चक्रिंश्छिन्धि भवाञ्छौरिर्भवाञ्शौरिरित्यपि
You are the wielder of the discus; you are the thief; you are also the mighty one.
तेजांसि मंस्यते गङ्गा हरिश्छेत्ता मरःशिवः
She considers the energies to be the Ganges; if Hari cuts, it is death; if Shiva, it is destruction.
रोमो दृष्टो ऽबला अत्र सुप्ता इष्टा इमा यतः

This one is the wielder of the Śārṅga bow; this is Rāma; thus the collection is proclaimed.
रामे रञ्जत् मे मनः सुविशदं हे राम तुभ्यं नमः
My mind delights in Rāma, clear and pure; O Rāma, I bow to you.
सर्व इत्यादिका गोपाः सखा चैव पतिर्हरिः
All, beginning with the cowherds, are friends; and Hari is the husband.
अनङ्घान्गोधुग्लिट् च द्वे त्रयश्चत्वार एव च
Without fault, with limbs of a cow, and two, three, four as well.
अष्टौ अयं मुने सम्राट् सविभ्रद्वपुङ्मनः
Eight, O sage, is this emperor, with a restless form and mind.
उशनासाविंमे पुंसि स्यारक्तलविरामकाः

गौर्नौंरुपान् दूद्यौर्गोः क्षुत् ककुप्संवित्तु वा क्वचित्

ग्रामण्यंबुरवलप्वेवं कर्तृ चातिरि वातिनु

एतद्ब्रह्माहश्च दण्डी असृक्किञ्चित्त्यदादि च

तिर्यग्यकृच्छकृच्चैव ददद्भवत्पचत्तुदत्
Moving sideways, difficult, and also giving; becoming, eating, and striking.
गुणद्रव्य क्रियायोगांस्रिलिङ्गांश्च कति ब्रुवे
I declare how many qualities, substances, actions, unions, and genders there are.
पटुः स्वयंभूः कर्ता च माता चैव व पिता च ना
The skilled one, the self-born, the doer, and the mother, but not the father.
धनाकृसोमौ चागर्हस्तविर्ग्रथास्वर्णन्बहू
Wealth, the moon, and the hand of the cow; the chariot, the gold, and many others.
रिमपव्विषाद्वजातानहो तथा सर्वं विश्वोभये चोभौ अन्यान्तरेतराणि च
Born from the rim, the poison, the vajra, the snake; thus, all, the universe, both, and the mutual others.
पूर्वोत्तरोत्तराश्चैव दक्षिणश्चोत्तराधरौ
The former, the latter, and also the southern, the upper, and the lower.
युष्मदस्मञ्च प्रथमश्चरमोल्पस्तथार्धकः
The first, the last, the lesser, and the half, concerning you and us.
स्वेकाभुविरोधपरि विपर्ययश्चाव्ययास्तथा
Likewise, the opposition of one’s own and another, reversal, and the imperishable.
गार्ग्यो नाडायनात्रेयौ गाङ्गेयः पैतृष्वस्रीयः
Gārgya, Nāḍāyana, Ātreya, and Gāṅgeya are maternal cousins.
क्रियायुजोः कर्मकर्त्रोर्धैरियः कौङ्कुमं तथा
Of the two joined in action, the agent of the deed, and steadfastness, as well as saffron.
स्वार्थे चौरस्तु तुल्यार्थे चन्द्रवन्मुखमीक्षते
In one’s own interest, a thief; in equal interest, he gazes at the face like the moon.
गोमान्धनी च धनवानस्त्यर्थे प्रमितौ कियान्
A cow is wealth; the wealthy man, in matters of distress, how much is measured?
स्रग्वी तपस्वी मेधावी मायाव्यस्त्यर्थ एव च
One adorned with a garland, an ascetic, an intelligent man, a deceiver—these are only in respect to the matter.
ईषदपरिसमाप्तौ कल्पव्देशीय एव च

पटुजातीयः कुत्सायां वैद्यपाशः प्रशंसने

In abundance and the like, made of food; made of clay, and likewise made of gold.
कृष्णतरः शुक्लतमः किम आख्यानतो ऽव्ययान्

परिमाणे जानुदघ्नं जानुद्वयसमित्यपि
