क्षुद्राएंऽगहीनो व्ययगे चन्द्रे प्रोक्तं फलं बुधैः
Lacking limbs and of low status when in loss; the result of the Moon in this position is declared by the wise.
धर्मपापसमाचारो ऽन्यत्र सूर्यसमो मतः
His conduct is both righteous and sinful; elsewhere, he is considered equal to the Sun.
धर्मज्ञो विस्तृतगुणो गाधोज्ञेयरतोर्ऽकवत्
He knows righteousness, is endowed with many virtues, profound, and desirous of knowledge, like the Sun.
नीचस्तपस्वी चष्णवनी लोभीदुष्टस्तनोर्गुरो
He is lowly, ascetic, greedy, wicked, and the teacher of the body.
सुखितस्तनपस्ये च भृगौ जीववदन्यतः
He is happy when the breast is seen, and among the Bhṛgus, he is as if alive in another way.
अलसो लग्नगे मन्दे धर्मात्स्वोञ्चगते नृपः
He is lazy when in the ascendant, weak when in a slow-moving sign, and loses righteousness when in a declining sign, O King.
पूर्णमुच्चेथ पादोनफलं मूलत्रिकोणगे
When full and in the zenith, he gives results; when at the base or in the triangle, the fruit is less.
शत्रुभे ऽल्पं तथा नीचास्तङ्गते फलशून्यता
When with an enemy, the result is little; likewise, when in a low or setting position, there is fruitlessness.
बन्धुपूज्यो ऽथधनवान्सुखी भोगी नृपः क्रमात्
He is honored by relatives, then wealthy, happy, and enjoys pleasures, in order.
नृपश्च मित्रभास्थेषु खेटे व्रेकादिषु क्रमात्
And the king, when the planet is with friendly signs, beginning with Aries, in order—
ख्यातो महोद्यमी चातितेजा धीमान्धनी बली
He becomes renowned, highly enterprising, exceedingly brilliant, intelligent, wealthy, and strong.
कान्तिमार्द्दवसौभाग्यभोगधीमान्भवेन्नरः
A man becomes endowed with beauty, gentleness, good fortune, enjoyment, and intelligence.
विषमर्क्षेषु भास्कर्या सौम्या नोक्तफलप्रदाः
In inauspicious signs, the Sun and benefics do not give the stated results.
करोत्यन्नगतस्तद्वत्तत्तुल्यगुणरूपिणम्
If another planet occupies that place, it produces a person with similar qualities and form.
तीक्ष्णे ऽतिहिंस्रश्च भवेद्गुरुतल्पगतोटनः
If in a cruel sign, he becomes extremely violent; if on the guru’s couch, he is a sinner.
विष्टिकृद्दासवृत्तिश्च पापो हिंस्नो ऽमतिर्भवेत्
He causes obstacles, lives as a servant, is sinful, violent, and lacks intelligence.
जायाबलविभूषाढ्यः सत्त्वयुक्तो ऽतिसाहसी
He is endowed with wife, strength, and ornaments, possesses good character, and is exceedingly daring.
आमयी वा स्वभार्यायां विषमः पारदारिकः
He is diseased, or with his own wife, or, if inauspicious, an adulterer.
सुखधीधनकीर्त्यालस्तेजस्वी लोकपूजितः
He is happy, intelligent, wealthy, famed, brilliant, and honored by people.
मेधाकलाकाव्यशिल्पविवादकपटाञ्चितः
He is endowed with intelligence, arts, poetry, sculpture, debate, and cunning.
बह्वपत्सुखारौग्यरोगरूपार्थसंयुतः
He is associated with many dangers, happiness, health, disease, beauty, and wealth.
शूरस्तब्धौ च विषमवधकौ सद्गुणान्वितौ
He is heroic and proud; if inauspicious, he is a killer, but endowed with good qualities.
सुखेज्ञो चारु चेष्टाङ्गौ चन्द्रार्क्कौचेत्कुजादिगौ मूलत्रिकोणस्वर्क्षोच्चे कण्ठस्थास्तु च ये ग्रहाः
The Moon and Sun, when situated in the signs of Mars and others, in their own, trine, exaltation, or friendly signs, and positioned in the throat (third house), are considered to have pleasing movements and forms, and are givers of happiness.
शुभं वर्गोत्तमे जन्म वेसिस्थाने वसद्गृहैः
Birth in a house that is vargottama (the same sign in both the main and divisional chart) and occupied by benefic planets is auspicious.
गुरुजन्मेशलग्नेशाः केन्द्रस्था मध्यसौख्यादाः
When the lords of the birth, Moon, and ascendant are placed in a kendra (angular house), they bestow moderate happiness.
प्रवेशे भास्करकुजौ भृग्वीज्यो मध्यगौ तथा
If the Sun, Mars, Venus, or Jupiter are positioned in the middle houses at the time of entry, the results are likewise.
लग्नात्पुत्रे कलत्रे वाब्जाच्छुभेशयुतेक्षिते
If, from the ascendant, the fifth or seventh house is joined or aspected by benefic lords, it brings good results.
रवौ भीनेर्ऽकजः स्रीघ्नः पुत्रस्थस्तु तथा कुजः
If the Sun is in the twelfth house, Mars in the fifth, or Saturn in the fifth, it destroys offspring; likewise, if Mars is in the fifth.
सद्ग्रहायुतदृष्टश्चेदग्निपातान्मृतिः स्त्रियाः
If malefic planets are joined or aspect the relevant house, death of the wife occurs due to fire.
एकेन यस्य जन्माहुरथ सप्तमसंस्थयोः
If birth occurs with only one planet in the seventh house, it is said to give such results.
