श्रीमन्महागणपतिप्रीतये विनियोगकः
The purpose is for the pleasure of the illustrious great Gaṇapati.
गुह्ये बीजं पदोः शक्तिं न्यसेत्साधकसत्तमः
The best of practitioners should place the seed in the secret place and the śakti at the feet.
षडङ्गानि न्यसेदस्य जातियुक्तानि मन्त्रवित्
The knower of mantra should place the six limbs, each with its proper class.
गामाद्यं चैव भूर्लोकं नाभ्यन्तं पादयोर्न्यसेत्
He should place the syllable 'ga' at the beginning and the earth realm within the feet.
स्वर्लोकं चैव गूमाद्यं कण्ठदिमस्तकावधि
And the heaven realm, beginning with 'gu', from the throat up to the crown of the head.
मूलमन्त्रं समुञ्चार्य मातृकावर्णमीरयेत्
Having recited the root mantra, he should utter the letters of the alphabet.
क्षान्तं विन्यस्य मूलेन व्यापकं रचयेत्सुधीः
Having placed 'kṣa' at the root, the wise one should construct the pervasive form.
पञ्चत्रिबाणवह्नीन्दुचन्द्राक्षिनिगमैः क्रमात्
With the five arrows, fire, Indu (moon), moon, eye, and the paths, in order.
भालदेशे मुखे कण्ठे हृदि नाभ्यूरुजानुषु
On the forehead, mouth, throat, heart, navel, thighs, and knees.
वदेत्तत्पुरुषायान्ते विद्महेति पदं ततः
At the end, he should say the phrase 'tatpuruṣāya vidmahe'.
तन्नो दन्तिः प्रचोवर्णा दयादिति वदेत्पुनः
Then, he should again say 'tanno dantiḥ pracovarṇā dayā'.
एवं न्यासविधिं कृत्वा ध्यायेदेवं हृदंबुजे
Having performed the rite of nyāsa in this way, he should meditate thus in the lotus of the heart.
सशक्तिकं भूषिताङ्गं दन्त चक्राद्युदायुधम्
With śakti, adorned limbs, holding tooth, discus, and other weapons.
चतुर्लक्षं जपेन्मन्त्रं अष्टद्रव्यैर्दशांशतः
He should recite the mantra four hundred thousand times, with eight substances, a tenth part as offering.
इक्षवः सक्तवो मोचाफलानि चिपिटास्तिलाः
Sugarcane, fried grains, plantains, flat rice, and sesame seeds.
पीठमाधारशक्त्यादिपरतत्वान्तमर्चयेत्
He should worship up to the ultimate principle, beginning with the seat, support, and śakti.
भूपुरं तद्बहिः कृत्वा गमेशं तत्र पूजयेत्
Having made the earth-altar outside of that, one should worship the Lord of Ganas there.
अग्रा तेजोवती सत्या नवमी विध्ननाशिनी
In front is Tejovati, Satyā, Navamī, and Vighnanāśinī.
पीठमन्त्रो ऽयमेतेन दद्यादासनमुत्तमम्
With this seat-mantra, one should offer an excellent seat.
विकोणबाह्ये पूर्वादिचतुर्दिक्षअवर्चयेत्क्रमात्
On the outer corners, beginning from the east, one should worship in the four directions in order.
रतिं रतिपतिं पाश्चान्महीपूर्व च पोत्रिणम्
In the west, Rati and the Lord of Rati; in the east, the Boatman.
रमा पद्मद्वयकरा शङ्खचक्रधरो हरिः
Ramā, holding two lotuses in her hands; Hari, bearing conch and discus.
रतिः पद्मकरा पुष्पबाणचापधरः स्मरः
Rati, holding a lotus; Smara, bearing a bow of flowers and arrows.
देवाग्रे पूजयेल्लक्ष्मीसहितं तु विनायकम्
In front of the gods, one should worship Vināyaka together with Lakṣmī.
आमोदं सिद्धिसंयुक्तमग्रतः परिपीजयेत्
In front, one should especially worship Āmoda, accompanied by Siddhi.
ईशकोणे यजेत्कीर्तिसंयुतं सुमुखं तथा
In the northeast corner, one should worship Sumukha, together with Kīrti.
यजेन्नैरृत्यकोणे तु विघ्नं मदद्रवायुतम्
In the southwest corner, one should worship Vighna, endowed with the essence of intoxication.
पाशाङ्कुशाभयकरांस्तरुणार्कसमप्रभान्
Those who hold noose, goad, and the gesture of fearlessness, shining like the rising sun.
षट्कोणोभयपार्श्वे तु शङ्खपद्मनिभौ क्रमात्
On both sides of the hexagon, in order, are those resembling conch and lotus.
केशरेषु षडङ्गानि पत्रेष्वष्टौ तु मातरः
In the filaments are the six limbs; on the petals, the eight Mothers.
