द्रावयद्वितयं तावदाकर्षययुगं ततः द्रावयद्वितयं तावदाकर्षययुगं ततः
Then, recite the pair 'drāvaya' (drive away), and after that, the pair 'ākarṣaya' (attract).
सर्वसौभाग्यशब्दान्ते करसर्वपदं वदेत्
At the end of all words denoting prosperity, one should utter the word 'karasarva' (all-doing hand).
चक्रेण गदया पश्चात्खड्गेन तदनन्तरम्
Afterwards, with the discus and the mace, and then with the sword.
अङ्कुशेनेति संप्रोच्य ताडयद्वितयं पुनः
Having invoked the goad, again recite the pair 'tāḍaya' (strike).
ततो मे सिद्धिराभास्य भवमन्ते च वर्म फट्
Then, having visualized my accomplishment, at the end of the recitation, utter the armor mantra 'phaṭ'.
जैमिनिर्मुनिरस्योक्तश्छन्दश्चामितमीरितम्
The sage Jaimini is declared as the seer of this, and the meter is said to be 'Amita'.
कामो बीजं रमा शक्तिर्विनियोगो ऽखिलाप्तये
Kāma is the seed, Ramā is the power, and the application is for the attainment of all.
हृदयं कीर्तितं पश्चाज्जगत्क्षोभणशब्दतः
After the heart mantra, recite the word that agitates the world.
मन्मथो तमशब्दान्ते मङ्गजे पदमीरयेत्
At the end of the word 'tamas', recite the word 'Maṅgaja' (born of auspiciousness) for Manmatha.
परमान्ते भृगुकर्णाभ्यां च सर्वपदं ततः
At the end of the supreme, with both the ears of Bhṛgu, then the word 'sarva' (all).
सुरासुरान्ते मनुजसुंदरीति पदं वदेत्
At the end of the words for gods and demons, recite the word 'manuja-sundarī' (beautiful human woman).
ततः प्रहरणधरसर्वकामुकतत्पदम्
Then, the word relating to the weapon-bearing and all-desiring one.
आकर्षयद्वयं पश्चान्महाबलपदं ततः
After reciting the pair 'ākarṣaya' (attract), then the word 'mahābala' (great strength).
वदेत्रिभुवनं पश्चाच्चर सर्वजनेति च
Afterwards, recite 'tribhuvana' (three worlds), then 'move, all people'.
वशमानय वर्मान्ते नेत्रमन्त्रः समीरितः
Recite the eye mantra at the end of the armor to bring under control.
तारस्त्रैलोक्यशब्दान्ते मोहनेति पदं वदेत्
At the end of the sound of the syllables of the three worlds, one should utter the word 'mohana' (enchantment).
मम्नथानन्तरं सर्वस्त्रीणां हृदयमीरयेत्
After that, one should direct the mind into the hearts of all women.
अनेन व्यापकं कृत्वा जगन्नाथं स्मरेत् सुधीः
By this, having pervaded (the space), the wise should remember Jagannatha.
उद्यदर्काभुजालाभं स्वधाम्नोज्वालदिङ्मुखम्
He should visualize him as having arms like the rising sun, his own abode blazing in all directions.
दिव्यवातोञ्चलत्कञ्जपरागोद्धूलितांबरम्
With divine winds stirring, his garments are dusted with pollen from swaying lotuses.
तदन्तर्मणिसम्पत्तिस्फुरत्तोरणमण्डपे
Within, in a pavilion adorned with sparkling jewels and shining arches,
मणिवेद्यादि वियत्किरीटाग्रसमर्चिते
With gem-encrusted altars and a canopy honored by the crest of the sky,
शङ्खपाशेषु चापानि मुसलं नन्दकं गदाम्
He beholds conch, noose, bows, pestle, Nandaka sword, and mace.
पश्यत्यङ्कस्थयांभोजश्रिया रागोल्लसदृशा
He gazes upon the lotus of fortune resting on his lap, glowing with the hue of passion.
कुण्डेर्ऽद्धचन्द्रे पद्मैर्वा जातीपुष्पैश्च होमयेत्
He should offer oblations with half-moon-shaped lotuses, or with jasmine flowers.
पूजयिष्यन् जगन्नाथं गायत्र्या प्रोक्षयेद्वुधः
Desiring to worship Jagannatha, the wise one should sprinkle (the image) with the Gayatri.
स्मराय धीमहीत्युक्त्वा तन्नो विष्णुः प्रचोदयात्
Reciting 'Let us meditate on Kama; may Vishnu inspire us,'
कल्पयेदासनं पीठे पूर्वोक्ते वैष्णवे सुधीः
The wise should arrange a seat on the previously mentioned Vaishnava altar.
मूर्तिं संकल्पमूलेन तस्यामावाहयेदतः
He should invoke the image there by means of the root of resolve.
श्रीवत्सहृदयं तेन श्रीवत्सं स्तनयोर्यजेत्
With the heart of Srivatsa, he should worship the Srivatsa mark on the breasts.
