हरेर्दिने पापभयापहे तु तृणैः समाहं भविता त्रिविष्टपे
On the day of Hari, which removes the fear of sin, I shall become as insignificant as grass in heaven.
सत्वाधिको यास्यति मोक्षमार्गं गन्तास्मि पाप नरकं सुदारुणम्
He who is endowed with virtue will attain the path of liberation, but I, a sinner, shall go to the dreadful hell.
मोहिनी मोहसंयुक्ता पपात धरणीतले

ग्रीवायाश्छेदनार्थाय वृषाङ्गदसुतस्य तु

विहाय लक्ष्मीमवनीप्रसूतां विहाय दासीःसुधनं स कोशम्
He abandoned the wealth born of the earth, the maidservants, Sudhana, and the treasury.
जगाम देहं मधुसूदनस्य ततोंऽबरात्पुष्पचयः पपात

राजन् जगुर्गीतमतीव रम्यं देवाङ्गनाः संननृतुर्मुदान्विताः

हरेस्तनौ भूमिपतिं प्रविष्टं सदारपुत्रं स्वलिपिं प्रमार्ज्य

भीतः पुनः प्राप्य पितामहान्तिकं प्रोवाच देवं चतुराननं रुदन्

विधेहि चान्यत्प्रकरोमि तात निदेशनं मास्तु मदीय दण्डम्

लोकः प्रयाति वैकुंण्ठं न मां कश्चित्प्रपद्यते
People go to Vaikuṇṭha, but no one approaches me.
तथापि सर्वभूतानां न बुद्धिः परिवर्तते
Yet, even so, the minds of all beings do not change.
प्रयान्ति परमं लोकं लुप्तपापाः पितामह
Those whose sins are erased, O Ancestor, attain the highest realm.
नायाति तव सामीप्यं न भुङ्क्ते लोकगर्हिता
He does not approach your presence, nor does he enjoy what is despised by the world.
रविपुत्रवचः श्रुत्वा प्रोवाच कमलासनः
Hearing the words of the son of the sun, the lotus-seated one spoke.
मोहिन्यां प्रतिबुद्धायां करिष्यामो दिवाकरे
When Mohinī is awakened, O Sun, we shall act.
ततो देव गणाः सर्वे शतक्रतुपुरोगमाः
Then all the hosts of gods, led by Śatakratu, O king,
समायाता महीपाल नारीं तां प्रतिबोधितुम्
Assembled, O ruler of the earth, to awaken that woman.
तेजोहीनां निरानन्दां शुष्कतोयां नदीमिव
Like a river deprived of radiance, joyless, and dry of water.
पराजितो यथा मर्त्यः प्रल्मानकुसुमं यथा
Like a mortal defeated, like a flower without fragrance.
गतशालिस्तु केदारो निष्प्र यथा
Like a field where the rice is gone, barren.
मन्थानं नवनीते वा उद्धृते धरणीपते
Like a churn after the butter has been taken out, O lord of the earth.
हत नाथां तु युवतीं धान्यहीनां प्रजां यथा
Like a young woman bereft of her protector, like offspring without grain.
पृथ्वीं भूपालहीना वा मन्त्रही यथा नृप
Like the earth without a ruler, like a king without counsel.
जलहीनं यथा कुंभं पङ्कस्थं गोपतिं यथा
Like a pot without water, like a cowherd sunk in mud.
