There is no man in the three worlds who, upon seeing me—
No one who desires good should praise themselves.
Even so, O Brahman, praise should be offered for the sake of a purpose.
Command me, O Lord of the universe; I will agitate him, without doubt.
What then of a man endowed with consciousness, who breathes in and out?
It causes madness among men and destroys difficult vows.
As long as the arrow-like glances of these playful women, equipped with the arch of the brow and blue lashes, do not fall upon the path of hearing, they do not steal steadiness from the heart.
Where are those glances, marked by raised brows, astonishment, sidelong looks, anger, favor, and laughter, in the moon?
A young woman, whether remembered or seen by a man, indeed bewilders him, surpassing even the gods.
Command me, O Lord of the universe; I will delude the three worlds.
O lovely one, with thighs like those of a proud, intoxicated elephant.
By you, it has been well secured, accomplished with the goad of knowledge.
O wide-eyed one, truly your form is enchanting.
For the purpose for which I created you, fulfill that, O beautiful-faced one.
O auspicious one, whose wife is Sandhyāvalī, whose beauty resembles yours.
His strength is equal to ten elephants, radiant like the sun in splendor.
He blazes with energy like fire, and in anger is like Yama, son of Vivasvat.
In gentleness, he is like the moon; in beauty, like Kāma, the god of love.
O beautiful-faced one, he has enjoyed the entire Jambūdvīpa with his father.
Out of respect for his father, he has not known the pleasures of women.
He never deviates from his father's words, always remaining in his father's house.
He sees hundreds of golden-hued women, without distinction.
Go near, O graceful-limbed one, to Mandara, the best of mountains.
O graceful-limbed one, enchanted by your song, he abandoned his horse and wandered.
There, O goddess, you must speak with the king after meeting him here.
Whatever I tell you, O lord, that must certainly be done by you.
Therefore, having bound him with oaths, take his right hand.
O graceful-limbed one, when he appears bewildered in your embrace.
O King, the oath you made was to uphold my words.
When you spoke thus, the king, innocent, acted out of reverence for truth.
