आज्याक्तैः करवीरोत्थैः प्रसूनैररुणैर्हुतैः
By offerings of reddish flowers of oleander anointed with ghee, it is accomplished.
भूषावाहनवाणिज्यसिद्धयश्चास्य वाञ्छिताः
The desired attainments of ornaments, vehicles, and trade are obtained for him.
सतैलाक्तैर्निशामध्ये त्वानयेद्वाञ्छितां वधूम्
By offerings of oil-anointed flowers at midnight, one brings the desired bride.
मासादरातेस्तस्यार्तिर्ज्वरेण भवति ध्रुवम्
If she refuses for a month, her suffering will certainly come through fever.
शत्रोर्द्दाहव्रणानि स्युर्दुःसाध्यानि चिकित्सकैः
The enemy will have burning wounds, difficult for physicians to cure.
मरिचैः सर्षपाज्याक्तौनशि होमानुसारतः
By oblations of black pepper and mustard anointed with ghee, according to the rite—
शालिभिश्चाज्यसंसिक्तैर्हेमाच्छालीनवाप्नुयात्
By rice grains sprinkled with ghee, one attains golden rice.
साध्यर्क्षवृक्षसंभूतां पिष्टपादरजःकृताम्
Made from the dust of the feet of trees ruled by auspicious constellations, ground into paste—
प्रपदाभ्यां च जङ्घाभ्यां जानुभ्यामुरुयुग्मतः
With the feet, the shanks, the knees, and the pair of thighs,
शिरसा च सुतीक्ष्णेन च्छित्वा शस्त्रेण वै क्रमात्
And with the head, severed gradually by a sharp weapon,
वश्या भवन्ति सप्ताडाज्ज्वरार्त्तीश्चास्य वाञ्छया
Sevenfold, those afflicted by fever become subject to his will through desire,
कृत्वा पुत्तलिकां साध्यनामयुक्तामथो हृदि
Having made a doll endowed with the requisite materials, then placing it at the heart,
स्पृशन्निजकराग्रेण सहस्रं प्रजपेन्मनुम्
Touching it with the tip of his own hand, he should recite the mantra a thousand times,
नरनारीनृपास्तस्य वश्याः स्युर्मरणावधिं
Men, women, and kings become subject to him until death,
तेन वै तिलकं भाले धारयन्वशयेज्जगत्
By wearing a mark of it on the forehead, he can subdue the world,
समानवर्णेवत्साया रक्ताया गोः पयस्तथा
With milk from a cow of the same color as the calf, and with red milk likewise,
घृतेन सिक्तं सिक्थं तु कृत्वा तत्ससितं करे
Having made a paste moistened with ghee, and mixed it with sugar in the hand,
एवं होमो महालक्ष्मीमावहेत्प्रतिपत्कृतः
Thus, by performing the fire offering at the beginning, one obtains great fortune,
पञ्चम्यां तु विशेषेण प्राग्वद्धोमं समाचरेत्
On the fifth day especially, one should perform the fire offering as before,
अन्नाज्याभ्यां च नियतं हुत्वान्नाढ्यो भवेन्नरः
By offering with rice and ghee regularly, a man becomes wealthy,
घृतहोमादवाप्नोति तथैव तिलतन्दुलैः
He attains the same by offering ghee, as well as sesame and rice,
मण्डलाल्लभते लक्ष्मीं महतीं श्लाध्यविग्रहाम्
From the circle, he obtains great fortune, with a praiseworthy form,
जुहुयान्नित्यशो भक्त्या सहस्रं विकचैः शुभैः
He should always offer a thousand with devotion, using fresh, auspicious flowers,
चंपकैः क्षौद्रसंसिक्तैः सहस्रहवनाद्ध्रुवम्
With champaka flowers moistened with honey, a thousand offerings surely,
पाटलैर्घृतसंसिक्तैस्त्रिसहस्रं हुतैस्तथा
With pāṭala flowers moistened with ghee, three thousand offerings likewise,
कर्पूरचन्दनाद्यानि सुगन्धानि तु मासतः
Camphor, sandalwood, and other fragrant substances should be used for a month,
शालिभिः क्षीरसिक्ताभिः सप्तमीषु शतं हुतम्
One should offer a hundred oblations of rice soaked in milk on the seventh lunar days.
तिलैर्हुतैस्तु दिवसैर्वर्षादारोग्यमाप्नुयात्
By offering sesame seeds daily, one attains health for a year.
निरातङ्को महाभोगः शतं वर्षाणि जीवति
Free from affliction and enjoying great prosperity, one lives for a hundred years.
तेनायुःश्रीयशोभोगपुण्यनिध्यादिमान्भवेत्
By this, one becomes endowed with longevity, fortune, beauty, enjoyment, and merit.
