भूयो मण्डलमध्ये स्यात्कटयुग्मं ततः परम्
Again, in the center of the circle, then the pair of hips, further.
आवेशययुगं पश्चाञ्चण्डासिपदमीरयेत्
Afterwards, the pair of infusions, and then one should utter the word for the fierce sword.
खड्गरावणमन्त्रो ऽयं सप्तत्यूर्द्धशताक्षरः
This is the mantra of the sword's sound, consisting of seventy and one hundred letters.
सिद्धमन्त्रो ऽयमुदितो जपादेव प्रसिद्ध्यति
This mantra, being perfected, is declared; by recitation alone it becomes effective.

With the eyes of the sixty, the limbs of the Vedas, the twice-born, the ocean, and the essence.
नानाशस्त्रधरं ध्यायेनदघोराख्यं सदाशिवम्
One should always meditate on Sadāśiva, called Anaghorā, bearing various weapons.
तारो वान्तो धरासंस्थो वामनेत्रेन्दुभूषितः
He is adorned with the crescent moon as an eye, standing on the earth, with a dwarf’s eye.
मनुः पाशुपतास्त्राख्यो ग्रहक्षुद्रनिवारणः
The mantra called Pāśupatāstra wards off planets and minor evils.
मध्याह्नार्कप्रभं भीमं त्र्यक्षं पन्नगभूषणम्
He is fierce, shining like the midday sun, three-eyed, and adorned with serpents.
वर्णलक्षं जपेन्मन्त्रं जुहुयात्तद्दशांशतः
One should recite the mantra a hundred thousand times and offer oblations one-tenth of that.
शैवे पीठे यजेदङ्गमातृलोकेश्वरायुधैः
On a Śaiva altar, one should worship with the weapons of the Mothers and Lords of the world.
सद्यः स मुञ्चति क्रन्दान्महामन्त्रप्रभावतः
By the power of the great mantra, he immediately releases cries.
जयेत्क्षणेन निखिलाञ्छत्रून्पार्थ इवापरः
He conquers all enemies in an instant, like another Arjuna.
वर्णान्तिमो बिन्दुयुतः क्षेत्रपालाय हृन्मनुः
The last syllable, endowed with a dot, is the heart-mantra for the guardian of the field.
षड्दीर्घयुक्तबीजेन षडङ्गं न्यस्य चिन्तयेत्
With the seed of six long vowels, one should place the six limbs and contemplate.
पिङ्गोर्ध्वकेशान्दधतं कपालं च गदां स्मरेत्
One should remember him as tawny, with hair upright, holding a skull and a mace.
चरुणा घृतसिक्तेन ततः क्षेत्रे समर्चयेत्
Then, with an offering moistened with ghee, one should worship at the field.
तस्मै सपरिवाराय बलिमेतेन निर्हरेत्
To him, together with his retinue, one should offer the bali with this rite.
भञ्जयद्वितयं भूयो नर्तयद्वितयं पुनः
Breaking twice and again dancing twice thereafter,
क्षेत्रपालबलिं गृह्णद्वयं पावकसुन्दरी
The bali for the Kṣetrapāla is to be taken twice by Pāvaka-sundarī,
सोपदेशं बृहत्पिण्डे कृत्वा रात्रिषु साधकः
The practitioner, having made a large piṇḍa with instructions, during the nights,
बलिनानेन सन्तुष्टः क्षेत्रपालः प्रयच्छति
Satisfied with this bali, the Kṣetrapāla grants (the boon).
उद्धरेद्बटुकं ङेंतमापदुद्धारणं तथा
He should draw forth the Baṭuka, the staff, and also the remover of obstacles.
शक्तिरुद्धो ध्रुवादिश्च द्वाविंशत्यक्षरो मनुः
The Śakti, the staff, and the fixed directions, and the mantra of twenty-two syllables—
बालं स्फटिकसंकाशं तल्लोललसिताननम्
A boy, shining like crystal, with a face radiant with playful delight—
