तिलैर्हुनेद्यजेत्पीठे शैवेङ्गावरणैः सह
He should be worshipped on the seat with sesame offerings, together with Shaiva coverings.
प्रासादाद्यं जपेन्मन्त्रमयुतं रोगशान्तये
At the beginning of the ritual, one should recite the mantra ten thousand times for the pacification of disease.
चन्द्रबिंबस्थितं मूर्ध्नि ध्यातं क्ष्वेडगदापहम्

तारो नमो भूतपदं ततो ऽधिपतये ध्रुवम्
The syllable 'ta', salutation, the word 'bhūta', then certainly 'to the Lord'.
विहरद्वितयं पश्चान्नरीनृत्ययुगं पृथक्

घण्टाकपालमालादिधरायेति पदं पुनः

He is adorned with the crescent moon as an eye, standing on the earth, with a dwarf’s eye.
मनुः पाशुपतास्त्राख्यो ग्रहक्षुद्रनिवारणः
The mantra called Pāśupatāstra wards off planets and minor evils.
मध्याह्नार्कप्रभं भीमं त्र्यक्षं पन्नगभूषणम्
He is fierce, shining like the midday sun, three-eyed, and adorned with serpents.
वर्णलक्षं जपेन्मन्त्रं जुहुयात्तद्दशांशतः
One should recite the mantra a hundred thousand times and offer oblations one-tenth of that.
शैवे पीठे यजेदङ्गमातृलोकेश्वरायुधैः
On a Śaiva altar, one should worship with the weapons of the Mothers and Lords of the world.
सद्यः स मुञ्चति क्रन्दान्महामन्त्रप्रभावतः
By the power of the great mantra, he immediately releases cries.
जयेत्क्षणेन निखिलाञ्छत्रून्पार्थ इवापरः
He conquers all enemies in an instant, like another Arjuna.
वर्णान्तिमो बिन्दुयुतः क्षेत्रपालाय हृन्मनुः
The last syllable, endowed with a dot, is the heart-mantra for the guardian of the field.
षड्दीर्घयुक्तबीजेन षडङ्गं न्यस्य चिन्तयेत्
With the seed of six long vowels, one should place the six limbs and contemplate.
