shining like a hundred suns, covered everywhere with gold,
that region of earth, crowded with mountains, adorned with many minerals,
filled with countless rivers, cleansed by pure waters of the Ganges,
with ripe, fragrant fruits the size of pots, O King,
accompanied by the hum of bees and resounding with the notes of cuckoos,
beholding this, the king entered that great mountain,
as he gazed all around, he saw the entire assembly of trees and birds,
rushing swiftly, the lord of the earth went along with them,
bewildered by whom, having abandoned his vehicle, as if leaping in three strides,
he saw, standing on the mountain, a staff shining like molten gold, as if fashioned for desire,
like the very form of the earth, or the essence of the mountain, or a heap of beauty,
being suddenly drawn toward the three-eyed one, the emblem of the linga, for the delight of the gods,
bewildered, the king fell, struck by the arrow of desire that causes delusion,
Sunetrā gazed at the king, who was moving about, with a sidelong glance,
shaking off the groups of animals and birds, with her fine garments, blocking her cheeks and arms,
having left Hara, the most revered, the auspicious linga, she went to his side with noble gestures.
Rukmangada, tormented by the arrows of desire, arise, O King; I am now under your sway.
O ruler, you would disregard me, though my form is enchanting to behold.
You are steadfast; why would you mock yourself, who acts nobly?
Having given the prescribed charity, enjoy me, your devoted servant skilled in love.
Opening his eyes, O King, which resembled lotus petals, he spoke thus.
By me, O maiden, many times have faces like the full moon been seen.
Yet the form you possess bewilders the world.
O goddess, I am enchanted by your radiance, though you have spoken no word.
There is nothing I would not give, even in all three worlds, for one whose mind is bound by love for you.
O beautiful one, with full breasts, a body adorned like the sky, without blemish, and gentle in nature.
With a girdled waist, filled with elephants and horses, pleasing to ministers, and surrounded by cities.
What need is there for wealth or gems? Be gracious to me, O enchantress.
She spoke, smiling, and then raised the king.
Whatever I command at the appointed time, that must be done without hesitation.
