This sorrow again, O god, pierces the core of my being.

Because from the seed of the fathers, one is carried in the womb of the mother.
Therefore, O Brahman, the seed produced by another, arising from the womb, is not theirs.

Abandoning my path, he goes to the temple of Hari.
Not by pilgrimages, nor by gifts, nor by vows devoid of Vishnu—

Whether lost through yoga or by the fall of Bhrigu, O wise one—
This is the truth, O best of the wise, as has been declared regarding the path.
Even a human born with evil deeds attains the world of the Lord of the Earth.

By men without blemish and by various travelers, honored by the three worlds—
He who is not filled by the multitudes of worlds, nor by all the lotuses of beings—
Whether they remain in their own duties or act otherwise, whether they are pure or impure,

What is the use of a child born, if he brings suffering to his mother?
Indeed, O god, a mother who bears a wicked son is afflicted in vain.
