न्यसेत्कण्ठादिनाभ्यन्तं ध्यायन्प्रद्योतनं हृदि
From the throat to the navel, meditating on the radiance in the heart, one should place it.
नाभ्यादिपादपर्यन्तं न्यसेद्वह्निमनुस्मरन्
From the navel to the soles of the feet, one should place, remembering the fire.
आदिठान्तार्णपूर्वं ङेंनमोन्तं सोममण्डलम्
From the initial to the final syllable, with 'ṅeṃ' at the end, is the lunar region.
डकारादिक्षकारान्तवर्णाद्यं पह्निमण्डलम्
From the syllable 'ḍa' to 'kṣa', the sequence of letters forms the solar region.
अग्रीषोमात्मको न्यासः कथितः सर्वसिद्धिदः
Thus, the nyāsa consisting of Agni and Soma is described, bestowing all accomplishments.
नमोन्ते व्यापकं मन्त्री हंस्नयासो ऽयमीरितः
This mantra, ending with 'namas', is all-pervading and is called the haṃsa nyāsa.
उक्तादित्यमुखानेतान्विन्यसेञ्च नवग्रहान्
He should arrange the nine planets, led by the Sun, as previously described.
भ्रूमध्ये च तथा भाले ब्रह्मरङ्घ्रे न्यसेत्क्रमात्
He should place them in order at the center of the brows and likewise on the forehead, at the feet of Brahma.
पुनर्न्यासत्रयं कुर्यान्मूलेन व्यापकं चरेत्
He should perform the threefold placement again, proceeding with the root and the pervasive method.
दानाभयाब्जयुगलं धारयन्तं करै रविम्
He should visualize the Sun holding the pair of lotus flowers of charity and fearlessness in his hands.
ध्यात्वैवं प्रजपेन्मन्त्री वसुलक्षं दशांशतः
Having meditated thus, the priest should recite the mantra one hundred thousand times, with a tenth as offering.
प्रथमं पीठयजने धर्मादीनां स्थले यजेत्
First, in the seat-sacrifice, he should worship at the place of Dharma and the others.
परमादिमुखं मध्ये खबिंबान्तं प्रपूजयेत्
He should worship the supreme, the primal face in the center, and the end of the sky-disc.
दीप्ता सूक्ष्मा जया भद्रा विभूतिर्विमला तथा
Radiant, subtle, victorious, auspicious, glorious, and pure likewise.
ह्रस्वत्रयोक्तिजाः क्लीबही ना वह्नीन्दुसंयुताः
The three short ones are said to be neuter, not joined with fire and moon.
ब्रह्मविष्णुशिवात्मा ते सृष्टिः शेषान्विताप्यसौ
Their essence is Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva; creation is accompanied by the rest, as well.
ताराद्यो ऽयं पीठमन्त्रस्त्वनेनासनमादिशेत्
This mantra of the seat, beginning with the syllable 'tāra', should be used to designate the seat.
नवार्णाय च मनवे मूर्तिं संकल्पयेत्सुधीः
For the nine-syllabled mantra, the wise should conceive the form for the Manava.
ततः षडङ्गामाराध्य द्विक्ष्वष्टाङ्गं प्रपूजयेत्
Then, having worshipped the six limbs, he should worship the eight limbs in two places.
सूर्यं दिशासु सद्यादिपञ्च ह्रस्वादिकानिमान्
He should worship the Sun in the directions, along with the five beginning with Sadyā, and those starting with the short ones.
उषां प्रज्ञां प्रभां संध्यां ततो ब्रह्मादिकान्यजेत्
He should worship Dawn, Wisdom, Radiance, Twilight, and then the deities beginning with Brahma.
दिक्ष्वर्यमादिकानिष्ट्वा भूमिजं च शनैश्चरम्
Having worshipped the guardians of the directions, beginning with Aryaman, he should worship the earth-born and Saturn.
इन्द्राद्यानपि वज्राद्यान्पूजयेत्पूर्ववत्सुधीः
The wise should also worship Indra and the others, and those with thunderbolt and the rest, as before.
समाहितो दिनेशाय दद्यादर्ध्यं दिने दिने
With concentration, he should offer arghya to the lord of the day, each and every day.
विधाय मण्डलं भानोः पीठं पूर्ववदर्चयेत्
Having drawn the circle of the sun, one should worship the seat as before.
पात्रं ताम्रमयं प्रस्थतोयग्राहि सुशोभनम्
A vessel made of copper, beautiful and able to hold a prastha of water,
विलोममातृकामूलमुञ्चरन्पूरयेज्जलैः
Reciting the reverse order of the seed-syllables of the Mothers, one should fill it with water.
कुङ्कुमं रोजनां राजीं चन्दनं रक्तचन्दनम्
Kumkuma, rojana, saffron threads, sandalwood, and red sandalwood,
तिलवेणुयवांश्चैव निक्षिपेत्सलिले शुभे
Sesame, bamboo, and barley—these should be placed in the auspicious water.
गन्धपुष्पधूपदीपनैवेद्याद्यै र्विधानतः
With fragrance, flowers, incense, lamps, and offerings of food, according to the proper rite,
