कृत्वाङ्गानि ततो ध्यायेद्विधिवत्पुरुषोत्तमम्
Having performed the limb placements, one should meditate properly upon Puruṣottama.
लसत्करं पीतवस्रं स्मरेच्छ्रीपुरुषोत्तमम्
One should remember Śrī Puruṣottama, shining, holding a lotus, and clad in yellow garments.
मौक्तिकौघशमदमविराजितवितानके
In a pavilion adorned with rows of pearls and tranquil restraint,
लसन्माणिक्यवेद्यां तु दीत्पार्कायुततेजसि
Upon a shining platform of radiant rubies, aglow with the brilliance of the sun,
नवलक्षं जपेन्मन्त्रं जुहुयात्तद्दशांशतः
One should recite the mantra nine lakhs of times and offer oblations amounting to one-tenth of that.
एवमाराध्य देवेशं प्राप्नोति महतीं श्रियम्
By thus worshipping the Lord of the gods, one attains great prosperity.
उत्तिष्टेति पदं पश्चाच्छ्रीकराग्निप्रियान्तिमः
Afterwards, the final step is the utterance 'Uttiṣṭa', dear to Śrī and Agni.
श्रीकाराख्यो हरिः प्रोक्तो देवता सकलेष्टदः
Hari, known as Śrīkāra, is proclaimed as the deity who grants all desired things.
शिखा प्रमर्द्दयद्वन्द्वं वर्म प्रध्वंसयद्वयम्
The crest destroys duality, and the armor eradicates both adversities.
मस्तके नेत्रयोः कण्ठहृदये नाभिदेशके
On the head, eyes, throat, heart, and navel region,
ततः पुरुषसूक्तोक्तमन्त्रैर्न्यासं समाचरेत्
Then, one should perform the nyāsa with mantras from the Puruṣa Sūkta.
बाहुयुग्मे तथा बाहूंराजन्य इति विन्यसेत्
On both arms, the practitioner should place the mantra 'rājanya' accordingly.
न्यसेत्पादद्वये मन्त्री पद्भ्यां शूद्रो अजायत
On both feet, the mantra 'padbhyāṃ śūdro ajāyata' should be placed by the officiant.
एवं न्यासविधिं कृत्वा ध्यायेत्पूर्वोक्तमण्डपे
Having performed the procedure of nyāsa thus, one should meditate in the previously described pavilion.
पूर्वोक्तरूपिणं देवं श्रीकरं लोकमोहनम्
One should contemplate the deity as previously described, Śrīkara, who enchants the worlds.
रक्तांबुजैः समिद्भिश्च विल्वक्षीरिद्रुमोद्भवैः
With red lotuses, sacred fuel, and products of the bilva and milk trees,
अश्वत्थोदुंबरप्लक्षवटाः क्षीरिद्रुमाः स्मृता
The aśvattha, udumbara, plakṣa, and vaṭa are remembered as milk trees.
अङ्गावरणदिक्पालहेतिभिः सहितं विभुम्
The Lord is accompanied by guardians of the directions, weapons, and protective coverings.
तारो हृद्भगवान् ङेंतो वराहेति ततः परम्
The syllable 'tāra' resides in the heart, Bhagavān in the throat, and then 'varāha' above.
भूपतित्वं च मे देहि ददापय शुचिप्रिया
Grant me sovereignty, O pure-loving one, bestow it upon me.
छन्दो ऽनुष्टुब्देवतादिवराहः समुदीरितः
The meter is Anuṣṭubh; the deity is Adi Varaha, as has been declared.
शिखा तेजो ऽधिपतये विश्वरूपाय वर्म च
The crest is for the Lord of Radiance; the armor is for the All-formed One.
अथवा गिरिषट्सप्तबाणैर्वसुभिरक्षरैः
Alternatively, with the six mountains, seven arrows, and the Vasus as syllables—
ततौ ध्यायेदनेकार्कनिभमादिवराहकम्
Then, one should meditate on the primordial Varaha, shining like many suns.
इष्टाभीतिगदाशङ्खचक्रशक्त्यसिखेटकान्
Desired objects, the mace, conch, discus, spear, sword, and shield—
एवं ध्यात्वा जपेल्लक्षं दशांशं सरसीरुहैः
Having meditated thus, one should recite one hundred thousand times, offering a tenth part with lotuses.
मूलेन मूर्तिं सङ्कल्प्य तस्यां सम्पूजयेद्विभुम्
Conceiving the form at the root, one should worship the Lord therein.
जपादेवावर्नि दद्याद्धनं धान्यं महीं श्रियम्
To the deity invoked by recitation, one should give wealth, grain, land, and prosperity.
शिलां शुद्धां विनिक्षिप्य स्पृष्ट्वा तामयुतं जपेत्
Placing a pure stone and touching it, one should recite ten thousand times.
भूतप्रेताहिचौरादिकृतां बाधां निवारयेत्
He removes afflictions caused by spirits, ghosts, and thieves.
