बह्वपत्सुखारौग्यरोगरूपार्थसंयुतः
He is associated with many dangers, happiness, health, disease, beauty, and wealth.
शूरस्तब्धौ च विषमवधकौ सद्गुणान्वितौ
He is heroic and proud; if inauspicious, he is a killer, but endowed with good qualities.
सुखेज्ञो चारु चेष्टाङ्गौ चन्द्रार्क्कौचेत्कुजादिगौ मूलत्रिकोणस्वर्क्षोच्चे कण्ठस्थास्तु च ये ग्रहाः
The Moon and Sun, when situated in the signs of Mars and others, in their own, trine, exaltation, or friendly signs, and positioned in the throat (third house), are considered to have pleasing movements and forms, and are givers of happiness.
शुभं वर्गोत्तमे जन्म वेसिस्थाने वसद्गृहैः
Birth in a house that is vargottama (the same sign in both the main and divisional chart) and occupied by benefic planets is auspicious.
गुरुजन्मेशलग्नेशाः केन्द्रस्था मध्यसौख्यादाः
When the lords of the birth, Moon, and ascendant are placed in a kendra (angular house), they bestow moderate happiness.
प्रवेशे भास्करकुजौ भृग्वीज्यो मध्यगौ तथा
If the Sun, Mars, Venus, or Jupiter are positioned in the middle houses at the time of entry, the results are likewise.
लग्नात्पुत्रे कलत्रे वाब्जाच्छुभेशयुतेक्षिते
If, from the ascendant, the fifth or seventh house is joined or aspected by benefic lords, it brings good results.
रवौ भीनेर्ऽकजः स्रीघ्नः पुत्रस्थस्तु तथा कुजः
If the Sun is in the twelfth house, Mars in the fifth, or Saturn in the fifth, it destroys offspring; likewise, if Mars is in the fifth.
सद्ग्रहायुतदृष्टश्चेदग्निपातान्मृतिः स्त्रियाः
If malefic planets are joined or aspect the relevant house, death of the wife occurs due to fire.
एकेन यस्य जन्माहुरथ सप्तमसंस्थयोः
If birth occurs with only one planet in the seventh house, it is said to give such results.
कोणोदये ऽस्तां त्यसन्धौ भृगौ बन्ध्यापतेर्जनिः
If Venus rises in a trine or is placed in the eighth house, the birth is of a childless husband.
पापे धीस्थे विधौ क्षीणजन्मा सुतकलत्रिणः
If the Moon is debilitated and aspected by malefics, the person is born without children or spouse.
तौ चेत्सेंदुस्रिया सार्द्धं पुंश्चलो जायते नरः
If those two (the Moon and Venus) are together with the Sun and a female planet, the man is born as a paramour.
नृस्रियो स्तु शुभैर्दृष्टौ तौ द्वौ परिणताङ्गकौ
If those two are aspected by benefics, the man is wealthy and has a well-formed body.
शिल्पी त्र्येशे बुधयुते केन्द्रसंस्थार्किवीक्षिते
If the third lord is joined with Mercury and placed in a kendra, and aspected by the Sun, the person becomes an artisan.
नीचेर्ऽकेन्दोरस्तगयोर्दृष्टयोः सूर्यजेन वा
If the Sun or Moon is debilitated and aspected by the Sun or Mars, the result is likewise.
कर्काल्यं शगते केन्द्रे पापयुक्ते तु गुह्यरुक्
If Saturn is in a kendra and afflicted by malefics, there is disease of the private parts.
चन्द्रे खे ऽस्ताङ्गते भौमे विकलो वेशिगेर्ऽकजे
If the Moon is in the sky and set, Mars is debilitated, or the ascendant lord is with the Sun, the person is deformed.
निधनारिधनान्त्यस्था रवीन्द्वारयमा यदा
When the Sun and Moon are in the twelfth, sixth, or eighth houses, they obstruct longevity.
सौम्या दृष्टा न वायत्रिधीगताः पापखेचराः
If benefics aspect, there is no harm; but if malefic planets occupy the third, sixth, or eighth houses, there is danger.
लग्ने गुरौ द्युने मन्दे वातरोगादितो भवेत्
If Jupiter is in the ascendant or Saturn is in the fourth house, there will be ailments caused by wind.
कुजेन वात्मजे द्यूने संज्ञेंऽत्ये ऽब्जे च सोन्मदः
If Mars is in the fourth house with the son of Vayu, or in conjunction with the Moon, there will be madness.
सर्पशृङ्खलया शाठ्यैर्दृक्कैर्बल्यशुभेक्षितैः
Through serpents, chains, deceit, evil glances, and inauspicious looks in childhood—
रविमन्दकुजैः रवस्थैः सौम्यदृष्टैः समण्डलैः
When the Sun, Saturn, or Mars are situated with malefic aspects, or with benefic aspects and in a circle—
पुञ्जनौ तु फलं पुण्यस्रीणां योग्यं वदेच्च तत्
If the Moon and Jupiter are together, the result should be declared suitable for the virtuous and fortunate.
लग्नेन्दुगं वपुश्चैव यादयूपपीतद्युने
When the ascendant lord and the Moon are in the same sign, or when the Moon is in the fourth house—
सच्छीलभूषणयुता शुभसंदृष्टयोस्तयोः
If both are endowed with good character and ornaments, and are aspected by benefics—
अथ पापा गुणोनाश्च पापवीक्षितथोस्तयोः
But if malefics are present, their qualities are destroyed when aspected by malefics.
बाल्यदुष्टा तथा दासी साध्वी मायावती त्वरा
In childhood, if afflicted, she is a servant; if virtuous, she is deceptive and hasty.
अथ पापा गुणोनाश्च पापवीक्षितयोस्तयोः
But if malefics are present, their qualities are destroyed when aspected by malefics.
