तद्विधानं च वक्ष्यामि सम्यगासवकल्पनम्
I shall properly explain its procedure, without any fabrication.
गतुडमुष्णोदके क्षिप्त्वा समालोड्य विनिक्षिपेत्
Having placed jaggery in hot water, mix it well and then strain it.
खात्वा भूमौ संध्ययोस्तु करैः संक्षोभ्य भूयसा
Having poured it on the ground at twilight, stir it thoroughly with the hands.
संशोध्य पूजयेत्तेन गौडी सा गुडयोगतः
After purifying it, worship with it; this is the Gauḍī, prepared with jaggery.
अध्यर्द्धद्विगुणे तोये श्रपयेत्तन्दुलं शनैः
In water that is one and a half or twice the amount, cook rice slowly.
दिनमेकं धृते वाते निवाते स्थापयेत्ततः
Then, after holding it for one day in the windless place, let it stand.
वृक्षजं फलजं चेति द्विविधं क्रियते मधु
Honey is made in two ways: from trees and from fruits.
मृद्वीकांवाथ खर्जूरफलं पुष्पमथापि वा
Either grapes or dates, or flowers, or even something else.
प्राक्सृतासवलेशेन मिलितं दिवसद्वयात्
Mixed with a trace of the original, it is ready after two days.
वार्क्षं तु नालिकेरं स्याद्धिन्तालस्याथ तालतः
The tree should be a coconut, or else a palmyra or date palm.
नालिके रफलान्तस्थसलिले शशिना युते
Within the water inside the coconut fruit, together with the moonlight,
आतपे सद्य एवैतदासवं देवताप्रियाम्
In sunlight, this becomes at once the liquor dear to the gods.
देवैः कृत्वा ततः सद्यो दद्यात्तत्सिद्धये द्वयम्
Having prepared it for the gods, one should immediately offer both for its accomplishment.
न कदाचित्पिबोत्सिद्धो देव्यर्थमनिवेदितम्
One should never drink what is prepared, if it has not been offered for the goddess.
ततः करोति चेत्सद्यः पातकी भवति ध्रुवम्
If one does so, then at once he certainly becomes a sinner.
पातकी राजदण्ड्यश्च रिक्थोपासक एव
Such a sinner is subject to royal punishment, just like a thief of inheritance.
सिद्धस्य सर्वदा प्रोक्तं यतो ऽसौ तन्मयो भवेत्
It is always said of the accomplished one, because he becomes identified with that.
उपचारैरासवैश्च मत्स्यैर्मांसैस्तु संस्कृतैः
With offerings of liquors, fish, and meats, properly prepared,
येषामाचरणात्सिद्धिं साधको लभते ध्रुवम्
By whose practice the practitioner surely attains accomplishment.
वैशाखे मासि पूर्णायां पूजयेद्धेमपुष्पकैः
In the month of Vaiśākha, on the full moon, one should worship with golden flowers.
आषाढ्यां चन्दनैरेलाजातीकङ्कोलकुङ्कुमैः
In Āṣāḍhā, with sandalwood, cardamom, nutmeg, jujube, and saffron.
प्रौष्ठपद्यां गन्धपुष्पैर्यजेद्वा केतकीसुमैः
In Prauṣṭhapada, with fragrant powders and flowers, or with ketakī blossoms.
कार्तिक्यां कुङ्कुमैश्चैव निशि दीपगणैरपि
In Kārtika, with saffron and also with many lamps at night.
पौष्यां सशर्करगुडैर्गवां दुग्धैः समर्चयेत्
In Pauṣa, one should worship with sugar, jaggery, and the milk of cows.
फआल्गुन्यां विविधैर्द्रव्यैः फलैः पुष्पैः सुगन्धिभिः
In Phālguna, with various substances, fragrant fruits, and flowers.
सिद्धद्रव्यैश्च सप्ताहात्खेचरीमेलनं भवेत्
With accomplished substances, after seven days, the union with Khecarī is attained.
कदम्बगजातिपुष्पाभ्यां सिद्धद्रव्यैः शिवां यजेत्
One should worship Śivā with the flowers of kadamba and jasmine, using perfected substances.
केतकीकुसुमैः सिद्धाश्चेटका वारिधेस्तटे
Perfected attendants, with ketakī flowers, should be stationed on the riverbank.
वसूनि मालां भूषां च दद्युरस्येहयानिशम्
They should continually offer wealth, garlands, and ornaments to her without hesitation.
शाल्मलैः कुसुमैः सिद्धद्रव्यैर्मासं तु निर्भयम्
With the flowers of śālmalī and perfected substances, one may worship for a month without fear.
