अप्रमेयमनादारमाधाराधेयरूपकम्
Immeasurable, without beginning or support, the very form of that which is both the foundation and the founded.
हृद्गुहानिलयं देवं योगिभिः परिसेवितम्
The God who dwells in the cave of the heart, served by yogis.
नादात्मकं नादबीजं प्रणवात्मकमव्ययम्
Of the nature of sound, the seed of sound, of the essence of Om, imperishable.
अजरं साक्षिणं त्वस्य ह्यवाङ्मनसगोचरम्
Ageless, the witness, indeed beyond the reach of speech and mind.
इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिः सत्त्वं तेजो बलं धृतिः
The senses, mind, intellect, being, energy, strength, and steadfastness—
विद्याविद्यात्मकं प्राहुः परात्परतरं तथा
Are said to be of the nature of knowledge and ignorance, and also beyond the highest.
ये प्रपन्ना महात्मानस्तेषां मुक्तिर्हि शाश्वती
For those great souls who have taken refuge, their liberation is eternal.
नतो ऽस्मि भूयो ऽपि नतो ऽस्मि भूयो ऽपि नतो ऽस्मि भूयः
I bow again and again, I bow again and again, I bow yet again.
यन्नाम दुष्कर्मनिवारणायचय तमप्रमेयं पुरुषं भजामि
I worship that immeasurable Person whose name removes evil deeds.
तत्तद्विलक्षणं श्रेष्ठं श्रेष्ठाच्छ्रष्ठतरं भजे
I worship that which is distinct from all, supreme, and greater than the greatest.
परं च विद्याविद्याभ्यां हृदंबुजनिवासिनम्
And also the Supreme, beyond knowledge and ignorance, who dwells in the lotus of the heart.
अणोरणीयांसमजं सर्वोपाधिविवर्जितम्
Unborn, subtler than the subtlest, free from all limiting conditions.
विष्णुसंज्ञं जगद्धाम तमस्मि शरणं गतः
Known as Vishnu, the abode of the universe—to Him I have taken refuge.
पूज्यात्पूज्यतरं शान्तं गतो ऽस्मि शरणं प्रभुम्
More worthy of worship than the most worshipful, serene—I have sought refuge in the Lord.
सर्वस्मादधिकं नित्यं नतो ऽस्मि विभुमव्ययम्
Superior to all, eternal—I bow to the all-pervading, imperishable One.
अविद्याकार्य रहितः परमात्मेति गीयते
Free from the effects of ignorance, He is sung as the Supreme Self.
वरं वरेण्यमजनं प्रणतो ऽस्मि परात्परम्
The best of the best, unborn—I bow to the One beyond the highest.
ज्ञानात्मकं ज्ञाननिधिं ज्ञानसंस्थं विभुं भजे
Of the nature of knowledge, the treasure of knowledge, established in knowledge, the all-pervading—I worship.
सूर्येदुवत्प्रोज्ज्वलने त्रमिन्द्रं रवगस्वरुपं वपतिस्वरूपम्
Like the sun blazing forth, you shine, O Indra, in the form of the sun and the form of the lord of sacrifice.
तंवाङ्मनो ऽचिन्त्यमनन्तशक्तिं ज्ञानैकवेद्यं पुरुषं भजामि
I worship that Person, inconceivable to speech and mind, of infinite power, knowable only through knowledge.
यः पाति लोकान्परिपूर्णभावस्तमप्रमेयं शरणं प्रपद्ये
I take refuge in Him, whose fullness sustains the worlds, who is immeasurable.
समस्तयज्ञैः परिजुष्टमाद्यं नतो ऽस्मि तुष्टिप्रदमुग्रवीर्यम्
I bow to the primal one, honored by all sacrifices, who grants satisfaction, of mighty strength.
गुणप्रियं कामदमस्तसंगमतीन्द्रियं विश्वभघुजं वितृष्णम्
Lover of virtue, bestower of desires, unattached, beyond the senses, holding the universe in His arms, free from craving.
विज्ञानभेदं प्रतिपन्नकल्पं न वाङ्मयं प्राणमयं भजामि
I do not worship that which is composed of speech or life-breath, but that which is realized through the diversity of knowledge and established in the imagination.
जानन्ति देवा कमलोद्भवाद्यस्तोष्याम्यहं तं कथमात्मरूपम्
The gods, beginning with the lotus-born, know Him; how then shall I, desiring to please Him, comprehend His true nature?
दयांबुधे पाहि भयाकुलं मां पुनः पुनस्त्वां शरणं प्रपद्ये
O ocean of compassion, protect me, who am afflicted by fear; again and again I take refuge in You.
प्रत्यक्षतामगात्तस्य भगवांस्तेजसां निधिः
Then the Blessed Lord, the treasury of splendor, became manifest before him.
किरीटिनं कुण्डलिनं हारकेयूरभूषितम्
He appeared adorned with a crown, earrings, a necklace, and armlets.
नासाविन्यस्तमुक्ता भवर्धमानतनुच्छविम्
A pearl was set upon His nose, enhancing the radiance of His half-divine body.
तुलसीकोमलदलैरर्चिताङ्घ्निं महाद्युतिम्
His feet, worshipped with tender tulasi leaves, shone with great brilliance.
