चक्राद्धि बहिरन्तश्च दृश्यादृश्योपरे ऽन्यथा
From the wheel (zodiac), both inside and outside, visible and invisible, or otherwise, the results are to be determined.
चन्द्रनन्दांशवद्वर्णः शीर्षाद्यङ्गविभाग युक्

क्रृरदृक्तरुणो भौमः पैत्तिकश्चपलस्तथा
Fierce-eyed, youthful, ruled by Mars, of pitta nature, and restless likewise.
पिङ्गके श्लक्षणो दीर्घः कफीधीमान्गुरुर्मतः
Tawny, smooth, tall, of kapha constitution, intelligent, and governed by Jupiter.
दीर्घः कपिलदृड्भन्दो निलीखरकचोलसः
Tall, with brown eyes, strong-bodied, blue, rough, and ruled by Saturn.
मन्दार्कचन्द्रसोम्यास्पुजिज्जीवकुभुवः क्रमात्
Gentle, solar, lunar, and pleasant, in order, are the characteristics of the living beings of the earth.
चक्रपूर्वापरे पापसौम्यैः कीटतनौ मृतिः
With malefic and benefic planets in the previous and following signs, death occurs in the body of an insect.
न चेद्दृष्टस्तदा मृत्युर्जातस्य भवति ध्रुवम्
If it is not seen, then death certainly occurs for the one born.
केन्द्रेषु वाब्जोसंयुक्तः स्मरान्त्यमृतिलग्नगः
In the angular houses, if joined with Venus, the end of life is indicated by the planet occupying the death-sign.
षष्टेमेब्जे ऽसदृष्टेसद्यो मृत्युः शुभेक्षिते
In the sixth house, if Venus is not seen, death occurs immediately; if benefic planets are seen, it is auspicious.
क्षीणेब्जेङ्गे रन्ध्रकेन्दे पापे पापान्तरस्थिते
If Venus is weak, and the ascendant, eighth, or twelfth house is occupied by malefics or other malefics are present,
पापैश्चन्द्रास्तगैर्मात्रा सार्द्धं सदृष्टिमन्तरा
If the Moon is aspected by malefics, with its mother, and there is no benefic aspect,
सग्नस्थे वा विधौपापैरस्तस्थैर्मृतिमाप्नुयात्
If the Sun is situated with malefics or aspected by them, one attains death.
लग्ने रवौ तु शस्रेण सवीर्यासद्भिरष्टगैः
If the ascendant and Sun are with malefics, possessing strength, and eight malefics are present,
शषैस्त्र्यरीशगैरायुरमितं भवति ध्रुवम्
When the lord of the sixth, eighth, or twelfth is strong, life is certainly limited.
स्वतुङ्गस्थेष्वशेषेषु परमायुः प्रकीर्तितम्
When these are situated in their highest exaltation, supreme longevity is declared.

सवीर्ये सत्सु केन्द्रेषु त्रिंशच्छुद्धियुते ऽष्टमे
When strong planets are in the angles, and the eighth house is joined with thirty degrees of purity,
लग्नाष्टमेशावष्टस्थौ भाब्दमायुः करौ मतौ
When the ascendant lord and the eighth lord are both in the eighth, a year of life is considered to be produced.
धर्माङ्गस्थेशनौ शुक्रे केन्द्रे ऽब्जे व्ययधर्मगे

कवीज्ययोगे सौम्याब्जौ लग्ने मृत्यौ च स्वेषवः
When Mercury and Venus are in conjunction, and benefics are in the ascendant or the house of death, their own results occur.
सूर्याधिक बले पैण्डं निसर्गाञ्च विधोर्बले
When the Sun is stronger, the calculation is by the Sun; when the Moon is stronger, the calculation is by the Moon.
