—those fierce beings, performers of fierce acts, dwellers in fierce places—
—and other obstacles, likewise, who are established in all directions—
—having offered (to them) in the eight directions, one should again perform the offering to the spirits.
One should place in the hand of the deity again water for sipping.
Then one should offer the food, and to those who eat the remnants, give what remains.

Having recited the mantra as able, one should present (the offering) to the deity.
May accomplishment be mine, O God, by Your grace, for it rests in You.
By mind and by speech, thus is the eight-limbed salutation declared.
In worship, the salutation with five limbs is also considered excellent.
Of Viṣṇu, Soma, the Sun, and the Removers of Obstacles, the Vedas, the moon, the mountain, and the fires—
From here, fullness arises due to the authority of life, intellect, body, and dharma.
By speech, by the hands, by the feet, and then by the belly,
Let all of that, therefore, be an offering to Brahman, both the fixed and the moving.
Let the utterance, the true, and the good likewise be an offering to Brahman, as declared by Manu.
Whether through ignorance, or through carelessness, or due to deficiency in the means,
If, by me, anything is done lacking materials, lacking proper action, or lacking mantra,
Whatever act is performed by me, whether in waking, dreaming, or deep sleep,
For those whose feet slip on the earth, the earth itself is their support.
There is no other refuge; you alone are my refuge.
Thousands of offenses are committed by me day and night.
I do not know how to invoke, nor do I know how to dismiss.
Thus having prayed, the priest should recite the verse at the end of the root mantra.
That which even Brahma and the other gods do not know, nor does Sadashiva,
Having placed the deity, with its limbs, in the lotus of one’s own heart,
The conch, discus, stone, linga, obstacles, and the two suns likewise,
The removal of untimely death, the destruction of all diseases,
The holy water from Vishnu’s feet brings about the destruction of all sins.
Unaccepted are the remnants of Shiva, leaf, flower, fruit, and water.
The fivefold worship is thus described here by Narada in its entirety.
