भजतामिष्टदाः सद्यः सर्वपापक्षयङ्कराः
They who worship me receive their desired boons at once, and all their sins are destroyed.
नाम्नां सहस्रं वक्ष्यामि गुरुध्यानपुरः सरम्
I shall declare a thousand names, preceded by meditation on the guru.
भूम्यादीनिशिवान्तानि विद्धि तत्त्वानि नारद
Know, O Nārada, that the principles begin with earth and end with Śiva.
एतानि प्राहमनोवृत्त्या चिन्तयेत्साधकोत्तमः
The foremost practitioner should contemplate these with the activity of the mind.
नमस्ते नाथ भगवञ्शिवाय गुरुरूपिणे
Salutations to you, Lord, Bhagavān Śiva, who appears in the form of the guru.
नवाय नवरूपाय परमार्थैकरूपिणे
To the ever-new, of ever-new forms, whose essence is the one supreme reality.
स्वतन्त्राय दयाकॢप्तविग्रहाय शिवात्मने
To the independent one, whose form is shaped by compassion, whose nature is Śiva.
विवेकिनां विवेकाय विमर्शाय विमर्शिनाम्
To the discernment of the discerning, to reflection for those who reflect.
पुरस्तात्पार्श्वयोः पृष्ठे नमः कुर्यामुपर्यधः
Let me offer salutations in front, at the sides, behind, above, and below.
इति स्तुत्वा गुरुं भक्त्या परां देवीं विचिन्तयेत्
Having thus praised the guru with devotion, one should meditate on the supreme goddess.
देवीं मन्त्रमयीं नौमि मातृकापीठरूपिणीम्
I bow to the goddess composed of mantra, who takes the form of the seat of the letters.
कालहृल्लोहोलोल्लोहकलानाशनकारिणीम्
Who brings about the destruction of the divisions of time, mind, and the restless heart.
रवितार्क्ष्येन्दुकन्दर्पैः शङ्करानलविष्णुभिः
With the Sun, Garuḍa, Moon, Kāma, Śaṅkara, Fire, and Viṣṇu.
वन्दे सर्वेश्वरीं देवीं महाश्रीसिद्धमातृकाम्
I adore the goddess, the sovereign of all, the great and accomplished mother of the letters.
ब्रह्माण्डादिकटाहान्तं तां वन्दे सिद्धमातृकाम्
I bow to that accomplished mother of the letters, who extends from the cosmic egg to its shell.
ब्रह्माण्डादिकटाहान्तं जगदद्यापि दृश्यते
From the cosmic egg to its shell, the universe is still seen today.
ज्येष्ठाङ्गबाहुहृत्कण्ठकटिपादनिवासिनीम्
Who dwells in the eldest limb, arms, heart, throat, waist, and feet.
प्रणमामि महादेवीं परमानन्दरूपिणीम्
I bow to the great goddess, whose form is supreme bliss.
केयं कस्मात्क्व केनेति सरूपारूपभावनाम्
What is this, whose is it, where, by whom—such thoughts of form and formlessness.
देवीं कुलकलोल्लोलप्रोल्लसन्तीं शिवां पराम्
I bow to the supreme goddess, auspicious and exalted, who surges with the lineage’s currents.
वन्दे तामष्टवर्गोत्थमहासिद्ध्यादिकेश्वरीम्
I revere her, the sovereign of great siddhis arising from the eight groups.
चतुराज्ञाकोशभूतां नौमि श्रीत्रिपुरामहम्
I honor Śrī Tripurā, who is the treasury of the four commands.
पूजादौ तस्य सर्वाता वरदाः स्युर्न संशयः
At the beginning of worship, she surely grants every boon—there is no doubt.
येन देवासुरनरजयी स्यात्साधकः सदा
By her, the practitioner always conquers gods, demons, and men.
कामेशी पुरतः पातु भगमाली त्वनन्तरम्
May Kāmeśī protect me in front, and Bhagamālī next.
नित्यक्लिन्नाथं भेरुण्डादिशं मे पातु कौणपीम्
May Kauṇapī protect me from Nityaklinnā, Bheruṇḍā, and the other lords.
महावज्रेश्वरी नित्या वायव्ये मां सदावतु
May Mahāvajreśvarī Nityā always guard me in the northwest.
माहेश्वरी दिशं पातु त्वरितं सिद्धिदायिनी
May Māheśvarī, the swift bestower of siddhi, protect the direction.
अधो नीलपताकाख्या विजया सर्वतश्च माम्
Below, may Nīlapatākā, called Vijayā, protect me from all sides.
देहॄन्द्रियमनः प्राणाञ्ज्वालामालिनिविग्रहा
May Jvālāmālinī, whose form is flame, protect my body, senses, mind, and life-breath.
