पूजयेद्वनमालायै हृदन्तेन गले च ताम्
He should worship the Vanamala garland at the throat with the heart mantra.
दलेषु पूजयेत्पश्चाल्लक्ष्म्याद्यावृत्तचामराः
Afterwards, he should worship the goddess Lakshmi and others, fanning with whisks at the sides.
उत्फुल्लांभघोजनयना मदविभ्रममन्थराः
With eyes like fully bloomed lotuses, moving slowly in the intoxication of passion,
कान्तिः शान्तिस्तुष्टिपुष्टिबीजाद्या ङेनमोन्तिकाः
Beauty, tranquility, satisfaction, nourishment, and the seeds of prosperity approach him closely.
ह्रस्वत्रयक्लीबसर्वरहितस्वरसंयुतम्
Free from brevity, impotence, and all defects, endowed with his own true nature,
दलाग्रेषु यजेच्छङ्खं शार्ङ्गं चक्रमसिं गदाम्
On the tips of the petals, one should worship the conch, Śārṅga bow, discus, sword, and mace.
महाजलचरा यान्ते वर्मास्त्रं वह्निवल्लभा
At the great aquatic creatures, one should offer the armor-weapon, beloved of fire.
शार्ङ्गाय सशयान्ते च वर्मास्त्रं वह्निवल्लभा
To Śārṅga, at the end with the arrow, the armor-weapon, beloved of fire.
सुदर्शनमहान्ते तु चक्रराजपदं वदेत्
At the great Sudarśana, one should declare the station of the king of discs.
छिन्धिद्वयं ततः पश्चाद्विदारययुगं ततः
Then, the pair of 'chindhi' (cut), and after that, the pair of 'vidāraya' (tear asunder).
भूकानि त्रासयद्वन्द्वं वर्मफड्वह्निसुंदरी
The pair that terrifies the earth, the beautiful armor, sword, and fire.
महाखड्गतीक्ष्णपदाच्छिवियुग्मं समीरयेत्
From the sharp step of the great sword, one should invoke the pair of Śiva.
महाकौमोदकीत्यन्ते वदेञ्चैव महाबले
At the end, at the great Kaumodakī, one should also declare the mighty one.
वर्मास्त्रवह्निजायान्तकौमोदकि हृक्षतिमः
At the end of the armor-weapon, fire-born, Kaumodakī, the destroyer of the heart's wounds.
महाङ्कुशपदात्कुट्चयुग्मं हुंफट्वसुप्रिया
From the great goad's step, the pair of Kuṭca, dear to the syllables 'huṃ' and 'phaṭ.'
संवर्तकमहान्ते तु मुसलेति पदं वदेत्
At the great Saṃvartaka, one should declare the word 'musala' (pestle).
मुसलाय नमः प्रोक्तो मन्त्रो सुसलपूजने
The mantra 'Obeisance to the pestle' is spoken in the worship of the pestle.
हुं फटे स्वाहा च पाशाय नमः पाशार्चने मनुः
'Huṃ phaṭ svāhā,' and 'Obeisance to the noose'—this is the mantra for the worship of the noose.
ताराद्या मनवो ह्येते ततः शक्रादिकान्यजेत्
These are the mantras beginning with 'tārā'; then one should worship the others, beginning with Śakra.
मासमात्रं तु कुसुमैः पूजयित्वा हयारिजैः
Having worshipped with flowers for a month, with those dear to the horse-enemy,
मासमात्रेण वश्याःस्युस्तस्य सर्वे नृपोत्तमाः
Within a single month, all the greatest kings will come under his control.
स भवेद्दासवत्सद्यो मन्त्रस्यास्य प्रभावतः
He will immediately become like a servant, due to the power of this mantra.
साधयेत्सकलान्कामान्विष्णुतुल्यो न संशयः
He will accomplish all desires, equal to Viṣṇu—of this there is no doubt.
यान्समाराध्य ब्रह्माद्याश्चक्रुः सृष्ट्यादि कर्म वै
By worshipping whom, Brahmā and the others performed creation and other acts—
एकाक्षरः स्मृतो मन्त्रो भजतां सुरपादपः
The mantra is said to be a single syllable, a wish-fulfilling tree for devotees.
देवता नृहरिः प्रोक्तो विनियोगो ऽखिलाप्तये
The deity is called Nṛhari; the application is for the attainment of all things.
अर्केन्दुवह्निनयनं शरदिन्दुरुचं करैः
With eyes like the sun, moon, and fire, shining like the autumn moon with his rays—
लक्षं जपस्तद्दशांशहोमश्च घृतपायसैः
One hundred thousand recitations, and one-tenth that number of fire offerings with ghee and sweet rice.
खगेशं शङ्करं शेषं शतानन्दं दिगालिषु
To the lord of birds, to Śaṅkara, to Śeṣa, to Śatānanda in the directions—
दन्तच्छदेषु नृहरींस्तावतः पूजयेत्क्रमात्म
On elephant tusks, one should worship Nṛhari in order, as many times as prescribed.
