मेघनादः सुभगया व्यापी स्यात्कालरात्रियुक्
Meghanada, with great fortune, pervasive, and joined with Kalaratri.
गणेशमातृकायास्तु गणो मुनिभिरीरितः

षड्दीर्घाढ्येन बीजेन कृत्वाङ्गानि ततः स्मरेत्
With the seed rich in six long syllables, having formed the limbs, one should then meditate.
पत्न्याश्लिष्टं रक्ततनुं त्रिनेत्रं गणपे भवेत्
Embraced by his wife, with a red body and three eyes, he should be visualized in the host.
निवृत्तिश्च प्रतिष्ठा च विद्या शान्तिस्ततेधिकाः
Cessation, establishment, knowledge, peace, and those that are superior.
सूक्ष्मासूक्ष्मामृता ज्ञानामृता चाप्यायिनी तथा
The subtle, the most subtle, the nectar of knowledge, and also the nourishing one.
स्मृतिर्मेधा ततः कान्तिर्लक्ष्मीर्द्धृतिः स्थिरा स्थितिः
Memory, intelligence, then radiance, Lakshmi, firmness, and stable existence.
कामिको वरदा वाथ ह्लादिनी प्रीतिसंयुता
Desire, bestower of boons, or else delighting, united with affection.
क्षुधा च क्रोधिनी पश्चाक्रियाकारी समृत्युका
Hunger and anger, then the doer of actions, and the one who brings about death.
उक्ता कलामातृकैवं तत्तद्भक्तः समाचरेत्
Thus the mother of the parts is described; the devotee should perform accordingly.
गायत्रीछन्द आख्यातं देवता शारदाभिधा
The meter is called Gayatri, and the deity is named Sharada.
पद्मचक्रगुणैणांश्च दधतीं च त्रिलोचनाम्
Bearing the qualities of the lotus, the wheel, and the goad, and having three eyes.
ध्यात्वैवं तारपूर्वां तां न्यसेन्ङन्तकलान्विताम्
Having meditated thus, with the syllable 'ta' at the beginning, one should place her endowed with the final part.
हृदयादिचतुर्थ्यन्ते जातीः संयोज्य विन्यसेत्
From the heart and so on, up to the fourth, one should join and place the syllables.
ततो ध्यात्वेष्टदेवं तं भूषायुधसमन्वितम्
Then, having meditated on that chosen deity, adorned with ornaments and weapons,
न्यस्याङ्गषट्कं तन्मूर्तौं ततः पूजनमारभेत्
he placed the six limbs upon that form, and then began the worship.
त्रिकोणं चतुरस्रं वा वामभागे प्रकल्प्य च
Having prepared a triangle or a square on the left side,
तत्राग्निमण्डलं चेद्वा पात्रं संक्षाल्य चास्रतः
there, either a fire-circle or a vessel, having washed it thoroughly,
क्लिममातृका पूलमुञ्चरन्पूरपेज्जलैः
uttering the syllable 'klim' and the sequence of letters, he should fill it with pure water.
गोमुद्रयामृतीकृत्य कवचेनावगुण्ठयेत्
Having made it like cow-urine and nectar, he should cover it with an armor.
सामान्यार्घमिदं प्रोक्तं सर्वसिद्धिकरं नृणाम्
This is declared to be the general arghya, bestowing all accomplishments upon men.
आत्मानं यागवस्तूनि तेन संप्रोक्षयेत्पुथक्
With that, he should sprinkle himself and the sacrificial objects separately.
चतुरस्रेण संवेष्ट्य संक्षाल्यार्घोदकेन च
Encircling with a square, and washing with the arghya water,
आग्नेयादिषु कोणेषु हृदाद्यङ्गचतुष्टयम्
in the corners beginning with the southeast, the four limbs starting with the heart,
मूलखण्डत्रयेनाथाधारशक्तिं तु मध्यगाम्
with the three root sections, he should establish the supporting power in the center.
प्रतिष्टाप्य त्रिपदिकां पूजयेन्मनुनामुना
Having established the three-footed one, he should worship with the prescribed mantra.
अमुकार्ध्येति पात्रान्ते सनापहृदयोंऽतिमे
At the end of the vessel, saying 'This is the arghya for so-and-so,' with the heart purified,
स्वमन्त्रक्षालितं शरंवं संस्याप्याय समर्चयेत्
having purified the arrow with his own mantra, he should place it there and worship.
वर्म फट् हृदयं पाञ्चजन्याय हृदयं मनेः
The armor is 'phaṭ,' the heart is for Pāñcajanya; the heart belongs to the mantra.
अमुकार्ध्येति पात्रान्ते नमोन्तस्त्र्यक्षिवर्णवान्
At the end of the vessel, saying 'This is the arghya for so-and-so,' bowing, with the three-syllabled letter.
