods, auspicious, riding in splendid aerial chariots.
सीतालङ्कृतवामाङ्गं लक्ष्मणेनोपशोभितम्
With Sita adorning his left side, and Lakshmana enhancing his beauty.
एवं ध्यात्वा जपेन्मन्त्री वर्णलक्षं समाहितः
Having meditated thus, the priest should recite the mantra one hundred thousand times, with concentration.
रामो ङेंन्तो धनुष्पाणिर्ङैतोंऽते वह्निसुंदरी
Rama, with the syllable 'ṅe' at the end, holding a bow in his hand, with the syllable 'ṅai', and Sita, beautiful as fire.
छन्दस्तु देवता प्रोक्तो रामो राक्षसमर्दनः
The meter and the deity are stated; Rama is the destroyer of Rakshasas.
वर्णन्यासं तथा ध्यानं पुरश्चर्यार्चनादिकमन्
The placement of syllables, the meditation, the preliminary rites, worship, and so on.
तारो नमो भगवते रामान्ते चन्द्रभद्रकौ
The syllable 'tāra', 'namo bhagavate', at the end of 'Rama', and 'candrabhadraka'.
