अचिरेणैव देवीनां प्रसादात्संभवन्ति च
Very soon, by the grace of the goddesses, all desired results are obtained.
अष्टावृत्त्या नरो भूपान्निग्रहानुग्रहक्षमः
By eight recitations, a man becomes capable of restraining and favoring kings.
दशावृत्त्या पठेन्नित्यं वाग्लक्ष्मीकान्तिसिद्धये
By reciting it ten times daily, one attains mastery of speech, wealth, and beauty.
अर्कावृत्त्या सिद्धिभिः स्याद्दिग्भिर्मर्त्यो हरोपमः
By reciting it as many times as the sun's rays, a mortal becomes like Śiva, endowed with powers in all directions.
शक्रावृत्त्याखिलेष्टाप्तिः सर्वतो मङ्गलं भवेत्
By reciting it as many times as Indra, one attains all desired objects and auspiciousness everywhere.
षोडशावृत्तितो भूयान्नरः साक्षान्महेश्वरः
By reciting it sixteen times, a man becomes directly like Maheśvara.
मण्डलं मासमात्रं वा यो जपेद्यद्यदाशयः
Whoever recites this in a maṇḍala or for a month, according to his wish—
इत्येतत्कथितं विप्र नित्यावृत्त्यर्चनाश्रितम्
Thus, O sage, this has been explained, based on regular recitation and worship.
नाम्नां सहस्रं मनसो ऽभीष्टसंपादनक्षमम्
The thousand names are capable of fulfilling the heart's desires.
इति श्रीबृहन्नारदीयपुराणे पूर्वभागे बृहदुपाख्याने तृतीयपादे ललितास्तोत्र कवचसहस्रनामकथनं नामैकोननवतितमो ऽध्यायाः
Thus ends the eighty-ninth chapter, named 'The Account of the Thousand Names of the Lalitā Hymn and Armor,' in the third section of the great narrative in the first part of the glorious Bṛhannāradīya Purāṇa.
पटलं ते ऽभिधास्यामि नित्याभ्यर्चनदीपकम्
I shall declare to you a section that serves as a constant lamp for worship.
शेषेण देवीरूपेण तेन स्यादिदमीरितम्
By the remainder, in the form of the Goddess, this has been spoken.
तस्याश्चार्थस्तु कथितः सर्वतन्त्रेषु गोपितः
Its meaning has been explained, concealed in all the tantras.
तयोर्विमर्श ईकारो बिन्दुना तन्निफआलनम्
The analysis of the two is the letter 'ī', with the dot; that is its manifestation.
एकार्णवन्तो द्व्यर्णाश्च त्रिदिङ्मुखार्णकाः
There are single-lettered, double-lettered, and triple-lettered forms.
तैर्भेदयो जनं कुर्यात्संदर्भाणामशेषतः
By their distinctions, one may produce all possible contexts for people.
उभयात्मकमप्यात्मस्वरूपं तैश्च भावयेत्
One should contemplate the nature of the self as having both aspects, by means of these.
पराहॄन्तामयं सर्वस्वरूपं चात्मविग्रहम्
The supreme heart-made form, the form of all, and the self-body.
प्रकाशरूपमात्मत्वे वस्तु तद्भासते परम्
When the essence is luminous in the self, that supreme reality shines forth.
यद्विद्येति समाख्यातं सर्वथा सर्वतः सदा
That is called 'knowledge', always and everywhere, in every way.
तद्विधानं च वक्ष्यामि सम्यगासवकल्पनम्
I shall properly explain its procedure, without any fabrication.
गतुडमुष्णोदके क्षिप्त्वा समालोड्य विनिक्षिपेत्
Having placed jaggery in hot water, mix it well and then strain it.
खात्वा भूमौ संध्ययोस्तु करैः संक्षोभ्य भूयसा
Having poured it on the ground at twilight, stir it thoroughly with the hands.
संशोध्य पूजयेत्तेन गौडी सा गुडयोगतः
After purifying it, worship with it; this is the Gauḍī, prepared with jaggery.
अध्यर्द्धद्विगुणे तोये श्रपयेत्तन्दुलं शनैः
In water that is one and a half or twice the amount, cook rice slowly.
दिनमेकं धृते वाते निवाते स्थापयेत्ततः
Then, after holding it for one day in the windless place, let it stand.
वृक्षजं फलजं चेति द्विविधं क्रियते मधु
Honey is made in two ways: from trees and from fruits.
मृद्वीकांवाथ खर्जूरफलं पुष्पमथापि वा
Either grapes or dates, or flowers, or even something else.
प्राक्सृतासवलेशेन मिलितं दिवसद्वयात्
Mixed with a trace of the original, it is ready after two days.
वार्क्षं तु नालिकेरं स्याद्धिन्तालस्याथ तालतः
The tree should be a coconut, or else a palmyra or date palm.
