भास्वन्मुकुटविन्यासचन्द्रलेखाविराजिताम्
Adorned with a shining crown, resplendent with a crescent moon.
उद्यद्भास्वद्बिंबतुल्यदेहकान्तिं शुचिस्मिताम्
With a radiant body like the rising, shining orb, and a pure smile.
चक्रं तथाङ्कुशं खङ्गं सायकं मातुलुं गकम्
A discus, an elephant goad, a sword, an arrow, and a citron fruit.
उपासनेति सौम्यां च सिंहोपरि कृतासनाम्
She is to be worshipped as gentle, seated upon a lion.
समरे पूजने ऽन्येषु प्रयोगेषु सुखासनाम्
In battle, in worship, and in other rites, she is comfortably seated.
सर्वा देव्याः समाकारमुखपाण्यायुधा अपि
All the goddess's forms, faces, hands, and weapons as well.
शाखष्टकसमोपेतं तत्र प्राग्वत्समर्चयेत्
With eight branches, as before, one should worship there.
तदन्तश्च तथा पद्मं षोडशच्छदसंयुतम्
And within that, likewise, a lotus with sixteen petals.
तत्तच्छक्त्या वृतां सम्यगुपचारैस्तथार्चयेत्
One should properly worship those, each surrounded by its own power, with offerings.
चतुर्दशीं प्रवक्ष्ये ऽथ नित्यां वै सर्वमङ्गलाम्
Now I will describe the fourteenth, the eternal, the all-auspicious one.
हृदंबुवनयुक्तं खं नित्या स्यात्सर्वमङ्गला
With heart, water, and sky, the eternal one is all-auspicious.
षड्दीर्घाढ्यां मूलविद्यां षडङ्गेषु प्रविन्यसेत्
The root mantra, rich in six long syllables, should be placed in the six parts.
माणिक्यमुकुटां नेत्रद्वयप्रेङ्खद्दयापराम्
With a ruby crown, her two eyes moving with boundless compassion.
पत्रैरुपेते सचतुद्वारंभूसद्मयुग्मके
Endowed with leaves, with four gates, and a pair of earth-made seats.
वामेन निजभक्तानां प्रयच्छन्तीं धनादिकम्
With her left hand, she grants to her own devotees wealth and the like.
षट्सप्तातीभिरन्याभिरप्सरोत्थाभिरन्विताम्
Accompanied by other celestial nymphs, numbering six, seven, or more, born of the waters.
एषा चतुर्दशी प्रोक्ता तथा पञ्चदशीं शृणु
This is the fourteenth (mantra); now listen to the fifteenth.
रयोग्निना युतीज्यांबुमरुद्युक्तारसा मरुत्
Joined with the moon and fire, to be worshipped with water and wind, with the essence of wind.
गोत्रा चरेण सहिता अंबुपूर्वाक्षरस्तथा
With the gotra and the syllable 'ca', together with the initial letter 'a' of water.
हंसश्च मरुता दाहः प्राणश्च मरुता युतः
The swan with the wind is burning; the breath is also joined with the wind.
चरेणांबु च गोत्राहृत्साग्निर्ज्यांबुरसा स्वयुक्
With 'ca', water, gotra, heart, fire, bow, water, and its own essence.
दाहेनानेन ते द्विः स्याद्भस्वो दाहमरुत्स्वयुक्
With this burning, twice for you; the ashes, burning, and wind, with its own essence.
सप्तदाहास्ततो ऽस्याः स्युरष्टमाद्यास्तु पञ्च ते
Thus, there are seven burnings for her; the first eight are five.
त्वरिता त्वं च भेरुण्डाष्टमं च नवनं तथा
Swift, you, and Bheruṇḍā, as the eighth, and likewise the ninth.
एकद्वयचतुःपञ्चचतुष्टयदशाक्षरैः
With one, two, four, five, four pairs, and ten syllables.
शेषैस्तु व्यापकं कुर्यात्ततो ध्यायेत्सनातनीम्
With the remaining ones, one should make the pervasive (mantra), then meditate on the Eternal One.
षड्वक्त्रां द्वादशभुजां सर्वाभरणभूषिताम्
She is six-faced, twelve-armed, adorned with all ornaments.
शूलवह्नी वराभीती दधानां कपपङ्कजैः
Holding a trident, fire, boons, and fearlessness, with a lotus and a cup.
चारुस्मितलसद्वक्त्र सरोजां त्रीक्षणान्वताम्
With a beautiful smile, a shining face, lotus-like, and possessing three eyes.
चतुरस्रद्वयं कृत्वा चतुर्द्वारसमन्वितम्
Having made two squares, furnished with four doors.
