बिंबबीजेन पुटितं सर्वकामफलप्रदम्
Charged with the seed of the orb, it grants all desired fruits.
भृगुर्जलेन्दुमन्वाढ्यः सोमाय हृदयान्तिमः
Enriched by the waters, the moon, and the lineage of Bhrigu, the final mantra is for Soma in the heart.
छन्दः पङ्क्तिस्तु सोमो ऽस्य देवता परिकीर्तिता
The meter is Paṅkti, and Soma is declared as its deity.
षड्दीर्घेण स्वबीजेन षडङ्गानि समाचरेत्
With six long syllables and one's own seed-syllable, one should perform the six limbs.
विभ्राणमिष्टं कुमुदं ध्यायेन्मुक्तास्रजं विधुम्
One should meditate on the desired lotus, bearing pearls as a garland, and the moon.
जुहुयात्तद्दशांशेन पीठे सोमान्तपूजिते
One should offer oblations with one-tenth part of that, on a seat worshipped at the end of Soma.
केसरेष्वङ्गपूजा स्यात्पत्रेष्वेताश्च शक्तयः
The worship of the limbs should be on the filaments; and on the petals, these are the energies.
रात्रिरार्द्रा ततो ज्येत्स्ना कला हारसमप्रभा
Night is moist, then comes Jyotsna, the digit of the moon, shining like a necklace.
सर्वाःस्तनभराक्रान्ता रचिताञ्जलयः शुभाः
All are adorned with the weight of full breasts, with hands joined in reverence, auspicious.
समभ्यर्च्याः सरोजाक्ष्यः पूर्णेन्दुसदृशाननाः
They should be worshipped, lotus-eyed, with faces resembling the full moon.
आदित्यभूसुतबुधमन्ददेवेज्यराहवः
The Sun, Earth, Mercury, Saturn, the gods, Jupiter, and Rahu.
रक्तारुणश्वेतनीलपीतधूम्रसितासिताः
Red, crimson, white, blue, yellow, smoky, grey, and black.
सोकपालांस्तदस्त्राणि तद्वाह्ये पूजयेत्सुधीः
A wise person should worship the guardians of the quarters, their weapons, and those outside them.
पौर्णमास्यां जिताहारो दद्यादर्ध्यं विधूदये
On the full moon, having subdued the appetite, one should offer libation at moonrise.
पश्चिमे मण्डले स्थित्वा पूजाद्रव्यं च मध्यमे
Standing in the western circle, and with the worship materials in the middle.
समभ्यर्च्यं विधानेन पीठपूजनपूर्वकम्
One should worship according to the procedure, after first worshipping the seat.
सुरभीपयसापूर्य्य तं स्पृशन्प्रजपेन्मनुम्
Filling it with fragrant milk, touching it, one should recite the mantra.
दद्यान्निशाकरायार्ध्यं सर्वाभीष्टार्थसिद्धये
One should offer libation to the moon for the accomplishment of all desired aims.
वषान्तरेण सवष्टं प्राप्नोति भुविमानवः
Within a year, with the prescribed rites, a person attains prosperity on earth.
चन्द्रमुखि द्विठान्तो ऽयं विद्यामन्त्र उदाहृतः
This mantra of knowledge, called Candramukhi, ends in two syllables.
धनं धान्यं सुतान्पौत्रान्सौभाग्यं लभते ऽचिरात्
He quickly obtains wealth, grain, sons, grandsons, and good fortune.
तारो दीर्घेन्दुयुग्व्योम तदेवेन्दुयुतः पुनः
The syllables are: tā, ra, dīrgha (long vowel), indu (moon), yug (pair), vyoma (sky), and again with indu (moon).
षडर्णो ऽयं महामन्त्रो मङ्गलस्याखिलेष्टदः
This six-syllabled great mantra grants all desired auspiciousness.
मन्त्रार्णैः षड्भिरङ्गानि क्रुर्वन्ध्यायेद्धरात्मजम्
With these six mantra-syllables, a woman without children should meditate on the son of the earth.
करैर्बिभ्राणमीशानस्वेदजं भूंसुतं स्मरेत्
She should remember the sweat-born son of the Lord, holding him with her hands.
समिद्भिर्जुहुयादग्नौ शैवे पीठे यजेत्कुजम्
She should offer oblations with sacred sticks into the fire, and worship Kuja on a Shaiva altar.
मङ्गलोभूमिपुत्रश्च ऋणहर्ता धनप्रदः
Maṅgala, the son of the earth, is the remover of debts and the giver of wealth.
लोहितो लोहिताक्षश्च सामगानां कृपाकरः
He is Lohita, Lohitākṣa, compassionate to those who sing Sāma hymns.
अङ्गारको महीसूनुः सर्वरोगापहारकः
Aṅgāraka, the son of the earth, removes all diseases.
इत्येक र्विशतिः प्रोक्ता मूर्तयो भूसुतस्य वै
Thus, twenty-one forms of the son of the earth have been described.
