अग्निनैरृतिवागीशान् क्रमेण परिपीजयेत्
He should worship Agni, Nirṛti, and Vāgīśa in order.
रविं शिवां शिवं चैव यदा मध्ये तु शङ्करम्
He should worship Ravi, Śivā, and Śiva, and in the middle, Śaṅkara.
ईशं विघ्नार्कगोविन्दान्मध्ये चेद्गणनायकम्
He should worship Īśa, Vighna, Arka, and Govinda, with Gaṇanāyaka in the middle.
गणेषं विष्णुमंबां च शिवं चेति यथाक्रमम्
He should worship Gaṇeśa, Viṣṇu, Ambā, and Śiva, in that order.
ब्राह्मे मुहूर्त्ते ह्युत्थाय कृत्वाचा वश्यकं बुधः
Rising at the Brāhma-muhūrta, the wise one should perform the necessary purification.
सहस्रदलशुक्लाब्जकार्ंणकास्थदुमण्डले
In the circle at the base of the stalk of the thousand-petaled white lotus—
द्विनेत्रं द्विभुजं शुक्लगन्धमाल्यानुंलेपनम्
With two eyes and two arms, adorned with white sandal paste and garlands,
आराध्य पादुकामन्त्रं दशधाप्रजपेत्सुधीः
Having worshipped, one should recite the pādukā-mantra ten times with a concentrated mind.
हसक्षमलवार्यग्निवामकर्णैदुयुग्मरुत्
Ha, kṣa, ma, la, water, fire, left ear, and the pair of winds—
सहक्षमलतोयाग्निचन्द्रशान्तियुतो मरुत्
Together with kṣa, ma, la, water, fire, moon, peace, and wind—
देव्यंबान्ते श्रीपान्दुकां पूजयामि हृदन्तिमे
At the end of the heart, I worship the revered white sandals at the feet of the Goddess Mother.
गुह्येति च समर्प्याथ मन्त्रैरेतैर्नमेत्सुधीः
Then, offering with the mantra 'guhya', the wise one should bow with these mantras.
तत्पदं दर्शितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः
Salutation to the revered Guru, by whom that supreme state has been revealed.
चक्षुरुन्मीलितं येन तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः
Salutation to the revered Guru, by whom the eyes have been opened.
यस्य वागमृतं हॄन्ति विषं संसारसंज्ञकम्
By whose nectar-like speech the poison called worldly existence is destroyed—
ॐ नमस्ते नाथ भगवान् शिवाय गुरुरूपिणे
Om, salutations to you, O Lord, O Bhagavān, O Śiva in the form of the Guru.
नवाय तनरूपाय परमार्थैकरूपिणे
To the ever-new, to the one with a human form, to the one whose essence is the highest reality—
स्ततन्त्राय दयाकॢप्तविग्रहाय शिवात्मने
To the independent one, whose form is shaped by compassion, whose nature is auspiciousness—
विवेकिनां विवेकाय विमर्शाय विमर्शिनाम्
To the discernment of the discerning, to the reflection of the reflecting—
पुरस्तात्पार्श्वयोः पृष्टे नमस्तुभ्यमुपर्यधः
Salutations to you in front, at the sides, behind, above, and below.
त्वत्प्रसादादहं देव कृताकृत्यो ऽस्मि सर्वतः
By your grace, O Lord, I am fulfilled in every way.
इति स्तुत्वा ततः सर्व गुरवे विनिवेदयेत्
Having thus praised, one should then offer everything to the Guru.
यत्करोमि जगन्नाथ तदस्तु तव पूजनम्
O Lord of the universe, whatever I do, may it be your worship.
क्षालितं निजमात्मानं लिर्मलं भावयेत्सुधीः
Having purified oneself, the wise should contemplate themselves as spotless.
मूलाधारादधो भागे वर्तुलं वायुमण्डलम्
Below the root center is a circular region of air.
त्रिकोणं मण्डलं वह्नेस्तत्रस्थवह्निबीजतः
There is a triangular region of fire, from which the seed of fire abides.
प्रसुप्तभुजगाकारां स्वयंभूलिङ्गवेष्टिनीम्
There, coiled like a sleeping serpent, she encircles the self-born linga.
कुलकुण्डलिनीं ध्यात्वा कूर्चेनोत्थापयेञ्च ताम्
Meditating on the Kulakundalini, one should raise her upward with the tip of the mind.
गुरुपदिष्टविधिना ब्रह्मरन्ध्रं नयेत्सुधीः
By the method taught by the guru, the wise should lead her to the Brahmarandhra.
तत्प्रभापटलव्याप्तैविमलं चिन्मयं परम्
Pervaded by her radiance, it becomes pure, conscious, and supreme.
