चन्द्रचन्दनकस्तूरीमृगनाभिमहोदयैः
With moon, sandalwood, kastūrī, and the great musk of the deer.
पूर्णप्रतीतौ भव्यानि विकले ऽभव्यमीरितम्
When the sign is complete, auspicious things are declared; when incomplete, inauspiciousness is spoken.
विवेका विभवा विश्वा वितता च प्रकीर्तिता
Discernment, prosperity, universality, and expansion are proclaimed.
गौरी शिवा ह्यमेया च विमला विजया परा
Gaurī, Śivā, immeasurable, pure, victorious, and supreme.
अशेषरूपा स्वानन्दांबुजाक्षी चाप्यनिन्दिता
She is of countless forms, whose eyes are like the lotus of self-bliss, and she is beyond reproach.
विद्या वागीश्वरी सत्या संयता च सरस्वती
She is knowledge, the mistress of speech, truth, restraint, and Sarasvati herself.
पूषा चैव तथा तुष्टिः पुष्टिश्चापि रतिर्धृतिः
She is also Pūṣā, satisfaction, nourishment, delight, and steadfastness.
देवीनामानि चैतानि चुलुके सलिले स्मरन्
Reciting these names of the goddesses while holding water in a vessel,
ताडीं सारस्वतीं जिह्वां दीपाकारां स्मरन्पिबेत्
Remembering Tāḍī, Sarasvatī, the tongue, and the lamp-like form, one should drink.
एवं नित्यमुषः काले यः कुर्याच्छुद्धमानसः
Thus, whoever performs this every day at dawn with a pure mind,
अनुग्रहोक्तचक्रस्थां देवीं ताभिर्वृतास्मरेत्
Should meditate upon the goddess, established in the chakra as spoken by grace, surrounded by them.
ज्वरभूतग्रहोन्मादशीतकाकामलाक्षिहृत्
Fever, spirits, madness, cold, jaundice, and eye diseases,
व्रणप्रमेहच्छर्द्यर्शोग्रहण्यामत्रिदोषजाः
Ulcers, diabetes, vomiting, piles, indigestion, and ailments caused by the three humors,
द्रव्यं चक्रस्य निर्माणे काश्मीरं समुदी रितम्
For constructing the chakra, Kashmir is prescribed as the material.
बिलद्वारे लिखेत्त्र्यस्रं षोडशत्र्यस्रसंयुतम्
At the entrance of the cave, one should draw a triangle joined with sixteen triangles.
ताभिस्तच्छक्तिभिः साकं सिद्धद्रव्यैः सुगन्धिभिः
Together with those powers and accomplished substances, with fragrant items,
पातालादिषु लोकेषु रमयत्यनिशं चिरम्
She delights continually and for a long time in the worlds, beginning from Pātāla.
पिशाचा गुह्यका वीराः किन्निरा भुजगास्तथा
Piśācas, guhyakas, heroes, kinnaras, and serpents likewise,
किंशुकैर्भूषणावाप्तौ पाटलैर्गजसिद्धये
With kiṃśuka flowers for obtaining ornaments, and pāṭala flowers for the accomplishment of elephants,
उत्पलैरुष्ट्रसंसिद्ध्यै तगरैः पशुसिद्धये
With utpala flowers for the accomplishment of camels, and tagara flowers for the accomplishment of animals,
दाडिमैर्निधिसंसिद्ध्यै मधुकैर्गानसिद्धये
With pomegranate flowers for the accomplishment of treasures, and madhuka flowers for the accomplishment of singing,
शतपत्रैर्जयावाप्त्यै केतकैर्वाहनाप्तये
With lotus flowers for the attainment of victory, and ketaka flowers for the attainment of vehicles.
पूजयेन्मासमात्रं वा द्विगुणं त्रिगुणं तु वा
One should worship for a month, or for twice or thrice that duration.
सचक्रपरिवारां तां देवीं सलिलमध्यगाम्
That goddess, surrounded by her retinue and Indra, abiding in the midst of water—
घृतैः पूर्णायुषः सिद्ध्यै क्षौद्द्रैः सौभाग्यसिद्धये
For the attainment of long life, one should bathe her with ghee; for the accomplishment of good fortune, with honey.
सर्वार्थसिद्धय तौर्यैरभिषिञ्चेन्महेश्वरीम्
For the fulfillment of all aims, one should bathe the great goddess with milk.
निवसंस्तत्र तत्पुष्पैर्जायते मन्मथोपमः
Dwelling there with those flowers, one becomes comparable to Kāma, the god of love.
कृत्याः परेरिता मन्त्रा विमुखांस्तान् ग्रसंति वै
Spells sent forth by witches devour those who are hostile.
पूजयन्निष्टमखिलं लभते ऽत्र परत्र च
By worshipping, one obtains all desired ends here and hereafter.
पूजयन्मासमात्रेण प्राग्जन्माद्यैर्विमुच्यते
By worshipping for just a month, one is freed from sins of previous births.
