देवांनगिरसो नाम दश सम्यक्समर्चयेत्
One should properly worship the ten deities called the Angiras gods.
आत्मा ह्यायुर्मनो दक्षो मदः प्राणस्तथैव च
The self, lifespan, mind, skill, pride, and also the breath—these indeed.
दश विप्रान्भोजयित्वा मधुरान्नेन नारद
After feeding ten excellent Brāhmaṇas with sweet food, O Nārada,
अन्त्यशुक्लदशम्यां तु चतुर्दशं यमान्यजेत्
On the fourteenth day, at the end of the bright tenth, one should worship Yama.
वैवस्वतश्च कालश्च सर्वभूतक्षयस्तथा
Vaivasvata, Kāla, and also the destroyer of all beings,
वृकोदरश्चचित्रश्च चित्रगुप्तश्चतुर्दश
Vṛkodara, Citrā, and Citragupta—these are the fourteen.
तिलांबुमिश्राञ्जलिभिर्दर्भैः प्रत्येकशस्त्रिभिः
With three handfuls of sesame and water mixed, using darbha grass for each,
रक्तचन्दनसंमिश्रतिलाक्षतयवांबुभिः
With sesame, rice, and barley water mixed with red sandalwood,
गृहाणार्घ्यं मया दत्तं भक्त्या मामनुकंपय
Accept this arghya offered by me with devotion; show compassion to me.
रौप्यां सुदक्षिणां दत्वा विसृज्याश्नीत च स्वयम्
Having given a good silver dakṣiṇā, one should dismiss them and then eat oneself.
भुक्त्वा भोगांश्च पुत्रार्थानैहिकान्देवदुर्लभान्
Having enjoyed pleasures and sons, and worldly enjoyments rare even for the gods,
विमानवरमास्थाय देहान्ते विष्णुलोकभाक्
He attains the best celestial vehicle and, at the end of his body, the world of Viṣṇu.
नानापुष्पैर्मुने कृत्वा विचित्रं मण्डपं शुभम्
Having made a beautiful pavilion with various flowers, O sage,
संपूज्य विधिवद्विष्णुं श्रद्धया सुसमाहितः
One should worship Viṣṇu properly, with faith and full concentration.
स्तोत्रपाठैर्बहुविधैर्गीतवाद्यैर्मनोहरैः
With many kinds of hymns, songs, and delightful music,
रात्रौ जागरणं कृत्वा याति विष्णोः परं पदम्
By keeping vigil at night, one attains the supreme abode of Viṣṇu.
कृत्वा च नियमान्सर्वान्वक्ष्यमाणान्दिनत्रये
And by observing all the vows to be described for three days,
उपचारैः षोडशभिस्ततः संभोज्य बान्धवान्
Then, after honoring relatives with sixteen kinds of offerings,
इयं तु कामदा नाम सर्वपातकनाशिनी
This is indeed called Kāmadā, destroyer of all sins.
वैशाखकृष्णैकादश्यां समुपोष्य विधानतः
On the dark eleventh day of Vaiśākha, having fasted according to rule,
स्वर्णान्नकन्याधेनूनां दानमत्र प्रशस्यते
The giving of gold, food, maidens, and cows is praised here.
सर्वपाप विनिर्मुक्तो वैष्णवं लभते पद्वम्
Freed from all sins, one attains the Vaiṣṇava state.
स्नात्वा परे ऽह्नि संपूज्य गन्धाद्यैः पुरुषोत्तमम्
Having bathed the next day, one should worship the Supreme Person with sandal and other offerings.
जेष्ठस्य कृष्णकादश्यां समुपोष्य परां नृप
On the dark eleventh day of Jyeṣṭha, O king, having fasted completely,
ततो द्विजाग्र्यान्संभोज्य दत्वा तेभ्यश्च दक्षिणाम्
Then, after feeding the foremost twice-born and giving them gifts,
ज्येष्ठस्य शुक्लैकादश्यां निर्जलां समुपोष्य तु
On the bright eleventh day of Jyeṣṭha, one should observe a waterless fast.
प्रभाते कृतनित्यस्तु द्वादश्यामुपचारकैः
In the morning, having performed daily duties on the twelfth, with offerings,
चतुर्विंशैकादशीनां फलं यत्तत्समाप्नुयात्
One obtains the fruit of all twenty-four Ekādaśīs.
नारायणं समभ्यर्च्य द्वादश्यां कृतनित्यकः
Having worshipped Nārāyaṇa on the twelfth, after performing daily rites,
सर्वदानफलं प्राप्य मोदते विष्णुमन्दिरे
One enjoys the reward of all gifts in Viṣṇu’s temple.
