लग्रे वर्गोत्तमे ऽब्जे वा चतुरादिग्रहेक्षिते
If the ascendant is vargottama or in the lotus, and observed by four or more planets.
भूपकृत्तुङ्गगोर्केगेस्तेसाजार्केखभे गुरौ
If the ruler is exalted, in Taurus, Leo, Gemini, or Sun, or in the ascendant, and with Jupiter.

If Jupiter is in Sagittarius, or Mercury is in Taurus, and if the Moon is in the night, O king.
कविक्षौ तुलयुरमस्थौ वै भूपः कीर्तिमान्भवेन्त्
If Mercury is in Virgo, Libra, or Aries, then the king becomes renowned.
वक्ष्यमाणैर्नृपसुतो ज्ञेयो भूयो मुनीश्वर
The king's son is to be known by the rules to be spoken, O best of sages.
सिंहेर्ऽके मेषलग्ने ऽजे मृगे भौमे घटे ऽष्टमे
If Leo, Sun, Aries ascendant, Capricorn, Mars, Aquarius, or the eighth house is occupied.
पातालगे धर्मगे ऽब्जे शुभदृष्टे युते मुने
If the lord of the seventh, ninth, or twelfth is in the lotus, and aspected by benefics, O sage.
सौम्ये वीर्ययुतेंऽगस्थे बलाढ्येशुभगे शुभे
If a benefic, endowed with strength, is in the ascendant, and if there is abundance and auspiciousness.
मेषूरणायतनुगाः शशिसूर्यजसूरयः
Those who follow the paths of Aries and other signs are the children of the Moon, Sun, and other luminaries.
वृषेंऽगे ऽब्जोधनारिस्थो जीवार्की लांभगाः परे
In Taurus, the Moon is strong; in Libra, the Sun is exalted; in the remaining signs, the planets are situated accordingly.
लग्ने वक्रासितौ चन्द्रेज्यसितार्कबुधाः क्रमात्
