विमुक्तस्त्वत्प्रसादेन महापातककञ्चुकात्
Freed by your grace from the armor of great sin,
तथैव सर्वपापानि विनष्टान्यतिवेगतः
In the same way, all sins have been utterly destroyed.
प्रापितो ऽस्मि त्वया तस्मात्तद्विष्णोः परमं पदम्
By you, I have been brought to that supreme abode of Vishnu.
तस्मान्नतो ऽस्मि ते विद्वन्मत्कृतं तत्क्षमस्व च
Therefore, O wise one, I bow to you; forgive what I have done.
प्रदक्षिणात्रयं कृत्वा नमस्कारं चकार सः
Having performed three circumambulations, he offered his salutations.
अप्सरोगणसंकीर्णः प्रपेदे हरिमन्दिरम्
Surrounded by groups of Apsaras, he reached the temple of Hari.
शिरस्यञ्जलिमाधाय तुष्टाव कमलापतिम्
Placing his joined palms on his head, he praised the Lord of Lakshmi.
वरेण तेनोक्तङ्को ऽपि प्रपेदे परमं पदम्
By the boon granted by him, Uktaṅka also attained the supreme abode.
उक्तङ्कः पुण्यपुरुषः कीदृशं लब्धवान्वरम्
What kind of boon did the virtuous Uktaṅka obtain?
पादोदकस्य माहात्म्यं दृष्ट्वा तुष्टाव भक्तितः
Seeing the greatness of the water from the feet, he praised with devotion.
चक्राब्जशार्ङ्गीसिधरं महान्तं स्मृतार्तिनिघ्नं शरणं प्रपद्ये
I take refuge in the great Lord, bearer of the discus, lotus, bow, and sword, destroyer of great distress remembered, the shelter.
यत्क्रोधजो हॄन्ति जगञ्च रुद्रस्तमादिदेवं प्रणतो ऽस्मि विष्णुम्
I bow to Vishnu, the primeval God, from whose anger Rudra arises and by whom the world is dissolved.
वेदान्तवेद्यं पुकुषं पुराणं तैजोनिधिं विष्णुमहं प्रपन्नः
I take refuge in Vishnu, the ancient, the pure, the one known through Vedanta, the treasure of radiance.
ज्ञानैकवेद्यो भगवाननादिः प्रसीदतां व्यष्टिस प्रष्टिरुपः
May the Lord, known only through knowledge, beginningless, singular, and the cause of all, be gracious to me.
नित्यः प्रपन्नार्ति हरः परात्मा दयांबुधिर्मे वरदस्तु भघूयात्
May the eternal, remover of the distress of those who seek refuge, the supreme self, ocean of compassion, grant me a boon.
त्वमेव तत्सर्वमनन्तसारं त्वत्तः परं नास्ति यतः परात्मन्
You alone are all this, of infinite essence; there is nothing beyond you, O supreme self.
निरञ्जनं निर्मलमप्रमेयं पश्यन्ति सन्तः परमार्थसंज्ञम्
The pure, stainless, immeasurable one is seen by the good as the true reality.
तथैव सर्वेष्वर एक एव प्रदृश्यते भिन्न इवारिवलात्मा
In the same way, the one Lord of all appears as if different, like the soul in various bodies.
त एव मायारहितास्तदेव पसअयन्ति सर्वात्मकमात्मरुपम्
Those free from illusion see that very one, the all-pervading, as their own self.
समस्तमेतदुद्भूतं यतो यत्र प्रतिष्टितम्
From whom all this arises and in whom it is established.
अप्रमेयमनादारमाधाराधेयरूपकम्
Immeasurable, without beginning or support, the very form of that which is both the foundation and the founded.
हृद्गुहानिलयं देवं योगिभिः परिसेवितम्
The God who dwells in the cave of the heart, served by yogis.
नादात्मकं नादबीजं प्रणवात्मकमव्ययम्
Of the nature of sound, the seed of sound, of the essence of Om, imperishable.
अजरं साक्षिणं त्वस्य ह्यवाङ्मनसगोचरम्
Ageless, the witness, indeed beyond the reach of speech and mind.
इन्द्रियाणि मनो बुद्धिः सत्त्वं तेजो बलं धृतिः
The senses, mind, intellect, being, energy, strength, and steadfastness—
विद्याविद्यात्मकं प्राहुः परात्परतरं तथा
Are said to be of the nature of knowledge and ignorance, and also beyond the highest.
ये प्रपन्ना महात्मानस्तेषां मुक्तिर्हि शाश्वती
For those great souls who have taken refuge, their liberation is eternal.
नतो ऽस्मि भूयो ऽपि नतो ऽस्मि भूयो ऽपि नतो ऽस्मि भूयः
I bow again and again, I bow again and again, I bow yet again.
यन्नाम दुष्कर्मनिवारणायचय तमप्रमेयं पुरुषं भजामि
I worship that immeasurable Person whose name removes evil deeds.
तत्तद्विलक्षणं श्रेष्ठं श्रेष्ठाच्छ्रष्ठतरं भजे
I worship that which is distinct from all, supreme, and greater than the greatest.
