तयोरीशस्थिते राशौ यातुः शत्रुक्षयो भवेत्
When the two are established in the sign of the lord, the destruction of enemies occurs for the traveler.
निन्द्यो निखिलयात्रासु घटलग्नो घटांशकः
The conjunction with the Ghaṭa (pot) or its portion is condemned in all journeys.
मूर्तिः कोशो धन्विनश्च वाहनं मन्त्रसंज्ञकम्
The form, the treasury, the archer, the vehicle, and the one named by mantra—
प्राप्तिरप्राप्तिरुदयाद्भावाः स्युर्द्वादशैव ते
Acquisition and non-acquisition, arising and manifestation—these twelve states exist.
न निघ्नतो हि व्यापारं सौम्याःढ पुष्णन्त्यरिं विना
Indeed, the gentle ones do not support activity for the destroyer, except for the enemy.
याम्यदिग्गमनं त्यक्त्वा सर्वकाष्ठासु यायिनाम्
Except for travel toward the southern direction, journeys in all directions are permitted.
पञ्चाङ्गशुद्धिरहिते दिवसे ऽपि फलप्रदः
Even on a day lacking purity of the five limbs, it yields fruit.
फलसिद्धिर्यागलग्नाद्राज्ञां विप्रश्य धिष्ण्यतः
Success of the result comes from the time of departure, after consulting the king and the officiant.
केन्द्रत्रिकोणे ह्येकेन योगः शुक्रज्ञसूरिणाम्
In the center and triangle, there is a single yoga for Venus, Mercury, and the Sun.
योगे ऽपि यायिनां क्षेममधियोगे जयो भवेत्
Even in yoga, for those who travel, there is safety; in the superior yoga, victory is attained.
व्यापारशत्रुमूर्तिस्थैश्चन्द्रमन्ददिवाकरैः
With the Moon, Mars, and Sun situated in the forms of the enemy of the enterprise—
शुक्रार्कज्ञार्किभौमेषु लग्नाध्वस्तत्रिशत्रुषु
When the ascendant is afflicted by Venus, Sun, Mercury, Sun, and Mars, among three enemies—
लग्नस्थे त्रिदशाचार्ये धनायस्थैः परग्रहैः
When the ascendant is occupied by the teacher of the gods, and the other planets are in houses of wealth—
लग्ने शुक्रे रवौ लाभे चन्द्रे बन्धुस्थिते यदा
When Venus is in the ascendant, the Sun in the house of gain, and the Moon in the house of relatives—
स्वोच्चसंस्थे सिते लग्ने स्वोच्चे चन्द्रे च लाभगे
When Saturn is exalted in the ascendant, and the Moon is exalted in the house of gain—
त्रिकोणे केन्द्रगाः सौम्याः क्रूरास्त्र्यायारिगा यदि
If benefics are in the triangle and center, and malefics are in the third, sixth, and enemy houses—
जीवार्कचन्द्रा लग्नारिरन्ध्रगा यदि गच्छतः
If Jupiter, Sun, and Moon are in the ascendant, enemy, and eighth houses for those who depart—
त्रिखडायेषु मन्दारौ बलवन्तः शुभा यदि
If Mars and Saturn are strong and benefic in the three angular houses—
स्वोञ्चस्थे लग्नगे जीवे चन्द्रे लाभगते यदि
If the Moon is in the eleventh house, and Jupiter is in the ascendant or in its own sign,
मस्तकोदयगेशुक्र लग्नस्थे लाभगे गुरौ
If Venus is in the house of head-rise, the ascendant, or the eleventh, and Jupiter is in the ascendant or the eleventh,
जीवं लग्नगते शुक्रे केन्द्रे वापि त्रिकोणगे
If Jupiter is in the ascendant with Venus, or in a quadrant or trine,
लग्नगे ज्ञे शुभे केन्द्रे धिष्ण्ये चोपकुले गतः
If Mercury is in the ascendant, a benefic in a quadrant, or in a powerful house,
शुभि त्रिकोणे केन्द्रस्थे लाभे चन्द्रे ऽथवा रवी
If a benefic is in a trine, a planet is in a quadrant, and the Moon or Sun is in the eleventh,
स्वक्षेत्रगे शुभे कद्रे त्रिकोणोयगते गतः
If a benefic is in its own sign, in a quadrant, or in a trine,
इन्दौ स्वस्थे गुरौ केन्द्रे मन्त्रः सप्रणवो गतः
If the Moon is in its own sign, Jupiter is in a quadrant, and the mantra with the sacred syllable is present,
वर्गोत्तमगते शुक्रे ऽप्येवस्मिन्नेव लग्नगे
If Venus is in Vargottama, or likewise in the ascendant,
शुभे केन्द्रे त्रिकोणस्थे चन्द्रे वर्गोत्तमे गतः
If a benefic is in a quadrant or trine, and the Moon is in Vargottama,
मित्रभे ऽथ गुरौ केन्द्रे त्रिकोणस्थे ऽथ वा सिते
If in the house of friends, or Jupiter is in a quadrant or trine, or Saturn is in such a position,
शुभकद्रत्रिकोणस्थे वर्गोत्तमगते गतः
If a benefic is in a quadrant or trine, and is in Vargottama,
ये नृपा यान्त्यरीञ्जेतुं तेषां योगैर्नृपाह्वयैः
