वलयैर्भूषितभुजां माणिक्यमुकुटोज्ज्वलाम्
Her arms are adorned with bangles, and her crown shines with rubies.
गुञ्जागुणलसद्वक्षः कुचकुङ्कुममण्डलाम्
Her chest is decorated with a garland of guñjā seeds, and her breasts are marked with circles of saffron.
पाशाङ्कुशवराभीतिलसद्भुजचतुष्टयाम्
Her four arms hold a noose, a goad, the gesture of granting boons, and the gesture of dispelling fear.
तदग्रस्था लु फट्कारी शरचापकरोज्ज्वला
At the tip of her hand are the syllables 'lu' and 'phaṭ', and she shines with a bow and arrows.
एषा तु नवमी नित्या त्वरितोक्ता मुनीश्वर
This is the ninth Nityā, called Tvaritā, O best of sages.
शुचिः स्वेन युतस्त्वाद्यो रसावह्निसमन्वितः
She is pure, united with her own power, and endowed with the essence of rasa and fire.
इतीरिता त्र्यक्षराख्या नित्येयं कुलसुंदरी
Thus has been described the Nityā known as Tryakṣarā, the beauty of the lineage.
त्रिभिस्तैरुदितैर्मूलवर्णैः कुर्य्यात्षडङ्गकम्
With the three root syllables previously mentioned, one should perform the sixfold ritual.
प्रत्येक तैस्त्रिभिर्बीजैर्दीर्घस्वरसमन्वितैः
For each, with those three seed syllables, accompanied by long vowels.
ऊर्द्ध्वप्राग्दक्षिणोदक्च पश्चिमाधस्नाग्नभिः
With upward, eastern, southern, northern, western, and downward fires.
आधाररन्ध्रहृत्स्वेकं द्वितीयं लोचनत्रये
The first is placed at the base, the second in the three eyes.
पञ्चमं चांसनाभीषु ततः पाणिपदद्वये
The fifth is placed at the shoulders and navel, then on both hands and feet.
लोहितां लोहिताकारशक्तिंबृदनिषेविताम्
Red in hue, bearing a form of crimson power, attended by spirits of strength.
अनर्ध्यरत्नघटितमाणिक्यमुकुटोज्वलाम्
Radiant with a crown fashioned from priceless jewels and rubies.
कारुण्यानन्दपरमा मरुणांबुजविष्टराम्
Supreme in compassion and bliss, seated upon a crimson lotus.
प्रवालाक्षस्रजं पद्मं कुण्डिकां रत्ननिर्मिताम्
Holding a garland of coral, a lotus, a water pot, all made of gems.
दधानां दक्षिणैर्वामैः पुस्तकं चारुणोत्पलम्
In her right and left hands she holds a book and a lovely blue lotus.
अभितः स्तूयमानां च देवगन्धर्वकिन्नरैः
She is praised on all sides by gods, gandharvas, and kinnaras.
ध्यात्वैवमर्चन्नित्यां वाग्लक्ष्मीकान्तिसिद्धये
Meditating and worshipping her in this way, one attains the splendor of speech and fortune.
धूमाभां वैरिविद्विष्ट्यै मृतये निग्रहाय च
Her form is smoky in hue, for the destruction and restraint of enemies.
इत्येषा दशमी नित्याप्रोक्ता ते कुलसुन्दरी
Thus, O Kulasundarī, this is the tenth eternal one described to you.
हंसश्च हृत्प्राणरसादाहकर्णैः समन्वितः
The Swan is endowed with the essence of heart, breath, taste, fire, and hearing.
नित्यानित्यत्रिवर्णेयं षड्भिः कूटाक्षरैर्युता
This eternal triple-syllabled one is joined with six secret letters.
यस्या भजनतः सिद्धो नरः स्यात्खेचरः सुखी
By worshipping her, a man becomes accomplished, moves in the sky, and is happy.
दीर्घस्वरसमेताभ्यां हंसहृभ्द्यां षडङ्गकम्
With two long-sounding syllables, the Swan and the Heart, complete with six limbs.
विद्याक्षराणि क्रमशो न्यसेद्विन्दुयुतानि च
He should place the letters of the vidyā, one by one, each joined with a bindu.
ध्यायेत्समस्तसंपत्तिहेतोः सर्वात्मिकां शिवाम्
He should meditate on the all-pervading, auspicious one, for the sake of all attainments.
पद्मरागकृताकल्पामरुणांशुकधारिणीम्
Adorned with ornaments of ruby, wearing garments of crimson hue.
प्रतिवक्त्रं त्रिनयनां भुजैर्द्वादशभिर्युताम्
With three eyes on each face, endowed with twelve arms.
करैर्वामैर्दधानां च अङ्कुशं पुस्तकं तथा
In her left hands she holds a goad and a book as well.
