बन्धद्वयं घातयेति द्वयं वर्मास्त्रमीरयेत्
Command the destruction of the two bonds, and recite the two armor-weapons.
पञ्चाशीत्यक्षरो मन्त्रो भजतामिष्टदायकः
The mantra of eighty-five syllables grants the desired objects to the devotee.
छन्दसी च तथा घोरनृसिंहो देवता मतः
In the meter as well, the fierce Narasiṃha is regarded as the deity.
विशेषान्मन्त्रवर्यो ऽयं सर्वरक्षाकरो मतः
Especially, this supreme mantra is considered to grant all protection.
ऋषिः प्रजापतिश्चास्यानुष्टुप्छन्द उदाहृतम्
The seer is Prajapati; its meter is Anushtubh, as has been declared.
जं बीजं हं तथा शक्तिर्विनियोगो ऽखिलाप्तये
The seed is 'jaṃ', the power is 'haṃ'; its application is for the attainment of all desires.
रौद्रं ध्यायेन्नृसिंहं तु शत्रुवक्षो विदारणम्
One should meditate on the fierce Narasimha, tearing open the chest of the enemy.
तप्तहाटककेशान्तज्वलप्तावकलोचनम्
His hair blazes like molten gold, his eyes shine like burning coals.
मुनिर्ब्रह्मा समाख्यातो ऽनुष्टुप्छन्दः समीरितः
The sage is said to be Brahma; the meter is Anushtubh, as has been stated.
पादैश्चतुर्भिः सर्वेण पञ्चाङ्गानि समाचरेत्
With all four quarters, one should perform the five limbs completely.
पूर्वोक्तानि च सर्वाणि कार्याण्यायान्ति सिद्धताम्
All the acts previously mentioned attain perfection.
जस्तेजसे आविराविर्भव वज्रनखान्ततः
O radiant one, appear, appear, with your thunderbolt-like claws.
तमो ग्रसद्वयं पश्चात्स्वाहान्ते चाभयं ततः
After devouring the two forms of darkness, at the end with 'svaha', comes fearlessness.
द्विषष्ट्यर्मो ऽस्य मुन्यादि सर्वं पूर्ववदीरितम्
The sixty-two limbs, beginning with the sage, have all been stated as before.
नरसिंहाय तारश्च बीजमस्य यदा ततः
For Narasimha, the syllable 'tara' is the seed; thus it is declared.
बीजं वराहरूपाय तारो बीज नृसिंहतः
The seed for the form of Varaha is 'tara'; the seed for Narasimha is also 'bija'.
पापध्रुवत्रयं बीजं रामाय निगमादितः
For Rama, the triple 'papa-dhruva' is the seed, as declared in the scriptures.
जयद्वयं ततः शालग्रामान्ते च निवासिने
Then, the double 'jaya' is for the resident at the end of Shalagrama.
तारः स्वं बीजमित्येष महासाम्राज्यदायकः
'Tara' is his own seed; this bestows great sovereignty.
छन्दो ऽतिजगती प्रोक्तं देवता कथिता मनोः
The meter is said to be Atijagati; the deity is declared to be Manu.
षडूदीर्घाढ्येन बीजेन कृत्वाङ्गानि च भावयेत्
With the seed rich in six long syllables, one should contemplate the limbs.
दशावतारैः सहितस्तनोतु नृहरिः सुखम्
May Narahari, together with the ten incarnations, grant happiness.
प्रागुक्ते पूजयेत्पीठे मूर्तिसंकल्प्य मूलतः
On the seat previously described, one should worship, mentally establishing the form at its root.
इन्द्राद्यानपि वज्राद्यान्सम्पूज्येष्टमवाप्नुयात्
By worshipping Indra and the others, along with their weapons such as the thunderbolt, one attains the desired result.
तारो माया रमा कामो बीजं क्रोधपदं ततः
Then, the syllable 'tāra', Māyā, Ramā, Kāma, the seed-syllable, and the place of wrath are to be invoked.
प्रधानधर्माधर्मान्ते निगडेतिपदं वदेत्
At the end of the principal dharma and adharma, one should utter the word 'nigaḍeti' (to bind).
कालान्तकसदृक्तोयं स्वेश्वरान्ते सदृग्जलम्
This is like water at the end of time, and at the end of one's own lord, it is like clear water.
भासकान्ते तु कालाद्यतीतनित्योदितेति च
At the end of the radiance, indeed, time and others, what has passed, what is eternal, and what has arisen should be considered.
हृदयाब्जचतुश्चोक्ता दलान्ते तु निविष्टितः
It is said to be established at the end of the four petals of the lotus of the heart.
चतुर्विंशात्मन्नन्ते तु पञ्चविंशात्मन्नित्यपि
At the end of the twenty-fourth principle, and also at the twenty-fifth, it is present.
