श्रियै पुष्ट्यै त्रयं श्रेष्ठं स्याच्चक्रे लाङ्गलाह्वये
For wealth and nourishment, three are best in the circle called Laṅgala.
समूलभेषु बीजोप्तिरत्युन्त्कृष्टं फलप्रदा
Sowing seeds at the root time yields extremely excellent fruits.
गले त्रयं कज्जलाय वृद्ध्यै च द्वादशोदरे
Three at the throat for collyrium; twelve in the belly for growth.
नाभौ वह्निः पञ्चकं यद्वीजोप्ताविति चिन्तयेत्
At the navel, fire and five (muhurtas) are to be considered for sowing seeds.
न कुर्याद्रोगमुक्तस्य स्नानमाहीं दुशुक्रयोः
One should not bathe on the earth after being freed from disease during Duṣukra.
पुष्यार्कपौष्णधिष्ण्येषु नृत्यारंभः प्रशस्यते
The commencement of dance is especially praised in Puṣya, Ārka, and Pauṣṇa constellations.
मध्ययुञ्जि द्वादशर्क्षाणीन्द्रभान्नवभानि च
In the middle, one should use the twelve stars, Indra, Bhānu, and Navabhānu.
जघन्यास्तोयपार्द्राहिपवनान्तकनाकपाः
The lowest are Toya, Pārdra, Āhi, Pavanāntaka, and Nākapā.
तासां प्रमाणघटिकास्त्रिंशन्नवतिद्यष्टयः
Their standard durations are thirty, ninety, and eight ghaṭikās.
अश्वग्रीन्द्वीज्यनैरृत्यत्वाष्ट्रजत्त्युत्तराभवाः
Aśvagrī, Dvījyana, Nairṛta, Tvāṣṭra, Jattya, and Uttarābhava.
धातृज्येष्टादितिस्वातीपौष्णार्कहरिदेवताः
Dhātṛ, Jyeṣṭhā, Aditi, Svātī, Pauṣṇa, Arka, and Hari are the presiding deities.
शेषाः कुलाकुलास्तारास्तासां मध्ये कुलोडुषु
The remaining ones are called Kulā, Akulā, and Tārā; among them, Kula refers to the lunar mansions.
भेषूपकुलसंज्ञेषु जयमाप्नोति निश्चितम्
In those called Bheṣa and Upakula, victory is certainly attained.
अर्कार्किभौमवारे चेद्भद्राया विषमाङ्घ्रिभम्
If, on a Sunday, Tuesday, or ruled by the Sun, Bhadrā has an uneven number of limbs,
तद्यात्तद्दोषनाशाय गोत्रयं मूल्यमेव वा
Then, to remove that fault, one should offer a cow, or the prescribed fee.
क्रूरविद्धो युतो वापिपुष्यो यदि बलान्वितः
If afflicted by a cruel planet, or joined with Puṣya, or endowed with strength,
रामाग्निऋतुबाणाग्निभूवेदाग्निशरेषु च
In the arrows of Rāma, Agni, Ṛtu, Bāṇa, Agni, Bhūveda, Agni,
वेदनेत्राब्ध्यग्निशतबाहुनेत्ररदाः क्रमात्
The stars called Veda, Netra, Abdhya, Agni, Śatabāhu, Netra, and Radā, in order,
या दृश्यन्ते दीप्तताराः स्वगणे योगतारकाः
The bright stars seen in their own group are called Yogatārās.
उडुंबरश्चाग्निधिष्ण्ये रोहिण्यां जंबुकस्तरुः
The fig tree is in Agnidhiṣṇya, and the jambu tree is in Rohiṇī.
संभूतो ऽदितिभाद्वंशः पिप्पलः पुष्यसंभवः
The Aditibhādva lineage arises from the pippala tree, and Puṣya gives rise to the pippala as well.
पालाशो भाग्यभाज्जातः अक्षश्चार्यमसंभवः
The palāśa tree is born from Bhāgyabhāj, and the akṣa tree is from Aryaman.
स्वात्युक्षजोर्ऽजुनो वृक्षो द्विदैवत्याद्विकङ्कतः
In Svātī and Ukṣa, the arjuna tree; from Dvidaivatya, the vikankata tree.
सर्ज्जवृक्षो मूलभाञ्च वञ्जुलो वारिधिष्ण्यजः
The sarja tree is from Mūlabhā, and the vañjula tree arises from Vāridhiṣṇya.
वसुधिष्ण्याच्छमीवृक्षः कदंबो वारुणर्क्षजः
From Vasudhiṣṇya comes the śamī tree, and from Vāruṇarkṣa, the kadamba tree.
मधुवृक्षः पौष्णधिष्ण्याद्धिष्ण्यवृक्षाः प्रकीर्तिताः
The madhūka tree is from Pauṣṇadhiṣṇya; these are called the trees of the lunar mansions.
योगेशा यमविश्वेन्दुधातृजीवनिशाकराः
The lords of yoga are Yama, Viśve, Indu, Dhātṛ, Jīva, and Niśākara.
गणेशरुद्रधनदत्वष्ट्टमित्रषडाननाः
Gaṇeśa, Rudra, Dhanada, Tvaṣṭṛ, Mitra, and Ṣaḍānana are the deities.
वैधृतिश्च व्यतीपातो महापातावुभौ सदा
Vaidhṛti and Vyatīpāta are both considered great sins at all times.
विष्कंभवज्रयोस्तिस्रः षड्वा गण्डातिगण्डयाईः
Of Viṣkambha and Vajra, three are counted; of Gaṇḍa and Atigaṇḍa, six.
