एवं ध्यात्वा जपेन्मन्त्री सहस्रं पायेन चग
Thus meditating, the practitioner should recite the mantra a thousand times, using water for purification.
प्रागुक्ते वैष्णवे पीठे मूर्तिं संकल्प्य मूलतः
On the previously mentioned Vaiṣṇava seat, one should establish the image at the base with intent.
चक्र शङ्खं च पाशं वाङ्कुशं कुलिशमेव च
The discus, conch, noose, goad, and also the thunderbolt—
लोकेशानपि वज्राद्यान्पूजयेत्तदनन्तरम्
Next, one should worship the lords of the worlds and others, such as those bearing the vajra.
भस्माभिमन्त्रितं कृत्वा ग्रहग्रस्तं विलेपयेत्
Having consecrated ashes with mantra, one should anoint the one afflicted by a planet.
अनेनैव विधानेन यक्षराक्षसकिन्नरः
By this very procedure, yakṣas, rākṣasas, and kinnaras—
पराभिचारकृत्यानि मनुनानेन मन्त्रितम्
All acts of sorcery are rendered powerless by this mantra.
सुदिने स्थापयेत्कुम्भे सर्वतोभद्रमण्डले
On an auspicious day, one should place (the image) in a pot within a sarvatobhadra maṇḍala.
तेनाभिषिक्तो मनुजः सर्वापत्तिं तरेद् ध्रुवम्
A person anointed with this will surely cross over all calamities.
तन्नो नृसिंहः शब्दान्ते वदेंश्चैव प्रचोदयात्
At the end of the words, one should say 'tanno nṛsiṃhaḥ pracodayāt'.
एतस्याः स्मरणादेव सर्वपापक्षयो भवेत्
By merely remembering this, all sins are destroyed.
महाबलाय स्वाहान्तो मन्त्रो वसुधराक्षरः
The mantra for Vasudhara ends with 'svāhā' to the greatly powerful one.
तारो बीजं तथा शक्तिर्वह्निजाया प्रकीर्तिता
The seed is 'tāra', and the śakti is called the wife of Agni.
वर्णैः षडङ्गं कृत्वा च मूर्ध्नि भाले च नेत्रयोः
Having formed the six limbs with syllables, on the head, forehead, and both eyes—
पृष्टे हृद्युदरे नाभौ गुह्ये चोरुस्थले पुनः
On the back, in the heart, in the abdomen, at the navel, in the secret place, and again at the chest.
अष्टादशैव मन्त्रोत्थास्ततो देवं विचिन्तयेत्
Eighteen are produced from the mantra; then one should meditate upon the deity.
अलकैर्विलसद्वक्त्रं कुम्भं शुद्धांबुपूरितम्
With unbound hair, a radiant face, and a pot filled with pure water.
लक्षत्रयं जपेन्मन्त्रं तद्दशांशं घृतप्लुतैः
One should recite the mantra three hundred thousand times, and then offer a tenth part of that with ghee.
चन्द्रान्ते कल्पिते पीठे पूर्वोक्तें पूजयेञ्च तम्
On a seat prepared at the end of the lunar circle, as previously described, one should worship him.
केसरेषु षडङ्गानि संपूज्य दिग्दलेषु च
Having worshipped the six limbs in the filaments and also in the petals facing the directions.
कोणपत्रेषु शान्तिं च श्रियं सरस्वतीं रतिम्
On the corner leaves, one should worship peace, prosperity, Sarasvatī, and delight.
शङ्खं चक्रं गदां शार्ङ्गं दलेष्वष्टसु पूजयेत्
In the eight petals, one should worship the conch, discus, mace, and bow.
तदस्त्राणि च सम्पूज्य गजानष्टौ समर्चयेत्
Having worshipped those weapons, one should then honor the eight elephant guardians.
पुष्पदन्तः सार्वभौमः सुप्रतीकश्च दिग्गजाः
Puṣpadanta, Sārvabhauma, Supratīka, these are the guardians of the directions.
ताम्रकर्णी शुभ्रदन्ती चाङ्गना ह्यञ्जना वती
Tāmrakarṇī, Śubhradantī, Aṅganā, and Añjanāvatī.
श्रीकामः पायसाज्येन सहस्रं जुहुयात्सुधीः
Desiring prosperity, the wise one should offer a thousand oblations with milk and ghee.
शतपुष्पासमुत्थैश्च बीजैर्हुत्वा सहस्रतः
And with seeds produced from a hundred flowers, one should offer a thousand oblations.
दद्ध्योदनेन शुद्धेन हुत्वा मुच्यते दुर्गतेः
By offering pure curd-rice, one is freed from misfortune.
कारागृहाद्भवन्मुक्तो बद्धो मन्त्रप्रभावतः
Released from prison, the bound one is freed by the power of the mantra.
नित्यं सुगन्धकुसुमैर्महतीं श्रियमाप्नुयात्
By always offering fragrant flowers, one attains great prosperity.
