By which even those stained with great sins become purified and reach the temple of Hari,
At midnight, for the benefit of the gods, Mohinī was created by the Creator,
And the breaking of the fast on the thirteenth day destroys the observance of the fast,
Those Ekādaśīs that are distinct are indeed observed by Vaiṣṇavas,
It is prescribed to be observed always, in both fortnights, according to the rule, as a vow of three days' duration,
On the twelfth day, the vow should be performed, with complete fasting from water,
The offering to Hari is prescribed, equal in measure to one's own food,
Those who are free from desire, at midnight, abandon the viddhā (mixed) Ekādaśī by the Yāmyā rule,
O sinless one, at the end of Yama's period, you should maintain the observance of that,
The lunar days are determined by the movements of the sun and moon, and the tenth day reaches its end,
Beginning from the appearance of dawn, until sunrise occurs,
Whoever observes the viddhā Ekādaśī vow as prescribed by you,
Here, the period of dawn is to be known as lasting for two muhūrtas,
Their shortness or length should be understood according to the tri-rāśi (three-sign) rule,
O pure-smiled one, be well! The merit of those who fast is obtained together with them,
For the increase of heretics and the accumulation of sin,
O Mohinī, a place has been given to you, marked by the time of dawn,
Whatever good deed or auspicious result comes to them, enjoy it; be gracious, O best of Brāhmaṇas.
He considered his life fulfilled by the devoted observance of the sacred place that removes one's own sins.
In this world, which is sustained by the mere presence of consciousness and air, the path made by the king was thoroughly cleansed.
Thus reflecting, she bowed to Kṣiptipāla and, delighted, also to her own priest.
Assuming a form of hardship, she spends the day, but in an excellent form she becomes the cause of hell for men.
The drum, adorned with golden ornaments and placed upon a rutting elephant, was sounded with a pleasing tone as instructed.
When the task is seen, all the people place their trust in it.
An unmanifest rise among men will become a cause of delusion.
Indeed, O wide-eyed one, your name is truly fitting, for people call you Mohinī.
Having thus spoken, the son of Vivasvat, delighted, bowed to that daughter of Brahmā.
When the gods had departed, that Mohinī approached Brahmā, the lord of gods and demons.
O lord of the worlds, my body has been burned; grant that I may obtain it again—do so accordingly.
Today, the city has been subdued by the king, and the pacifier has been made victorious, O father, by your power.
