पुनः कल्ये समुत्थाय कृत्वा कर्म यथोचितम्
Again, rising in the morning, one should perform the prescribed duties.
पायसं घृतसंमिश्रं नालिकेरफलान्वितम्
One should offer rice pudding mixed with ghee and accompanied by coconut fruit.
केशवः केशिहा देवः सर्वसंपत्प्रदायकः
Keśava, the slayer of Keśi, the divine one, grants all prosperity.
ब्रह्मणान्भोजयेत्पश्चाच्छक्तितो बन्धुभिः सह
Afterwards, one should feed the Brahmins together with relatives, according to one's ability.
इति यः कुरुते भक्त्या केशवार्चनमुत्तमम्
Thus, whoever performs this excellent worship of Keśava with devotion—
पौषमासे सिते पक्षे द्वादश्यां समुपोषितः
In the month of Pauṣa, on the bright fortnight, on the twelfth day, having fasted—
पयसा स्नाप्य नैवेद्यं पायसं च समर्पयेत्
One should bathe the deity with milk and offer rice pudding as a sacred food.
धूपैर्दीपैश्च नैवेद्यैर्गन्धैः पुष्पैर्मनोरमैः
With incense, lamps, offerings, fragrant substances, and delightful flowers—
कृशरान्नं च विप्राय दद्यात्सघृतदक्षिणम्
One should give cooked rice with ghee as a gift to a Brahmin.
नारायणः प्रसन्नः स्यात्कृशरान्नप्रदानतः
Nārāyaṇa becomes pleased by the giving of cooked rice.
द्विजांश्च भोजेयच्छक्त्या स्वयमद्यात्सबान्धवः
One should feed the twice-born according to one's capacity, and eat together with relatives.
अग्निष्टोमाष्टकफलं स संपूर्णमवाप्नुयात्
He attains the full fruit of the Agniṣṭoma and Aṣṭaka rites.
नमस्ते माधवायेति हुत्वाष्टौ च घृताहुतीः
Reciting 'Salutations to Mādhava,' one should offer eight oblations of ghee.
पुष्पगन्धाक्षतैरर्चेत्सावधानेन चेतसा
With flowers, fragrant substances, and rice grains, one should worship with attentive mind.
कल्यकर्म च निर्वर्त्य माधवं पुनरर्चयेत्
Having completed the morning duties, one should again worship Mādhava.
सदक्षिणं सवास्त्रञ्च सर्वपापविमुक्तये
With gifts and garments, for the removal of all sins.
तिलदानेन महता सर्वान्कामान्प्रयच्छतु
By giving a great gift of sesame, may he grant all desires.
ब्रह्मणान्भोजयेच्छक्त्या संस्मरन्माधवं प्रभुम्
He should feed the Brahmins according to his ability, remembering Mādhava, the Lord.
वाजपेय शतस्यासौ संपूर्णं फलमाप्नुयात्
He attains the full fruit of a hundred Vājapeya sacrifices.
गोविन्दाय नमस्तुभ्यमिति संपूजयेद्व्रती
The observer of the vow should worship, saying: 'Obeisance to Govinda, to you.'
पूर्वमानेन पयसा गोविन्दं स्नापयेच्छुचिः
First, with pure intent, he should bathe Govinda with milk, as prescribed.
प्रातः कृत्यं समाप्याथ गोविन्दं पूजयेत्पुनः
After completing the morning duties, he should again worship Govinda.
नमो गोविन्द सर्वेश गोपिकाजनवल्लभ
'Salutations to Govinda, Lord of all, beloved of the gopīs.'
एवं कृत्वा व्रतं सम्यक् सर्वपापविवर्जितः
Having thus properly observed the vow, he becomes free from all sins.
चैत्रमासे सिते पक्षे द्वादश्यां समुपोषितः
In the bright fortnight of the month of Caitra, on the twelfth day, having fasted—
क्षीरेण स्नापयेद्विष्णुं पूर्वमानेन शक्तितः
He should bathe Viṣṇu with milk, as prescribed and according to his ability.
कृत्वा जागरणं रात्रौ पूजयेत्पूर्ववद्रूती
Having kept vigil at night, the observer of the vow should worship as before.
अष्टोत्तरशतं हुत्वा मधअवाज्यतिलमिश्रितम्
Having offered one hundred and eight oblations mixed with honey, ghee, and sesame—
प्राणरुपी महाविष्णुः प्राणदः सर्ववल्लभः
The great Viṣṇu, embodiment of life, giver of life, beloved of all—
एवं कृत्वा नरो भक्त्या सर्वपापविवर्जितः
Thus, having done so with devotion, a man becomes free from all sins.
